POLITICS: NEW HAMPSHIRE RECAP
Wednesday, January 9, 2008
Senator Hillary Clinton rode a wave of female support in the New Hampshire primary on Tuesday night. Clinton won the primary by 39 percent to 36 percent, injecting a sorely needed infusion of optimism to the campaign of the candidate widely dismissed this week as a has-been by media pundits. With virtually all polls suggesting the New York senator would go down to a major defeat Tuesday, her supporters braced for a double digit blowout by Senator Obama - even as she was still reeling from a disappointing third place showing in Iowa last week.
Meanwhile, in the Republican primary, Senator John McCain revived his presidential bid with a Lazarus-like win. McCain had 37 percent of the vote, while Romney trailed with 32 percent, according to results posted by the Associated Press. McCain’s victory dealt another serious blow to Romney, the former governor of neighboring Massachusetts. Romney campaigned hard and spent heavily as he sought wins in Iowa and New Hampshire, only to come up short in both states.
Clinton’s surprise victory now sets up a dramatic one-one-one gender-dominated contest for the presidency between the first major party female presidential candidate and the first major party African-American candidate. And it guarantees that the Democratic presidential primary contest continues tooth-and-nail through Feb. 5, when Californians will weigh in during their “Tsunami Tuesday” primary.
Clinton’s victory came after her advisers had lowered expectations with talk of missteps in strategy and concern about Obama’s momentum coming out of the Iowa caucuses.
Hillary Clinton gets emotional in N.H.
“I come tonight with a very, very full heart,” said an emotional Clinton, who had been accused of being too scripted and cold. She acknowledged a moment on the campaign trail which many said was a turning point in her effort - a rare display of emotion this week in which she teared up talking about her passion for the country and its future.
“In the last week, I listened to you,” she said, “and in the process, I found my own voice. Now together, let’s give America the kind of comeback that New Hampshire has just given me,” she said to cheers.
McCain’s victory was crucial; New Hampshire was widely viewed as a make-or-break state. He has invested nearly all of his limited resources in New Hampshire, which he won in his 2000 bid against George W. Bush. His second attempt for the White House, however, was in trouble last summer because of weak fundraising and a blurred political message, leading him to fire senior advisers and refocus his energy on New Hampshire. This success gives McCain a jolt of momentum heading into Michigan and other early primaries and caucuses. It’s a setback, though, for former Massachusetts Governor Romney, who lost to Huckabee in Iowa on Jan. 3 and had been counting on victories in Iowa and New Hampshire to gain front-runner status.
To cheers of “Mac is back,” McCain told supporters Tuesday night, “My friends, you know I’m past the age when I can claim the noun ‘kid,’ no matter what adjective precedes it. But tonight, we’ve sure showed them what a comeback looks like. Tonight we have taken a step, but only the first step, toward repairing the broken politics of the past and restoring the trust of the American people,” he said.

I have threw my support behind Hillary, I was scared for her after Obama won Iowa. But she was able to lock the win in N.H.
And you know what I am sick of people saying she is too stern or cold, cause those are the same people who said “Oh NO, we dont need a over emotional president” when she teared up during a discussion a couple days ago. Its like she cant win!
For me experience is key, and Obama just doesnt come close to having the amount of experience Hillary has. And I am not entirely convinced of his “Time for Change” slogan.
As for the Republicans, I always liked McCain. The only thing I dislike about him is the fact that he supports all the decisions Bush has made pertaining to the war.
I’m glad Huckabee is losing fire, cause his views on certain issues I dont agree with:
He is against gun control, For the death penalty, pro-life, and his comment that gays should be locked up and hidden away from the public is outrageous. If he was to become president, I predict a presidency 2x worst than Bush’s presidency.

I agree. Clinton will either be called cold hearted or an overemotional. This is the crap that women still get. Guys get call firm instead of cold hearted or stern and in touch with their feelings instead of over emotional. She can’t win.

If you would like to learn more about OBAMA’s experience in politics, government, and business you should read his autobiography as well as AUDACITY OF HOPE. Obama really needs the support of all of us to win this thing.
A lot of people are huge fans of the Clinton campaign and Bill. Don’t get me wrong, Bill is cool. However especially for those of us under 30, we were children for most of Clinton’s reign. True, nothing bad was going on. Desert Storm was over. 911 hadn’t happened yet. The question is how much positive change went on that was the direct result of execute decision or influence as opposed to the natural political flow in a post-war era.
The question to ask is what do we need from our new president and among those needs, which are tangible within a 4 year reign? Who is the right person for that?
For me, it’s Barack all the way. It is time for a change. No need to revisit what was.

