Loved the show… Alicia performance was good as was Carrie Underwood, Rhianna, Tina still doing her thang. Kanye was good but Amy should not dance.

the show was horrible, no one could sing. I thought Tina and beyonce would still the show but that was a mess and very disappointing…I mean its Tina, I thought she would have been he star of the show. Sadly, the music sucks and I was hoping that they would have paid tribute to alot of African-American artist since it is Black History month but you know how that goes. To sum it up the grammys was horrible and EVERYONE looks a mess.

I have come to the conclusion that the Grammy’s will never be good. They were so effing boring this year.

Kanye and his glo in the dark glasses were off the muthafuggin chain!!! Loved his performance - and Amy Winehouse’s performance was triumphant considering that she was a bleached crackwhore less than a month ago. Even though it was a cracked out performance still, you have to admit she looked and sounded waaaaaaaaaay better than she has in the past. And “shout to my Blakey incarcerated” was CLAS-SIC!! Beyonce and Tina were OK, but the rest of the program was either boring or straight garbage.

Why was Beyonce lip-synching the intro where she was supposed to be talking? And whoever designed her outfits drowned them in rhinestones, and the end result, a glittering hot mess. And she bumped Tina towards the end of the performance. She should have stayed off the stage after the intro. Tina was incredible, for a 69 year old senior citizen.

I like Kelis and Nas. They’re so down for each other. Haven’t heard the album, so I don’t know what the siginificance or justification of wearing the “N” word stems from. I’ll reserve judgment until I know where he is going with that statement.

Rihanna never disappoints. She was on point head to toe. She’s perfectly coifed, styled and dressed. That’s not my fave Rih ensemble, but she is still effortlessly luminous. Blue looks radiant on us yella bones.

Except when the blue is part of a glittery, tulle nightmare-which is what Beyonce is in that tacky prom dress. Not even her gorgeaous face could save that mess. I’m feeling the hair, but it’s just too much with that dress. If you have busy hair, you need to wear a more simple, elegant dress.

Alicia, my hero, is elegant and beaufitul and boring. She sold her glowing good looks a bit short with that psuedo-drab number. She looks really nice, but she’s missing that extra “hottie” factor in those photos.

The show left a lot to be desired -
Most of the brothers, esp. Luda, Tank, Jay Z and Young Dro looked very nice.
Many of the sisters represented well.

Nas and Kelis I am sure were attempting to make a statement, but they must know, or will know soon, most of the grammy audience don’t know them or anything about their music or the controversy over the album title, so they made a statement, just not the one they wanted to.

Amy, Amy, Amy. She still looks around like a lost tourist, but it just felt so damn good to see her up there sober and talking like she makes sense. Her voice was a off, but she can work on that again. Congrats to her.

Verdict:
there wasn’t anyone who stood out and don’t know what happened this year but quite dissapointing….those that looked average came out looking the best….

Ri-Ri was the winner of the night - the electric blue Zac Posen dress really worked for her, as did her new hair. Sorry, but that lil Bajan can do no wrong. And the “awkward moment” btw her and Jay was nothing really, I mean lets not read tooo much into it ok. In a recent interview, Rih-Rih conceded that she and Bey and not “friends-friends”, but that there’s no bad blood btw them. Yeah, that may have been a bold move tryin to pull Jigga up on stage w/ her but u got to give it to her, the chick is feisty, even when he shied away she did not take no for an answer. And the way she gave him the hand, as if to say “no babe - u showed out so now its my turn.” Haha. Her feisty-ness w/ J spoke to me more than his shying away from going up w/ her.

Morris Day and the Time had more energy and better moves than Rihanna and that’s just plain sad. Also Amy’s performance was boring and she STILL sounds like a crackhead. I hear better performances on the subway yo!

Performances I loved: Kanye’s set looked cool and of course the tribute to his mother. Beyonce and Miss Tina Turner was sublime! They both look and sounded hot.

Nas is caught between a rock and a hard place. He wants to take a serious stand on a serious issue but he doesn’t want to be labeled as a “racist”. He cannot have it both ways because he, like any real black man that stands for anything, will be labeled as a racist whether he likes it or not. The only thing that I can think of is that him having caucasians dressed in shirts that say “ni**er” is a ruse to get his message across. Nas is shrewd enough to know that white people want to be cool, they want to be “down”, and they can be utilized for interference. I understand where he’s coming from and what he thinks he’s trying to do in that he sees that the mainstream black community is confused and scared and he’s trying to attack that fear. There is a certain stratum of black people who are so delusional that they think that our people are “one step away from equality” when our people are no closer than when we were in slavery. At the the same time, he needs to think more in depth about how he plans to get his message across and why he wants to get that message across. He’s putting himself on front street and he needs to be prepared to make a stand and state his point in an affirmative fashion when interviewed. White people are perplexed but inquisitive at his goal and mindset and coon house negroes are incensed. Congrats to Kelis for being a wife.

Just like a previous blogger had mentioned, most people in the audience don’t know his or Kelis’s music, but I bet they will be curious to find out, now that he has worn such a shirt. I’ve always been a die-hard Nas fan and that has not changed. I’ve gained more respect for him for being so bold. The N-word is used regularly in hip-hop music, so what’s the difference now that he decided to name his album that word? And this is not to say that I agree with it. I personally do not use the word, but I think people are being hypocrites. Lets reserve our judgment for when the album drops. I trust that Nas won’t let his true fans or myself down. THANK YOU!! That is what I like about my rock bands(they don’t give a fuk). They are musicians-not actors. The problem with most entertainers today is that they can’t play a musical instrument and they are manufactured so they don’t have their own identity.
