Poor Marion Jones. I feel sorry for her. Everytime I see her in photos, she’s always crying. What she did was a disgrace,but enough already with the prolonged punishment that she has already experienced. Stripping her of her medals and erasing her name from the records clearly indicates that she no longer existed as an athelete. Poor girl. Hasn’t she already suffered enough? : (

Marion Jones did the right thing to admit what she did.. but was it worth it? just because of a damn medal u have to pay so dearly and even to make matters worse she has to live her two kids behind.. Too Bad for Marion. I will always admirer her and pray for her and her family.

Listen, normally people get put away for 10 years for being involved in counterfeit check schemes. Marion Jones lied to the Feds on two counts. She only gets 6 months, and that’s only after she got arrogant and asks that she serve no time at all. Marion Jones has enough connections and probably knows enough people in the law profession that she would have had to serve no time for what she did. Even though she lied to the feds, she’s still very well connected. If she were a poor woman with no resources, they would have locked her up long-termly.

And once she’s released, life will not be hard for her. It will go on, she will have more options, still, than most for making a considerable living.

So, I don’t feel sorry for her as far as having to serve 6 months. On the other hand, I don’t feel that people should throw the book at her either. The Feds lie to us every day. As people of African descent, we’ve fallen victim to their lies and corruption before and continue to. So, what’s the big to do about it? The Judiciary System is corrupt, this country is corrupt. Who cares? People will forgive her, she deserves to be forgiven.

Someone on another site commented on how those white teachers who sexually abused their students got “sentences”/punishments less harsh than Marion Jones…now who did more wrong - the nastyass teachers or Marion Jones? Neither were right, but come on.

I don’t feel sorry for Marion at all. She has 6 months to think about what she did and try to make ammends with her family when she gets out. Congrats Monica, but don’t allow yourself to be another statstic with the whole “baby mama” syndrome. Janet, I’m glad she kept her clothes on for this covershoot, but I’m just not feeling that video. Well i feel that Marion Jones shouldnt have to do time in prison! I mean like others said they took her money, endorsements, and metals away. Im all down for the community service she has to do but damn 6 months in prison is pretty steep. And i hate to compare cases but look at all these young hollywood girls who are DWI and some drinking underage, they do what 48 hours in prison and all is forgiven, and they dont get a dime of their money taken away unless its like some fine of $1000 which is chump change to them. I AM IN NO WAY saying that what Marion did was right cuz dammit she was wrong but I definately think this is a case of going too far with the punishment