That still says NOTHING about the positive Barack has done…..Barack has nothing on his wagon….and the old saying goes…”a empty wagon makes alot of noise” and he is definitly making alot of noise. Barack Osama is nothing but the great divide when he claims to be the opposite….he creates a larger possiblity of another 4 years of a republican in the commander chief position…..HILLARY CLINTON 100%

WE NEED CHANGE
Enough of the same Bush/Clinton people dominating the country for the past 25 years
4 years of Bush, then 8 years of Clintons, then 8 years of Bush, and now 8 years of Clinton ???
Hillary hasn’t the experience she claims, she just based all her experience on Bill’s records…
and I hate how she plays the gender card everytime she is in trouble…
Older women over the age of 65 supported Clinton

I don’t like the dirty politics the Clintons are waging. I wanted to smack Bill for saying Barack is living a faerietale for promising to end the Iraq occupancy - I refuse to call in a ‘war’. It’s a slaughter of a lot of innocent people for the gain of the elite - the same elite that’s been financing Hillary’s campaign. I really wanted to support her but seriously - if she hadn’t been a First Lady and share advisors and funding of her husband - would she even have a viable campaign? What does she stand for? She voted to go to war, she takes money from lobbyists and is mounting a smear campaign against Obama. It’s the Clintons’ sense of entitlement that really irritates me. It’s white privilege all over again.

i’ve been kind up in the air lately as to whether my vote will be one for Clinton or Obama, but the more i see of the two of them, the more i realize that i don’t really care. I mean i care about their positions on issues, and their thoughts on health care reform and the current state of the education system. It’s like choosing between a rock and a hard place, the exception would be the fact that right, between those two is the safest place to be. I think alot of folks are torn in this same way as their so ready for a Democrat to be in office that they really don’t care who it is, and i think tonight that was demonstrated as they saw a shift in the projections as many of the folks who were anticipated to vote Obama, in fact went Cllinton. Some are blaming it on her “emotional breakdown” (which i think was staged), others on the discrepancies of Obama’s record, but regardless of why their votes changed, they did, and with great ease. That should say something in regards the fact that America doesn’t view going with one or the other as a win or a loss because at this point we can only expect to gain from either candidates. I do feel one thing is for sure, John Edwards i hope will make one hell of a Vice president, and right now its seems that if Barack takes the win, that’s exactly who he gonna run with.

Wow @ AJBOOGIE. Y do i feel as if you’re trying” to associate Barack Obama, whom you’ve so wrongly titled “Barack Osama”with Islam and the terrorists it seems to be producing? Please tell me u dont actually fall for that redneck belief about Barack being a muslim and a terrorist.
Funny thing is, wouldnt it be ironic to have a president who has Hussein in his name? Espeically when we had Saddam in captivity and he ended up getting hanged. Yea.
Anyway, I like Hillary. And i like Obama. Great guy. Honest guy. But for various reasons I don’t think he’s strong enough to clean up this huge craptastic mess that Prez. Bush has thrown us in. And I dont want Americans to hate Obama for not being able to clean up that mess.
However, I believe Hillary Clinton is indeed the only candidate strong enough to counter Bush’s huge mistakes for the past 8 years.
Im aware of the so called Bush and Clinton dynasties, but does it really matter? Shes really is the right person for the job. She has to be this “polarizing figure” that people keep subjecting her to be b/c she’s running in a race among men. She can’t be seen as emotional b/c people will call it as a sign of weakness.
As a woman Hillary is amazing. Look at all her accomplishments, look at the ideas she supports. Sure the whole teary-eyed scene could be viewed as trickery to steal votes, but it was needed and was the first time she’s ever shown real emotion, no matter how bad her acting might seem. She’s the only woman i know in this age who is vigorously capable of carrying the title of president of the United states.
Okay, so she supports lobbyist. But she’s also very concerned with where America really starts: our homes. Families, children, EDUCATION. Come on people, this is our future we’re talking about! Do we really want a bunch of dumb#@@#&, running this country 10 years down the line? Let’s focus on what’s going on over here instead of bothering other countries that DONT EVEN LIKE US. Hillary is not an advocate for Big Business. She’s more about bridging the ever-dividing gap b/w the middle class and the privileged class.
Ive said it b4 and i’ll say it again, If Hillary wins the Dems nomination she will need Barack Obama as her running mate if she plans on winning the presidential election. Its the only way for her. And that’s only because people wont vote for her, thinking her balls are too big. Either way, im voting for whomever wins the democratic nomination b/c I like them both.
Oh, and Bill was right about Obama and his “fairy tale.” The guy is brilliant but let’s be real, no one can really end the Iraq war. Once we’re over there, we’re over there. Our troops will have to remain in Iraq for a very long time in order to establish peace. Physical combat may end, but our troops aren’t going anywhere. However, a withdrawal of a majority of our troops is needed. Sure we cant force democracy on other countries b/c our kind of democracy just doesnt suit everyone else, as so many Americans foolishly believe. Its a totally different world over there and change has to be done right, but those changes must pertain to the customs of those people.
Hey, i don’t like it anymore than you do, but its the truth. Oh yea, and EDWARDS is a joke. This is the same guy that spent $400 of campaign donation money on a PERSONAL HAIR CUT. Yea, he really cares about the middle classs….

