POLITICAL ROUND-UP: STATE OF THE UNION / KUCINICH OUT / KENNEDYS ENDORSE OBAMA

Tuesday, January 29, 2008

pstate.jpg

With 51 weeks left in his presidency and approval ratings at an all-time low, George W. Bush issued his last State of the Union address Monday evening, one of the few remaining moments in the spotlight for the man overshadowed by the race to choose his successor.

Mindful of his declining presidency, Bush did not announce any new initiatives that are typically unveiled in the annual address and although he referred to the last seven years repeatedly, he spent little time referring to his legacy.

He did, however, attempt to allay fears about the economy, which has replaced Iraq as the top concern of Americans.

“To build a prosperous future, we must trust people with their own money and empower them to grow our economy. As we meet tonight, our economy is undergoing a period of uncertainty. America has added jobs for a record 52 straight months, but jobs are now growing at a slower pace. Wages are up, but so are prices for food and gas. Exports are rising, but the housing market has declined. At kitchen tables across our country, there is a concern about our economic future.”

Bush urged Congress to pass the stimulus deal announced last week.

“In the long run, Americans can be confident about our economic growth. But in the short run, we can all see that growth is slowing. So last week, my Administration reached agreement with Speaker Pelosi and Republican Leader Boehner on a robust growth package that includes tax relief for individuals and families and incentives for business investment. The temptation will be to load up the bill. That would delay it or derail it, and neither option is acceptable. This is a good agreement that will keep our economy growing and our people working. And this Congress must pass it as soon as possible.”

KUCINICH DROPS OUT

(Photo: NHPR)

Two-time Democratic presidential contender Rep. Dennis Kucinich abandoned his long-shot campaign for the White House.

In a speech delivered in his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, Kucinich said:

“I deeply and sincerely believe that we fought the good fight – in large part because of the support from all of you here and from hundreds of thousands of people just like you all across this country. I stood strong because you gave me strength. I spoke out because your voices needed and deserved to be heard. And I told the truth, no matter how unpopular or inconvenient, because, no matter how long it takes, the truth really will set us free.”

“I won’t be President, but I can continue to fight for these important issues as a Congressman…”

Kucinich received little support during his presidential bid, receiving less than 5 percent in the Michigan primary, 1 percent in New Hampshire and coming in last in the Iowa caucus.

KENNEDYS ENDORSE OBAMA

(Photo: The Record)

To an excited crowd at American University in Washington, D.C. yesterday, Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts said that “in Barack Obama, I see not just the audacity, but the possibility of hope for the America that is yet to be.”

According to political analysts, the embrace of his party’s most famous family marked a crucial moment of acceptance for Obama and while the Kennedy name will carry clout in many states on Super Tuesday, Sen. Kennedy’s endorsement also brought the self-styled outsider into the inner circle of the liberal establishment.

On Sunday, January 27, Caroline Kennedy (daughter of President John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis) announced in a New York Times op-ed piece, “A President Like My Father“, that she would endorse Barack Obama in the 2008 U.S. presidential election.

“I have never had a president who inspired me the way people tell me that my father inspired them. But for the first time, I believe I have found the man who could be that president — not just for me, but for a new generation of Americans.”

Great so now Obama has a criminal donating money to his campaign (which he has not donated back like he said he would) and a man who let someone drown to death endorsing his campaign SMH.

Jones,

The only one that comes to mind immediately is Habitat for Humanity. They are actually building people houses and helping to fill up some of the vacant lots. I was there a few months ago and I say they need more of that kind of help than they do anything else. At this point, people just need a place to live if/when they go home. A friend of mines’ mother just went home at Christmas after all this time and her house is still not finished.

Thanks for asking and caring.

PLEASE CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR MR.OBAMA AND FAMILY

Tuesday, January 29, 2008 /

This is adressed to everyone on this blog who believes in the power of prayer, who knows the Word of God, who knows about the blood of Jesus and the power in the name of Jesus. Mr. Obama is in a spiritual fight, we believe (the body of Christ), that Mr.Obama is in the perfect will of God for his life and the country for such a time as this.
This is serious stuff, he is standing against principalities, powers and spritual wickedness in the heavenlies. His war is not with flesh and blood (people) though it appears that way because people many times do not know they are being used by satan especially when they do know the word of God and are not filled with Gods holy spirit.
Please declare the blood of Jesus over his life daily and all that concerns him, speak favor with God and man, declare the hand of God to be upon his life and all he undertakes and declare with me that no weapon formed against him shall prosper and any tongue that rises up against him shall be shown to be in the wrong. In the matchless name of Jesus.
Pray also that the Lord would speak to the hearts of the people, because God (satan) always has a strategy but the Lord has a plan.
His church is praying as well as men and women of God throughout this country.
Once again young people this is serious, this man took a brave step of faith to step out and believe this was Gods will, he did not just do this, he and wife went to the Lord first and sought his counsel so he did not step out alone.
If anyone is offended at this prayer request then God help you we use these blogs for everything else why not use it some to the glory of God.
God Bless all the young people who thoughtfully and tastefully run this blog.

