ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: SHWAYZE

♫ Shwayze – Buzzin’

Meet Shwayze. They are a hip-hop/alternative group based out of Malibu. The group consists of rapper Shwayze, Cisco Adler on guitar/vocals and DJ Skeet Skeet on the ones and twos. Word is that they are Jimmy Iovine’s (President of Interscope) pet project for 2008.

So, if you are a fan of fun laid back lyrics with a rap acoustic mix of sound than you will most likely vibe with these guys. They kinda remind me of a mix of Crazy Town, Sublime and Gym Glass Heroes. I dig them.

For more info on Shwayze make sure you check their myspace and click here to peep the video for “Buzzin’” and then vote for it too.

  1. THIS IS THE KIND OF GROUP THAT UNEXPECTEDLY MAKES IT. I WISH THEM THE BEST.

Shoot me! I kinda dig it! I’m a very eclectic person when it comes to music any way! Espicially if detours away from that “Reeboks with that strap” bull*ish! That garbage. But I’m pretty sure it will grow on me. Now Holly Weerd, them my n*&^%s they go hard for real!

  3. Sulli

B-T-W! How the hell do you pronounce that damn name? LOL

  4. Twintron4

They need to kill theyself with that DJ skeet skeet LOL things have gone too far!

  5. UM...I GUESS

  6. JoezDog4

I’m feelin it… LoL DJ Skeet Skeet… And I can def hear the Gym Class Heroes-ness of them

  7. UGLY

I like this, it’s different, I can take it, def. can see their influence from Gym Class, but I still can dig it…Shwayze…yeah…

  8. @ 9. I’m not sure if they were influenced by Gym Class. I was just saying their sound reminds me of them. lol. As well as a bunch of other Cali alternative groups..

  9. DJ SKEET 'N SKEDADDLE

I didn’t know that Method Man, Lupe, and Dave Grohl had their own group. This should be good.

  10. Mz.Washington

That rich white boy has really big balls lol I saw a picture of him naked doin coke on another site I almost threw up in my mouth he’s nasty!

  11. Was this a paid endorsement? I had the extreme displeasure of hearing them at a music conference in Los Angeles last year and I practically ran screaming from the venue because they SUCK! I could not figure out how they got booked until I figured out Cisco Adler is in the group and he’s gotten a lot of gossip blog coverage. Trust me if you like that song it’s all studio and on par with Paris Hilton.

  12. @ 13. Naw, I don’t get paid for posts. I actually like their vibe.

@ 12. Oh and I knew I saw that Cisco guy before. LMAO!

  13. SmEllyCaT

I like the song, but its wayyyy too Gym class heroes. They need to ditch the rapper, but the guy singing has a great voice and the guitar is great too. The rapping is dreadful its like on the level of ALI G

  14. Carlitos

I dig it. Co-Sign with #4. Need Different music nowadays cause the “rims, cash and broads” are getting repetitive.

  15. Ms. Maye

    You pronounce it: Sway-zie

  16. a.k.a. new yorker

“don’t be shy” is one of their worst so idk why you guys picked it as one of the feature songs. i’ve always loved “buzzin’” imo they’re much better than gym class heroes who only has one good song to me (cupid’s chokehold). i think gym class heroes is all hype with nothing to really back it up.

  17. B

It’s a very easy going sound. The lyrics are wack but they from Malibu so what u expect? They should be happy they’re getting exposure outside of white audiences.

  21. amber

  22. mariah

  34. music lover

you cannot make it being a douchebag rapper
the vocals are good but the rap, just oh god, it hurts my ears
listening to it, pisses me off
jesus, please let that guy learn how to rap, please
with all due respect, of course, kick out the rapper.

  35. CHILL OUT

THE MUSIC IS CHILL, A COMPLEX LYRICIST IS NOT WHAT THEY NEED. THE MUSIC IS FINE, RELAXED, AND THATS THE VIBE THEY GO FOR. IF YOU LIKE IT, SHOW SUPPORT AND BUY THE CD!