It’s no wonder we aint where we need to be… Cause we dont SUPPORT OUR OWN…
When Ricky Hatton fought Money Mayweather the whole of Britain turned up to SUPPORT THERE OWN, even though they knew his ass was gonna get handed to him…
Why don’t we do the same? Instead we either don’t vote (then complain) or vote for the same shit we’ve had for X amount of years (then still complain).

I disagree with all the supporters of Hillary saying no one can really end the war. She was just on a debate over the weekend saying once she is in office she will start the withdrawal of troops with in 60 days. That’s realistic….not. Plus she doesn’t support universal healthcare because her big backers are the big pharmaceutical companies. I see it like this things can’t possibly get any worse. George W. has sent this country to hell in a hand basket. I vote for change.

I am still undecided. I’m usually a very black or white person, but I have some qualms about both Clinton and Obama. Edwards I just really don’t see democrats voting for him as a whole. I want a candidate I believe in, and who shares the same views as I on a few key issues, and Obama and I are not seeing eye to eye on the military, and I have a family full of veterans, and officers, and enlisted servicemen, I vote with them in mind.

I cannot believe you people are being snowed by Hilary Clinton, experience what experience are you people talking about? She has only been in the Senate for two terms since I believe 2002. Okay before that she was the first lady so what experience are you people talking about, she and Bill could not get a reform health care pass when he was president. Then there is that Watergate scandal (before he was elected) did you people forget that. She is a true politican, shows emotion on key, acts like she is riding the wave of a new America because that is what she wants you to believe. I plan to vote Republican if she gets the Democrat nod. Yeah I said it and I stand by that too.
And yeah lets not forget when Billy was in office the following facts for BLACK AMERICA,
Clinton selected less black americans to head cabinet seats then during Bush -check the stats
Three strikes and you’re out was signed by Clinton (any of you have family members in jail for life?)
Don’t ask, don’t Tell that was his brillant plan
Rwanda was under Clinton’s watch–you may have seen the movie Hotel in Rwanda–if not rent it, for those who do not read this nation (U.S.) knew hundreds of thousands of Africans were being slaughtered and did nothing. That was your dear Clinton– while he is over in Kosovo– European nation–this issue of mass genocide was not as great.
And no Hilary is not Bill but what do you think he is going to do, play first husband and not be apart of the political game. Just like he selected her to push the health care bill, she will have him doing something other then hosting international leaders at dinner. Please, check reliable new reports after Iowa he came running to his wife side to target Obama. Political scheming in deed.
And all that experience she is talking about, bills do not get pass by the work of one person. Congress must work in unison. She may have worked on some bills but she did not single handedly move anything for the last 6 years in Congress best believe. Never mind that check the Congressional record.
I am mad that many of the us are so afraid to think outside the box. I am ready for a female president just not her. I want there to be a totally new president not the old guard returning. Obama is about honesty, truth and change. He is more then an eloquent speaker his is a man that believes America can do better and will do better with him as our leader.
Last time I checked George Bush had experience too being a governor for 8 years before running for president and we all see where that got us.
People look beyond her words (sound bites do not mean anything, G.W. had many sound bites too) and look at the issues.
I think if you did that you would see that Obama has a plan for America that will be best for those who want to see this nation back on top, anyone check the stats on the US dollar lately? Look at the economy…while fat cats continue to get fat the working middle class (yes I am apart of that class that pays for everyone else) and the poor continue to suffer.
I prayer you all start to research these candidates and stop letting the pundits and sound bites fool you.
Obama 08 or we get another four years of B.S.
The one has spoken, SHUT THE DAMN DOOR AND REGISTER TO VOTE, I’M OUT!

