The album cover for Danity Kane’s sophomore album, Welcome to the Dollhouse has leaked. It seems as though the girls are really doing their thing on the new season of Making the Band 4. From all the “official” material that I’ve heard, I really like the pop sound that they are going for.
For the most part on the show, so far, the girls have been in Diddy’s good graces. Their recording process is going well and it seems as though Dollhouse is set for a March 18th release! That’s right around the corner.
Their new single is “Damaged” is doing really well right now. It’s gotten pretty good response from bloggers and is impacting radio soon. Hopefully, one of these coming episodes is about the girls shooting the video or something. I’m not too sure about what’s going on with the boys, who we recently found out has been named Day 26. On the last episode, Diddy banned the boys from the studio until they learn to mesh better as a unit.

JOJO WORKING ON 3RD ALBUM
According to her official MySpace blog, the young songstress JoJo is working on recording her third album. Here’s what JoJo had to say on the development of the new project:
I am in the process of recording my third album, presently. I hope to have it out this fall, but I will be releasing a single before then. I have written a lot of new music.
I’m glad JoJo decided to wait until she was 18 to release her third album, so that she can talk about more stuff. There’s only so much you can talk about being underage – I think that’s what holds back a lot of younger artists from really doing what they want to do, because people don’t take them seriously, and sometimes that makes it a lot harder for them to transition into adult artists.
It seems as though JoJo will release the new album via Universal Motown instead of Blackground/Universal, due to disappointment about the promotion of her last album, The High Road, which was actually a pretty impressive R&B effort. I am pretty excited to see what JoJo comes up with this time around. This should be interesting for her.
AMERIE TO SIGN WITH DEF JAM?
Recording artist Amerie is apparently making the cross from Sony Columbia to Island Def Jam, which houses such artists as Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey. In all honesty, Amerie needs something. The rumor is that Amerie was dropped from Columbia, where she released 3 albums (one overseas).
I guess that means that the third album, Because I Love It, will not see the light of day in the United States. I think that this will be good for Amerie, though, considering that she wasn’t getting the attention she needed from the other label. It really seemed as though they were jerking her around with that last project, but I guess it makes since, considering that Amerie has never been able to sell huge numbers, even with having great first singles.
Hopefully this can revive Amerie’s career. I think she’s beautiful, has an okay voice but great delivery over a track. She just needs to go ahead and get a host of A-list producers for her next project, and just bang out some hits. I think that the cross over to Def Jam may be the best thing for her. that danity kane album is not that great, it doesn’t pop & especially for having such a great title “Welcome to the Doll house” — it should have been more interesting, this loook is not working. Aundrea looks dead on the floor.. I don’t see fire. DiDDY needs to check out the industry now, BORiNG & BLAND is not cutting it.. fire is. Thats why Rihanna (the banger) is copping 4 top 20 hits per album. oh and when can we expect that darn video?

Amerie’s voice does sound strained but it’s perfect for her sound…it’s just that Beyonce parlayed it into “Crazy in Love” and that blew up and now everybody’s mind goes back to CIL whenever they hear anything GoGo. Too bad, too…The 80s are a mainstream undercurrent now, it would have been hot if Amerie could have kept her sound and done a sort of vintage disco record. I don’t think her voice sounds good on anything else…I loathe her on hooks…unfortunately, when Beyonce did that song in Amerie’s style, she officially ended Amerie’s career here.

Okay, first of all, NOBODY IS COPYING CIARA….Come on! But Amerie is the furthest thing from a copycat…In fact, she came in the game with a signature sound that had been especially crafted, using her voice, by an up and coming producer… The Washington D.C. (right?) GoGo sound…she went to college there, I think…he used Amerie as a muse and go this whole sound together… He wrote her first album…”Why don’t we fall in love” dropped and it was crazy original…a whole new sound but the same producer did Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love” and well…you know how that song blew up…So, now the sound is redundant…Amerie’s dead here…too bad, as I said…I really liked her style…

I think the girls look fab on the album cover well except Shannon them bangs are covering her whole face, I’m diggin the music and I really like MTB4. I just seen them in the recent KING issue and they doing they thing but D.Woods is really shining above and beyond the girls. She had like this big ass 3 page cover spread in the magazine plus she was in Loyd’s video last year. If an artist is underage they should only be talking about so much. It’s not about holding back. They need to stay in their place and sing/rap about age appropriate topics.
The whole blaming the record company when things go wrong for the artist has gotton out of hand. Some times, it’s simply the case of the audience not being interested in what the artist has to offer.
Amerie should be interesting. I still prefer her around the way girl sound she had when she first came out, but change can be good. Jojo just doesnt do it for me. technically she can sing but her voice always sounds as if her nose is stuffy or as if she has a head cold. She was cute when she first came out, but now her talent isnt as gonna stand out considering she isnt 13 anymore. I mean I dont think she has improved since her debut.
And I agree that the shooting should be covered. 18 injured and two dead is serious. Plus it mght have been race motivated.