REMEMBER GOD IS LOVE AND WHAT IS INTHE HEAD WILL TRICKLE DOWN TO THE BODY.INTEGRRITY AND CHARACTER ARE BIGGER WITH GOD THAN ANY MANS ABILITIES THAT’S WHY HE DOES NOT JUDGE AND CHOOSE LIKE MAN HE LOOKS ON THE HEART.BECAUSE HE WILL AND CAN GIVE ANYONE WHAT THEY NEED TO GET ANY JOB HE HAS CALLED THEM TO DO WHEN THEY NEED IT.

CHIDREN, I BEG OF YOU DON’T BE DECIEVED BY THE RHETORIC, ABOUT EXPERIENCE…SPEAK TO YOUR PARENTS AND THE REAL BELIEVERS IN YOUR COMMUNITIES.

PRAYER IS TURLY WHAT'S NEEDED

Tuesday, January 29, 2008 /

You know my dad said something to me just this morning he is Pastor I am a college student he said I guarantee you the people who are voting for the Clintons have no knowledge of Gods word, His will for His people (he said God created all mankind for his us), or do they have Gods spirit dwelling in them or instructing them.
He also said the devil is bold and has a lot of nerve.
He said it takes a lot of nerve for the Clintons to even be running for office again and they have no shame, no humility no pride and he said son you know some people live like their pages are stuck together in their bibles and he said this is mans country not Gods and we do what we will and the word of God does not mean what it says and God is just winking.
He said no one in their right mind with any degree of integrity would vote the Clintons back into office we would be doing this country a grave disservice. He siad they have had their time in office and the Lord has not instructed them to do this, this is what they have planned for thier lives for many years, they strategized this even the media has stated so, nothing about what the Lord wants but what they want and they refer to people as votes, the white vote, the black vote, the women vote, the hispanic vote everything is a strategy and many are decieved by following them.
He told me to pray, this is all we can do now, and he said this was a serious time for this country and we do not want to give anyone this much power and he said spiritually this is not time for a woman to lead we have not yet come together as races we don’t need gender wars too and a woman in office at this time would cause that.
God bless everyone, I thank the Lord for my parents for always showing me the right way, Gods way of being and doing right.

oh my father reminded me of a scripture and it says “when the righteous rule the people are exalted.”

I wonder what the scripture was the little lady sent mr.Obama when she sent him t hat $3.01 check he mentioned in his SC speech, I guess she is praying for him too.

@70

Bush followed his orders. Simple as that. When they follow their orders, they will be protected. Clinton was rebellious in regards to certain Middle East policies so they sent that Israeli Mossad provocateur, Monica Lewinsky, in to keep Clinton in his place. There are other agents that the Israeli government assigns to certain politicians and delegates (i.e. Judy Nathan with Giuliani, Golan Cipel with Jim McGreevey, etc.) to maintain their control of American “democracy”.

@71

You’d be surprised how corrupt certain people and families are, lol. The Bushes are useful to the powers that be because unlike most caucasian world figures, they don’t give a damn how they’re perceived. That means that they’re willing to be the hatchet men for the Illuminati, and do whatever it takes, to allot more power for themselves in the process. They don’t mind looking evil. The really bad ones are people like the Kennedy’s and Clinton’s that seduce black people with no intention of assisting them in the least. That’s true disdain (Prov 26:24-28).

@73

I do feel the same about Bill Clinton endorsing Hillary, lol. Who said that I must support Hillary because I don’t support this Obama character? She’s a devil just like her husband, but she will win because she’s been anointed. In regards to judging someone’s character based on who endorses them, the scriptures tell us “Can two walk together unless they be agreed?” (Amos 3:3). Before a family with the clout of the Kennedys endorses a candidate, alot goes into that decision, not just politics but spiritual alliances. In other words, they must be on the same wicked wavelength. That’s if the endorsement is sincere and not another ruse to build up Obama before his gallant fall from grace. What will be will be. Like I’ve said, this stuff is like a well-acted and directed movie. I’m waiting for the climactic final scene.