Big Girls Don’t Cry–But if you can burst into tears when you’re asked how you get up each morning and do your hair and makeup and the response is to tear up and quiver your lips. This is Billary’s response under fire: tears, lies about your opponents’ backgrounds. Not only is Billary unprincipled, they’ll take money from the Devil himself.
The only real change agent is Obama. He is obviously bi-racial, very well educated and ready to asume the job of the president. Do not trust or support anyone who would throw thousands of family off welfare, vote for an unnecessary war, and lie incessantly about how they get they get their money. Bill was not the 1st black president; but Barack could be. Let’s make it happen: President Obama in November.

I really want to know what all the experience is Hillary has? She is a 2nd term Senator, just as Obama. Why does she continue to link her marriage to Bill as being political experience? I don’t understand it.
If anything…Obama has more experience than Hillary because before he went into the US Senate, he was in the Ilinois State legislature.
They said Bill wasn’t experienced enough when he decided to run for President and he went on to serve 2 terms…same for JFK he had minimal experience prior to his tenure.
I’m still behind Obama 1000%. I’m riding with him until the end!

Do you even know Obama’s platform? Do you even care? Probably not. What is setting minorities back is not being educated enough to think for themselves and following the crowd instead of standing up for who and what they believe in, regardless of race and ethnicity.

You don’t like Mike Huckabee because he is pro-death penalty. Well so are the CLintons. In fact, Bill Clinton went to Arkansas while he was president just to see a retarded BLACK man executed. And on top of that, Bill Clinton has a thing for putting Black men in jail. Do you know that the Three Strikes law was during the CLinton years that Hillary is claiming as her experience that skyrocketed the Black prision population to TWO MILLION. What about all the racial profiling under Bill Clinton that he did nothing about? I was only in like the 4th grade when the Rodney King riots broke out, and I never remember Bill CLinton getting into office that same year vowing to do anything about the repaeted acts of violence. Black people kill me!. What do you even know about Hillary Clinton? Don’t be bandwagon. Sjhe is no Maxine Waters poeple. And she has no experience. He’s the best candidate. Hands down. I like his access to healthcare plan. I like the fact that he has DONE something about racial profiling. I like the fact that he helped put a hold on the death penalties in the state of Illinois due to the failure rate proved by the Innocence project. I like the fact that he is defending Roe. I like the fact that he always brings up how he wants to improve our educational system. I also like that he was a grassroots community organizer. I like the guy personally and politically. And I think he has something that alot of candidates don’t have. And that is, the ability to inspire.
Hillary doesn’t inspire me, she makes me feel conned.
John Edwards makes me feel like he may be alright, he just hasn’t been in politics in a while.
And Bill Richardson, he’s not forceful enough, but I like the guy.
And all the Republicans, well, they are Republicans.

YOU SAY YOU WANT “EXPERIENCE” BUT YOU ALSO WANT “CHANGE”???
Correct me if I am wrong, but if we want TRUE change instead of politics as usual (i.e. Emotional stunts to swing votes) than why are we looking so heavily into experience? Obama has experience promoting change and fighting for people. Hillary has traditional ‘politics as usual’ experience. What change are you really looking for? Obama is the true change agent if you ask me.
I would like to not be embarassed by my President this term!!!!! Ok, the entire process that the candidates are going through MUST be tough…but the whole crying act was a bit much for me. I have never been against Hillary, and I still am not, I’ve just always been MORE in support of Obama, however, when she cried I felt that same feeling of embarassment I feel every time Bush makes a speech. I will NOT go through that again. Can we please have a solid President? I mean…she’s only running right now - and shes crying because “It’s tough”? I understand she’s passionate, and I truly appreciate that, we do need that - but lets hold it together, please. We fight WARS and things of that nature. Will she cry then too?
I understand shes human, and there is nothing wrong with emotion, but there is a time and a place for everything. Apparently for some, that time and place was right on target because she was still able to come up with a NH win. Congratulations Hill.
With Love,

