IMO, the Grammy’s was pretty wack this year. Aside from performances from Kanye and Alicia Keys, everyone else was lackluster. It was actually a bore. Anyway, this post is about the most talked about moments…

First up, Kanye West. He was pissed at Grammy producers when they tried to cut his acceptance speech short. Producers of the show played music to try to hurry him off stage as he accepted the ‘Best Rap Album of the Year’ Grammy in honor of his mother. “Come on? You’re going to play music on me,” he said as he was on stage. And then as he went to speak on his mother they still had the music playing.

“..And just to say something about my mother. I appreciate all the support, I appreciate all the prayers. It would be in good taste to stop the music then.”

When the background music stopped the crowd cheered as Kanye finished his speech dedicated to his mother, Donda West, who died late last year.

“I appreciate everything. I know you are really proud of me right now and I know you wouldn’t want me to stop. You want me to be the number one artist in the world and mama, all I’m going to do is keep making you proud. We run this.”

There was an awkward moment for Rihanna and Jay-Z as the pair scooped a Grammy for their collaboration ‘Umbrella.’ Rihanna tried to hold Jay-Z’s hand as the pair walked up to accept their award but Jay-Z quickly shook the singers hand away. Cameras then caught Rihanna throwing her hands up in the air as if to say, ‘What’s wrong?’ The pair then distanced themselves on the stage as they were presented with their trophy. The scenes were made all the more awkward by the fact that Beyonce was watching from just feet away.

Just last week Rihanna squashed rumors that she was romantically linked to the rapper. She told Cosmopolitan that she was horrified at the gossip, but she said she’d managed to ignore the whispers, thanks to Jay-Z. She said: “I felt self-conscious around him until he took me aside and said that I just had to ignore it.”

As you probably already noticed from the Grammy – Arrivals post, Nas and Kelis both rock’d clothing items that promoted Nas’ upcoming album entitled, Nigger. He spoke with CNN last night and gave insight on his attire, etc. Kelis is a ride or die chick huh?
