The boys from Diddy’s Making the Band 4 were on Power 99 in Philadelphia, PA today where they announced the group’s official name. The five boys, Brian Andrews, Mike McCluney, Robert Curry, Qwanell Mosley, and Willie Taylor come together to form the group Day 26.
Not sure what it means, but hey, who knew what Danity Kane meant? I guess the difference was that the name just sounded nice. I’d like to hear that radio interview to know see what the name actually means – I’m sure that’s got to be some significance behind it. In any event, you can catch Day 26, Danity Kane and Donnie all on the new season of Making the Band 4 that premiered this week on Mondays at 10 PM, EST time.

JAY-Z TO RELEASE A NEW RECORD?

So, yesterday, Jay-Z had the internet going nuts with the leak of a “new” song, “Ain’t I,” produced by long time friend and collaborator, Timbaland. DJ Clue was yelling all over it “New Jay-Z!” and “From the Blueprint 3!” and it had fans and haters alike saying everything from “Jay is back!” to “Jay needs to slow down…”
MTV has reported though, that this is a previously recorded track and that there is no confirmation that he will be releasing an album titled The Blueprint 3.
Not much a surprise though. That Timbaland track sounds like some old school stuff that he did, nothing like his new Euro sound that he’s been doing as of late. I think it would be interesting, however, if Jay-Z released something with previously recorded material and did little promotion on it, I think that would be something nice to hold his fans over. But I think The Blueprint 3 would be a little overkill, especially after American Gangster.
LIL’ WAYNE SPEAKS ON HIS NEW ALBUM
Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III has been delayed several times in the past six months, but in his first interview since his recent arrest on felony drugs and weapons charges in Arizona, the rapper promises the new album will be worth the wait.
“It’s one of those albums people are really waiting on, so I made it so that whatever is on it will stick with you forever,” he tells Billboard of the project, which has been plagued with leaks. “I’m taking my time with it. And I’m giving artists I respect and people I want to do songs with — not songs the label fixed — an opportunity to collaborate.”
“I think this album is going to be one of my best albums,” he continues. “I’m a true perfectionist. I might have to work out a deal with Universal to shoot a video to for all these songs, that’s how crazy they all are. Every one of them is a movie.”
Weezy was eager to discuss the new album, which is expected to drop in March or April via Cash Money/Universal, however, he didn’t want to comment about what went down in Arizona, where he’s been ordered to return for a Feb. 12 hearing. He simply offered: “I’ve got nothing to say about that.”
The new album’s official single, the Deezle-produced “Lollipop,” features Static and will be serviced to radio shortly. A video for it was recently shot in Las Vegas. Other guests on the set include Hurricane Chris, Corey Gunz, Tyga, Jibbs, Shanell, Kidd Kidd, Mack Maine and Lil Mama. Jim Jonsin, the Alchemist and Cool and Dre contributed production.
Wait…I think the name still SUCKS but I can see the similarities to Take 6, I’m sure that wasn’t like a winner with everyone.
Day 26 is just like Danity Kane- just some silly, mindless names to me. I understand they are suppose to carry some deep meaning, but these names miss that mark. I dont understand why Diddy keeps coming up with bands…is it just to make more dough off of a product or something? I dont know anything about Lil Wayne, but if he gonna bring it, bring it. It will be 2020 and JayZ will probably still be at it- while no one’s listening…….nothing lasts forever…..stop being greedy and enjoy your youth while you can.

Little Weasel – his way of “perfecting” his album is copying everything Jay-Z does. From his lyrics to his album covers – Wayne is Jay all day more than Jay. He probably hasn’t been able to copy American Gangster without being blatant and that’s what the hold up is. He’s already leaked mixtapes and dropped an album around Christmas and nothing has hit. When he finds the song that hits then he’ll construct his album out of it. He might as well put it out because he’s at the point of being as good as he’s going to get.
