Diddy is going at it again. For season 2 of Making The Band 4, he brings back the winning boy band and solo artist Donnie from Season 1, along with MTB 3 group Danity Kane. Set in Miami, all eleven artists live and compete to make their recording albums.

Notice that when the show was first promoted it was DIDDY on camera doing all the talking without any scenes from the actual show’s airing. No one wants to see that fool on their tv screens.

Like I said before these MTB shows are not about making a band — what happens to the “Bands” after the show is irrelevant. This is about the TV show. Diddy has a production contract with MTV to Executive Produce these shows…. they are some of the highest rated TV shows on MTV. This is a $$$ deal. People keep watching, they are going to keep making these shows.
The “participants” need to understand that and make the most of their TV exposure.

I actually thought this was messed up for Danity Kane because they already had their album come out and they proven themselves….but it seems like a pretty good idea for tv I guess.

Back in the 90′s stuff was on and poppin but everyone seems to just disappear. That’s strange? What artists are on the Badboy Label now? Is he the only artist for his label? I’ve lost track. Like I said, I respect Mr. Combs but his enterprise isn’t really in music anymore. Yes, he is a “mogul” but nothing seems to have a long life with regards to “his” music artist. If I had the opportunity to get into the music industry I would not want to be associated with Bad Boy, that’s real. No one lasts. That’s a one hit wonder label, if that?

Relax. Like all “reality” TV, it’s just scripted entertainment (I Love NY, Salt ‘n Pepa, Run’s House, Real World, The Hills, etc.) so either watch it and enjoy, or develop a brain and change the channel.

As much as people are hating on Diddy with the MTB reality show, I am pretty sure the ratings will be high. They have to be in order for him to keep getting shows. I will be watching. I’m not a Diddy fan at all and I do think he is too arrogant, but I have to give him his props as a business man. And as far as people saying he is ruining these artist careers, where were they at before Making the Band? Non existent. Now we know who they are even if it is by face. So they way I see it they are in a better position now then before they tried out for MTB. Haters will be haters. It’s 2008, hating is not in anymore.

Um, the whole point of having a label is to be SUPPORTED by people who believe in you as an artist and in the music you create. The label affords you an opportunity to get heard in an environment that fosters teamwork and commraderie rather than this juvenile frat house mess that Diddy is peddling. i dare somebody @ J Record to tell mary J or Alicia that if they don’t run a mile in the rain in a bikini and a snowsuit to the gym where they have to bellydance A Fatima routine that they will lose their deal or get sent home?