I somewhat agree with the statement made @17 that we as black people do not support one another, how else could the 900 billion dollars that we earned last year go back into the very hands that oppress us.There was a black woman in 1972 named Shirley Chisholm who ran for president and she was viewed as a joke,by her own people. The same held true for Jesse Jackson in 1984,as was the case in 2004 when Al Sharpton and Alan Keys ran. Here we are in 2008 and we still have the mentality of a conquered people…why are we so afraid to unite with one another? This is the FIRST time a black person is running for the highest office on planet earth that won’t be viewed as just some sort of symbolic gesture, and we have our own people saying Brotha O is only half white, well guess what, unless you are fresh off a 14 hour plane ride from the MOTHERLAND yo ass is half white too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And for all the beautiful black women who say that they want to see a woman hold it down@1600 Pennsylvania I do too.Vote Maxine Waters in 2012,but for let’s get with the program and Vote for Brotha O in 2008.

Clinton machine at work. Way the change New Hampshire? Don’t let the white man hoodwink you. Vote Obama!
“More importantly, if New Hampshire had rotated name order in the voting booth as it has always done in the past, the race would probably have been too close to call without a recount and might even have been an Obama victory.”

Experience is only good when you have skills that have been proven to work. Clinton has road on every bandwagon but her own, she switch viewspoints like seasons. I do not plan to vote for anyone who family member or spouse has been in the executive seat within the last decade. Bill Clinton turned his back on Rwanda when the genocide was going on, so don’t be too quick to think that they have the interest of African Americans and blacks at heart. Voting for Hillary is only another vote for Bill. I think as nation we have learned our lesson with the Bush family being in office twice. We need change! Bush had experience and look where it got us! New Leadership and new ideas is something that needs to be pumped in this country. We still operate on a back-woods! mentality.

I was disappointed that Obama didn’t pull NH last night. But I think this is going to be a really TIGHT presidential race all the way to the end.
I think Obama better get ready b/c the Clinton machine is about to go into full effect. He’s going to have to state his positions more clearly and succinctly and move past the emotional.
Everyone wants change…but how are we going to get it?

I still say there is something about Hillary that I just dont trust. I was kind of upset that she played the emotional card. I know that she is trying to prove that she is sincere. That just reminded me of when somebody doesnt get what they want, they get teary eyed. I still havent made up my mind who i’ll vote for…. still researching and ect.
p.s.— @ #21… wow… That was something.
She should’ve know that he was about to tell her off real good!

@9,10,11 and 20
We are liked minded individuals, hence, I have been on at least two other popular black blog sites, and I have said this until I am blue in the face. Hillary is no Bill, and I am ashamed that Bill Clinton has been pulling dirty tricks. When are black people going to understand that people like the Clinton’s have been taking advantage of the black vote for too long. I don’t think people understand that Hillary Clinton hails from a Republican family and Bill Clinton is not a mainstream Liberal, never was, I mean times were better for blacks when he was in office, but then so then it was when the Kennedy’s were in office too!
Or remember when Hillary went to the Abbsyssian Baptist Church in Harlem back in 2006, and talked to a group of black church goers in a fake souther accent and said they were running the house and senate “like a slave plantation”, “yall know what I mean”(USA TODAY)–NO MRS.CLINTON…WE DON’T AND NOR WILL YOU NEVER UNDERSTAND….Take it for granted that her husband knows his culture amongst the black people in Harlem (where Bill’s H.Q. office is), he would had never stooped this low to make such a comment.
Bill Clinton is a moderate. He signed the three strikes your out law, which has been responsible for jailing more black men and people of color since the Regan Administration…NAFTA (all the middle and working class jobs have gone to Asia and aboard) and the then unequal handedness in the attack on welfare reform as well!
Hillary tried this damned weak ass crying game, which made me sick as a woman…I lived in Europe and around the world…and Margret Thatcher (British Primister in the 80′) would had never shown such cowardness, nor would the chancellor of Germany, who is a woman as well! She cryed to get her way at the poles yesterday as well…because the Obama was kickin her tired azz!
Read the New York Times article on her so called “experience while in the White House”. It clearly states her experience to Obamas is at an equal “zero”.
http://www.nytimes.com/20...s/politics/26clinton.html
She may have been wearing the skirt, pants and apron (and Bill’s azz for messin with Monica), but she clearly had little or no influence on domestic and especailly foreign affairs. The interviewed all of Clinton Foreign Affairs cabinet members from his Presidency, and all of them support Obama!
Please people…we are tired of the Bush’s and the Clintons…..We see this, white people especially see this, and this is why people are supporting Obama…because it is time for “CHANGE”.
It is clearly an added blessing, that the next President of the United States could be Black, that our blessing….the curse is if we don’t support a man of greatness and change that this country so badly needs, moreover, someone who can start united this country and moving us past bigotry, hatred and the deep seeded racism that exist historically in this country…OBAMA CAN UNITED US…YOUR NON-SUPPORT WOULD CONTINUE TO DIVIDE US!
No…I am not a paid spoke person…just a disabled veteran from the Gulf War, single mother who is tired…and I served my country…it is time that my country and others serve by voting for the right person to unite us…and bring my brothers and sisters who are fighting in the Middle East home!!!
Peace and Blessings….DO YOUR RESEARCH…FIND THE TRUTH FOR YOURSELVES!

