After 17 years on the air, Montel Williams and his talk show have been canceled. According to various outlets, the syndicated talk show’s fate was reportedly sealed when a number of FOX-owed stations decided against renewing the show for another year (could it be because of what he said over the weekend?). Show production will continue through the rest of this season so new episodes should air for some time.
The Montel Williams Show first hit the airwaves on September 30, 1991 in New York and a few other markets. It was picked up for syndication the following year. The show generally focuses on uncontroversial subjects, personal stories, and the readings of self-proclaimed psychic Sylvia Browne. The show was nominated for Daytime Emmys in both 2001 and 2002. A decorated member of naval intelligence, this was the first show for host Williams. He received a Daytime Emmy in 1996 and was nominated in 2002.

Controversial US artist Daniel Edwards has cast the presenter in this bronze sculpture as a nude, “full-breasted woman with generous child-bearing hips”. The artwork, The Oprah Sarcophagus, bears a resemblance to the coffin that housed the body of Egyptian boy king Tutankhamen. The 42-year-old New York artist says it pays homage to the closest thing America has to a living deity. His previous works include a sculpture of Britney Spears giving birth and one of Paris Hilton dead.

Forbes named singer/entrepreneur Beyonce richest woman in R&B based on her concert grosses, merchandising revenue, album sales and other business interests.
According to Forbes, Beyonce, who came in #5 on the list and #1 in female urban music, earned an estimated $27 million dollars in revenue thanks to endorsement deals and sales of her multi platinum album B’Day.

Montel show would not be cancelled if rating were good no matter what he said on that interview. These people are about rating at any cost. Now it could have sealed his drowning fate. I read a report earlier of the ending of Montel and I just thought he was bowing out gracefully but they done cancelled homie…well I ain’t sit down and watched a Montell Williams show since ’93. It used to come on in the afternoons around here but now I think it comes on on the morning. Oh and let’s not forget how Montel said he was going to blow a reporter up.