@75

I’ve never read that Kennedy was intent on dissolving the World Bank brother. That’s very interesting. What book did you read that in? The only way that he could have done that is to dissolve the military industrial complex which is impossible. America was built on war and murder. From what I understand, he was killed because he was rebellious in regards to the U.S.’s war in Vietnam. The U.S. stood to reap billions through the heroin reaped from those lands. In addition to that, it was a chance to perpetuate the elite’s population control agenda and sign contracts to perpetuate their military industrial complex. I don’t think that Kennedy was anywhere near the visionary and idealist that people give him credit for. I think he was just another slick politician that has been deified since his death. Even MLK is on record as saying that JFK knew nothing about black people. How he became a hero to blacks in retrospect is beyond me but many black people are always looking for a “goods whites mans” to save them. This is why the media always likens characters like Obama and Clinton to him. They’re subtlely saying that all three are excellent actors.

@79

I ignored that turd and so should you. This is a time when the true, strong, intelligent black and hispanic men and women will start to separate themselves from these negative and mentally disabled entities in our communities.

@82 &84

No person that reads and understands the Bible would vote at all, so stop trying to make Obama a messianically sent savior for our people. If you want to vote for him, then vote for him. That’s your prerogative. The only savior for our people will be Christ (Isaiah 33:22, 43:11). Your pastors are shills (Jeremiah 23:16, Micah 3:11). America is the modern day Roman Empire. Nowhere in the scriptures do you see Christ or Paul participating in Roman government or advocating for any Caesars. When you do your research you see that the early Christians were viewed as a terroristic organization by a Roman empire that preached acceptance “for all” (sound familiar?) because they wanted to be separate and not partake in the ways of Rome (the exaltation of pagan gods, homosexuality, etc.) (II Cor 6:17, 18, I John 2:15, James 4:4, etc.). This is why it was so easy for Nero to pin the fires of Rome on the Christians. Everyone hated them, even their own fellow Israelites (Acts 28:21,22, I Cor 4:13, 11:24-26 etc.). Also when you read Revelation, you see that John the Revelator is on the island of Patmos which was the Roman equivalent of Guantanamo Bay (Rev 1:9). Both Christ and Paul were accused by the Pharisees of being “leaders of sedition” (rebellion) (Luke 23:1,2, Acts 24:5).

@judah…

Very few people understood the grip the FDR holds over this country. And to a point I understand the argument you are making in regards to the World Bank. But the FDR just like any corporation is an entity unto itself. But, unlike any other corporation, the FDR controls the flow of money. In essence, the FDR is money, without which, any viable capitalistic country couldn’t survive. This is the vice grip.

There are several website that reports on JFK’s fight with the Federal Reserve Bank:

This is an excerpt from the website
“President Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963 and the United States Notes he had issued were immediately taken out of circulation. Federal Reserve Notes continued to serve as the legal currency of the nation. According to the United States Secret Service, 99% of all U.S. paper “currency” circulating in 1999 are Federal Reserve Notes.

Kennedy knew that if the silver-backed United States Notes were widely circulated, they would have eliminated the demand for Federal Reserve Notes. This is a very simple matter of economics. “

# 74…Natural Mystique….Can we say Victim Blaming? I wish I had more time to write, but I don’t. I wish you had a better understanding of institutional racism then you will understand that the VICTIMS of Katrina are just that victims. They are also victims of poverty and a poor educational system, which begets the former. Can you blame people for not having a car to drive out of the city, or any place to drive to? Are you blaming them for believing that if conditions were to be that bad that the gov’t would and should provide rescue for them. Mayor Nagin did not make use of the school buses that could have gotten thousands of ppl out of the area, (and by the way, those folks elected him to office) and once the devastation occured, the whole city was inept. So then, who SHOULD have stepped in was the state and federal gov’t. Unfortunatly, Governor Blanco did not federalize the disaster, Is that the citizens fault that the governor had no compassion or plain ol’ intellect. Come on, this is America, a country rooted in racism, which has not escaped through the back door, we also have too many privileged ppl in politics that don’t understand they daily struggles of the working class/poor. People are in these conditions because of policies and the lack of care for all Americans by the gov’t. Not to mention the low minimum (non-livable wages), the hiring of illegals which suppresses blue collar wages, to name a few. Perhaps you read too many blogs and confuse the few rich black celebrities for representing blacks overall, they are just a small minority. I only make this assumption b/c your comment seemed to lack a real understaning of the system and the actual events that led up to and continued through Hurricane Katrina. No Disrepect.

@ judah…This is also a short exceprt…which sums-up what the FRB is about.

Some people think the Federal Reserve Banks are United States Government institutions. They are not Government institutions, departments, or agencies. They are private credit monopolies which prey upon the people of the United States for the benefit of themselves and their foreign customers. Those 12 private credit monopolies were deceitfully placed upon this country by bankers who came here from Europe and who repaid us for our hospitality by undermining American institutions.