- Forget Obama and Hillary; Obama is no different from the rest of the candidates because he’s funded and was pushed to run for president by the same people who funded Hillary, etc.
Ron Paul is the only candidate who was begged by his own supporters to run
Now because of the War on Drugs black people who make up 13% of the drug-using population end up being 64% of those put in jail for it. The only person even addressing this is Ron Paul while puppet Obama wants to increase the War on Drugs …hmmm??!!! And I’m supposed to vote for him?
He’s for globalization which means outsourcing which means more unemployment in America and I’m supposed to vote for him?
He wants to stay at war and I’m supposed to vote for him?
Please, I knew black people would fall for it; Obama is like all the rest: wolf in sheep’s clothing

some of you are just plain ridiculous sometimes by calling other blacks who happen to have different views from yours “house slaves“ the real house slaves are people like you because you refuse to have impartial and logical views on certain situations
obama is bi-racial….do you get that? his ancestors did not come from west africa on slaves boats do you get that?
i`m not quite sure if obama was your “slave descendant black“ he will get all that buzz

honestly ALL politicians are con artists and i don’t think obama is any different. both him and hilary are going to face a hard battle if they win the presidential election and i don’t think their promises are enough. promises and action are 2 different things. as much as obama PROMISES change and hope, that doesn’t mean he’s going to do it. and ppl are bringing up the issue of clinton and the rwandan genocide. ppl act like bill could just go over there and mediate things. umm no world politics are messy. how do we know how clinton felt about the genocide? how do you know that his advisers aren’t the ones who made him take no action? besides america in general doesn’t care about other countries regardless of the race of the people or the ethnicity of the people, unless of course helping them would benefit us. i love this country but on the whole we’re pretty screwed up so i’m not going to blame clinton for not stepping in to end a genocide that even obama wouldn’t have ended if he was president. politicians are con artists get over it and just stick with the issues. i’m voting obama but that doesn’t mean i trust him more than hilary, that just means that his lies attract me more. i don’t really have much faith in presidents

I’ll admit I am extremely dissapointed that Barack did not take this one. I truly believe that the display of emotion by Hil, helped turn voters that were on the fence or light Barack supporters. I just hope this does not sway Black voters in South Carolina, since it seems many Black folks in this country need White people and states to validate him as a viable candidate before they choose to support him. Damn shame but true!

Before you sell your soul to the devil … look what Hilary said about MLK
http://www.politico.com/n...ws/stories/0108/7788.html
You’re voting for them and they’re shitting on you.
“A senior Obama staffer just told me the Barack Obama campaign is livid over Hillary Clinton’s recent comment about Martin Luther King Jr. and what was apparently her attempt to point out the difference between dreaming and accomplishment.
“Dr. King’s dream began to be realized when President Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act,” Clinton said in the TV interview Monday.
“It took a president to get it done.”
Some in the Obama campaign are now outraged at what they take to be a denigration of King’s accomplishments and the sacrifices made during his era.
“Go ask black people what they think of that statement,” the Obama staffer told me.
“People died for the civil rights movement in this country. People marched and put their kids in front of fire hoses! They were bitten by dogs! This is the worst thing she has said in this entire campaign.”

