Disgraced sprinter Marion Jones, 32, was in surprisingly good spirits as she gave her first TV interview since confessing she had lied about her drug use.
“I have no regrets for doing what I did on October 5th and pleading guilty and admitting to the world that I lied, that I made mistakes,” she told US talk show host Oprah Winfrey. [ SEE MORE ]
Last week, Jones was sentenced to 6 months in prison for perjury concerning her involvement in the check fraud case and her use of performance enhancing drugs. She has been ordered to surrender on March 11th to begin her jail term.
IKE TURNER DIED FROM COCAINE OVERDOSE
Legendary musician Ike Turner died from a cocaine overdose, the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office said Wednesday.
“We are listing that he abused cocaine, and that’s what resulted in the cocaine toxicity,” said Paul Parker, chief investigator at the medical examiner’s office. The medical examiner’s office also listed hypertensive cardiovascular disease and pulmonary emphysema as “significant and contributing factors” to Turner’s death, Parker said.
Turner, 76, died at his San Marcos home on Dec. 12.
Update on Wesley Snipes
Attorneys for Wesley Snipes have characterized Ocala, Florida, as racist and say he doesn’t have a shot at seating a single black juror for his federal tax evasion trial.
No blacks were part of the jury pool Monday as a judge questioned scores of Marion, Lake, Citrus and Sumter county residents about possibly serving on the month-long trial.
“There were no black faces in the courtroom except my client,” said Linda Moreno, one of the attorneys representing Snipes.
Snipes, 45, is accused of filing false tax return claims with the Internal Revenue Service in 1996 and 1997 that totaled $11.4-million. The IRS also claims that Snipes failed to file returns at all from 1999 to 2004.
Snipes had started his day with a prayer vigil at 7:15 a.m. at Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Ocala. Organizers said about 150 people were there to show support. As he made his way to a waiting sport utility vehicle to leave, Snipes greeted his fans. At one point, he positioned his hands as if to pray. He nodded to the crowd and softly said, “God bless you.”

Its very unfortunate for all three…I feel bad for poor ole Ike because the world only knows him as a woman beater when in actuality he and many other men in this world do the same unfortunately..but he was put up on the totum pole for that..what he did was wrong and I never will accept that but as a man and human being we live and learn you have to let people wash away the past sometimes..
Wesley he had no business trying to cheat Uncle Sam and he knows it…but I still pray for his situation because no one deserves to sit in the box over something that can be fixed. I hate that there is no black person on this pool except Wesley…
Marion Jones I think the penalty was a little too harsh damn yall took the woman plaques now yall trying to take her soul. Shame on the juror and the judge..I bet if we all knew we can go to jail for being an athlete many people may never sign up to be one. You either got a wicked jump shot or slang crack rocks..but now a days both will get you in the pen…So what if she lied to the juror they not God. You lie you go to jail thats crazy..they need to arrest those murderers and other people in the world…hell you can get caught with some drugs and be out in a day or two but if you get caught lying and you black you get prison…Look at those white baseball players they lied and where they at…chilling retired and running from press like Roger Clemons and McGwire and Palmero but let a black person lie like Jones, or Vick then your going down racist still exists..

I still stand behind my comment about Wesley. Yes, Wesley Snipes has said repeatedly that he’s not interested in black women. I can also remember some sterotypical remarks that he has said as well. Please dont offend this idiot because of some ” oh he is a strong black man, and those type of men cant deal with the sterotypical black woman”!! Marion Jones is a fraud and it’s disgusting that some of you are defending her yet criticizing Wesley Snipes. BOTH WESLEY and MARION lied to the FEDS and that’s why they both gonna end up doing time.
Marion Jones might be talented but we will never know because instead of runinng clean she decided to juice up. Those medals she won defined her and deprived other runners who ran honestly. She’s nothing but a cheat just like the Chairman of the International Olympic Committee said she was.
Wesley Snipes can go fuck himself because he aint shit too. What makes this nigga think he doesn’t have to pay taxes? Who told him that? What led him to believe such foolishness? I hope they give him 50 more years for being that stupid.