The FED basically works like this: The government granted its power to create money to the FED banks. They create money, then loan it back to the government charging interest. The government levies income taxes to pay the interest on the debt. On this point, it’s interesting to note that the Federal Reserve Act and the sixteenth amendment, which gave congress the power to collect income taxes, were both passed in 1913. The incredible power of the FED over the economy is universally admitted. Some people, especially in the banking and academic communities, even support it. On the other hand, there are those, such as President John Fitzgerald Kennedy, that have spoken out against it. His efforts were spoken about in Jim Marrs’ 1990 book Crossfire:”

Obama is in trouble. I just read the watch the Florida exit polls. YES I know no delegates will come from that state, but the exit poll numbers are not good for him.
Again, he overwhelmingly had the black vote, but he overwhelmingly LOST the white vote. The Latino vote was 2 to 1. That is not good news for him. I said it once and I will say it again, BLACKS ALONE can’t get him in the white house. He is going to get embarrassed on Super Tuesday.

I understand that, none of them did, which makes it unbelievable that 1.3 million Floridians would vote know it wouldn’t count towards delegates. Time is running out for him for super Tuesday. If he doesn’t crack that Latino vote and more of the White Vote, he is not going to do well. They might have campaigned there, but I know almost all Floridians have televisions and watch the news and all. I still say it says a lot for that many people to come out and vote and knew the circumstances.

@onemil

You assume OBAMA is in trouble because he doesn’t have the majority of the Whites and Hispanics votes. But, why does that shock you? Do you think it was coincidence that Bill Clinton played the race card throughout this primary? He did it intentionally and with reason. He wanted to wake America up from its stupor …“This is a black man.” That’s all Clinton needed to say and all of the negative connotation associated with the word “black man” would play in the subconscious of every voters, black or non-black.

It doesn’t shock me…just as it doesn’t shock me that innocent black men are being falsely imprisoned. This is America, and it never ceases to amaze me that Black Americans still haven’t a clue how this country operates.

Latin America is notoriously racist. These third world Latin countries run the dirtiest politics. Many of their “elected” leaders aren’t fit to run a hog pen, much less a country. Yet, many of these Latin folks wouldn’t dare elect a black person to run their country….whether it be Cuba, Venezuela, Columbia…etc.

It is interesting, I’ve been to Cuba…and the “whores” abound in Cuba. These same whores who would practically lick my feet, in hopes of some US dollar….are the same “whores” when come to the USA act as if they are above blacks in this country.

So, it doesn’t surprise me that Obama has no favor with Hispanics or whites. After all, this is politics…no one ever votes the issues in politics.

That’s exactly my point. NO one votes on the issues in politics. Everyone has their favorites, whether it is based on gender or race. Don’t let the fancy rhetoric fool you.

People will vote for Hillary because she is a woman. People will vote for Hillary because she is white. People will vote for Obama because he is a man. People will vote for Obama because he is black.

Why are blacks being chastised for doing what white Americans and until recently Latin Americans have been doing for years.

If the issues were the only selling points, why would so many candidates chase after the big name endorsements? It doesn’t matter if Obama proves to be the smartest, wisest and most eloquent candidate. Many people will disregard those facts to vote for the candidate that appeals to them the most. This is politics…the true meaning of politics. Mankind can never truly govern itself….every civilization prior to this one has fallen. What does that tell you about politics?

Obama I love you. I pray that you will continue to be true to your cause. It is evident that people are voting not because of policy issues, but they are voting for Billary on name reconition only. People are living in the past. They are looking for Bill to step in on day one and run this country.

Change is hard, and America has not learned its lesson. When America voted this nut we listened to last night into office, I knew this country was in trouble.

Hatred is going to be the demise of America. We are going around the country, calling ourselves spreading peace and democracy.What a joke,

America has not handled the people in this country right, how can we go into other countries and tell them what to do.

the billary machine is destructive. We will not have a democrat in the white house if billary is the nom…

Obama is the only candidate to set this country on the path of peace and freedom, and justice for all.

Many of Americans won’t realize this until it is too late, and by that time they will be looking at another impeachment. and saying we were fooled again.

On another note, it’s high time that we abolish the Electoral College. Most people don’t know that their actual vote doesn’t count and that it’s based on electoral votes.

@97. I agree with you that Obama needs the Latino vote.

Florida is heavily integrated with a lot of Latin Americans and many of them are republican. President Bush did very well in Florida and his brother was elected Governor. Latin Americans had a big impact in that.

I work and interact with all types of people. In this primary election the Hispanic community was voting for Hillary, so it was expected for her to win Florida.

Latin Americans are people whom believe in Unity. Florida (Republicans) has realized this and eagerly accommodates the needs of the Latin American community.

I said that to say this, don’t count Obama out just because Hillary won Florida.