Clinton cried her way to a win! Good look sista (rolling my eyes)
I have always been pretty fond of Bill and Hillary even though I didn’t really trust them - but the stuff she said about Obama, MLK and LBJ was some bullshit. I don’t hate her but I don’t trust her. Bill thinking his ass is Black and folks like Andrew Young giving that junk a thought is so damn trifiling.
I would vote for McCain before I would vote for Hillary. Bill already bamboozled us with NAFTA…
I don’t trust either of them.

The only reason Hilary won NH is because she cried! Since females outnumber males there, they probably felt bad for her ass! I’m sorry but last thing we need is a president to cry over some bull ish! If she’s not emotionally stable to handle the election than how is she going to hang in the White House? First she wants to disgrace Obama’s character and once she notices that the polls are starting to favor him , then…she cries…WTF?!?! If your not feeling Obama…at least look at John Edwards …he seems like the next best thing to Obama.

I must say it is really sad that some of you don’t listen to the issues that are being spoken on. I’m supposed to vote for Obama cause he is black? Hell no, that man is all talk. Hillary has my vote until the end. Call me coon or whatever the hell you want. But at the end of the day. It’s my voice, my vote…

Hillary Clinton did not lose because of the tears … exit polling shows that of the people who made up their minds in the last 3 days … they split for Obama and Hillary evenly … 38% each. If the tears had any effect … they would have shown up by having a bigger number go for Hillary in this particular category.
A more logical reason for Obama’s loss is the “Bradley Effect” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_effect
Where white folks TELL the pollsters that they’ll vote for a black candidate and then go into a closed booth and do different. Didn’t count in Iowa because, the caucus was open voting … everyone could see your vote … psychologically this makes you stay true to whatever you said earlier.

even MSNBC acknowledges it
http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/
One other question, as the Washington Post’s Eugene Robinson raised on MSNBC last night: When you lose a lead like that, does anyone else think of what happened to Tom Bradley in California?
Did race play a role in a double-digit or high single-digit lead evaporating over night?
In fact, we can only think of three races in which the public polls and the final result were SO off, and they ALL involved African-American candidates:
Bradley’s ‘82 gubernatorial campaign in California,
Doug Wilder’s surprisingly narrow ‘89 victory for Virginia governor,
and Harvey Gantt’s surprise loss for North Carolina Senate.
There is no poll question we can find that can truly measure this phenomenon. But African-Americans are thinking this, and the difference between Iowa and New Hampshire is a voting curtain: Democrats didn’t have one in Iowa; they had one in New Hampshire

I heard her give that statement on TV, people like #64 will try and see it their way and try and make other people see it that way. Wether it was her or someone else that said it. It is a fact that someone in office had to push it in order for it to become law.

after whut i have witnessed, and between the blantant bradley effect & the the dirty politics that the clintons are pulling. whutever respect i had for the clintons is completely lost now!
lemme ask some of y’all hillary supporters this question. WHUT “EXPERIENCE” DOES HILLARY HAVE? WHUT EXPERIENCE OF 35 YEARS IS SHE CLAIMING?
is she talking about she “assisted” with her husband while he was president? is that called “experience” now? and if it is, whut exactly have she done? she proposed a failed health care system and the controversy and failure of whitewater..that’s the only two things that i KNOW of within her “experience”. yea, she may know alot of foreign officials than obama, but so do alot of mainstream & international media heads.
TECHNICALLY obama have more experience in political office, because he started his political journey as the senator of illinois in ‘97. hillary was only been a U.S. senator two years longer than OBAMA…so that’s the “more” experience she’s talking about?
WHERE IS THIS 35 YEARS EXPERIENCE SHE CLAIMS? i ask this because if she’s not just talking about her time in politics (which is only 6 years) and her time as 1st lady (which was 8-15 years ago) then where’s the REST of this “experience” to run this country? if she’s talking about whut she done for the community…obama got her TRUMPED by MILES..he started OFF as a grassroots activist and later became a civil rights lawyer. he actually WALKED thru the ghettos and urban streets. so whut have HILLARY DONE???
people need to do their OWN research and stop FEEDING INTO the bullshit. the reason why hillary won was that people FED into the bullshit. the alligator tears she produced, the attacked on MLK’s integrity, her husband calling obama’s campaign as a “fairytale”, and people being sympathetic to hillary due to the bradley effect of the polls!
