Kelly Rowland is releasing a second single from the rerelease of her sophomore album, Ms. Kelly. “Daylight,” featuring Gym Class Heroes frontman Travis McCoy didn’t garner a whole lot of attention in the United States, but appeared on the soundtrack for a French film. “No Many, No Cry” is the new single for the March 31st release of Kelly’s album. I actually kind of like this song, and I think it would have fit in very well with the original release of the album.
Kelly is still trying to do the solo thing – but I’m really interested to see what happens with her career after this whole thing dies down. Or has it already? I really like Kelly, so I hope she can get it together.

She needs to do a Rihanna to set herself apart. Before this album, Rihanna
could have been Ashanti, Tyra B and a whole host of others. Yes she had
success with S.O.S and Unfaithful (hated IT, but will admit she took it as far
as she could) but before then she could have been Tierra Marie. But she
changed her sound a bit and her image to egdy fashionista and the spark
spread like Cali wildfire. Kelly needs ot swith up the song choices from the
midtempo because although she can sing, it often isn’t communitcated in
these kind of tracks and she needs to go with FRESH unknown producers,
not just ones who can make beats “just as good” as the big names.
I wish her all the luck in the world, and I also wish everyone would stop
with the “Beyonce” conspiracy theory. Kelly is grown. She should be
making smarter, better and savvy decisions about her career. She is
intelligent and talented enough to do it.
I really like this song. The problem is with commercial radio, not Kelly. She’s talented and working very hard. The problem is how many of you perceive her. Some of you(the public) won’t give the chick a chance…
I’m sorry, i just think that she cemented her faith when she was running around big-upping beyonce every second. I mean she was talking about beyonce while promoting her own cd! She even congratulated beyonce while accepting an award for destiny’s child work. Instead of just saying she’s off working on dreamgirls, she had to add, and it’s gone be great, yaw better give it up for my girl, she’s working so hard, blah, blah, blah….WTF!!!!!! You just wanted to yell, accept the award idiot and move the fuck on, stop praising that girl, you were just as good a artist as she….And people might say what does beyonce have to do with this? Well, they were once a part of destiny’s child, and all left and started solo careers. Everyone was routing for them all. And every second Kelly got, she was complimenting beyonce, during her own precious time for marketing her cd….that’s the stupidiest shit ever. Even if the interviewer ask her about it, say something quick and move the fuck on. She would talk about beyonce and look like a love struck child while describing her. So what do you expect, you painted a picture of how wonderful beyonce is, and people bought it, and figured she’s the better artist. Why shouldn’t they believe it, look who was saying it, her own band mate. And people naturally compare people, so it was natural that they would compare the two. She did herself a disservice. Then she sticks under them so much, like a little child, not yet grown up. It may have worked for her if they would have talked about her as much as she talked about them, but shit we know that’s now gone happen….sorry, i think anything she does from here is too little, too late. Plus even now she’s saying stupid shit like, people just love drama, people are always trying to start drama between us….NO bitch, maybe it’s just the fact that people can see what you can’t….wake up! No, wait, it’s too late, so gone ahead and sleep.
But i do like the song. Just think it’s too little too late.

I can honestly say that I really like the song. I really like Kelly and Ms Kelly was a very solid album effort. In my opinion, it is better than (dare I say it) B’Day. None of the songs were repetitive and the album was put together very well. I will say that she needs another team behind her that will promote her as they should.
TO JSCENE: I really do understand where you are coming from. But is it really that serious? Beyonce is her friend so how and why she choses to congradulate her on the success she has had is completely up to her. Some people really do have a lot of love and admiration for their friends so why is she being put down because of that?

TO#52: Kelly does sing mid-tempos very well. I think that she even has Beyonce beat in that sense, but the QUEEN of the mid-tempo is BRANDY. No one can f@$k with Brandy on a mid-tempo joint and I mean NO ONE.

I think that Kelly has a beautiful voice with a lot of vocal ability and that she sings mid-tempo songs very well. But, there even songs on her album that are so….Brandy. Listen to “Better Without You” and “Flashback” from the Ms. Kelly album and then listen to “Focus” and “Where U Wanna Be” from the Afrodisiac album and you will see what I mean. That is Brandy’s style of singing. Kelly’s songs obviously have a Brandy influence. So I will agree to disagree with you on that one because I still think that BRANDY is the QUEEN of the mid-tempo.
Oh! and Brandy’s voice is far from weak. Her lower register is definitely not to be messed with and she knows how to use her voice as an instrument to COMPLIMENT any song that she sings. Singing is not always about who can yell the loudest. It is all about CONTROL.
Love it!!! I absolutely love Kelly and the U.S. really needs to get behind her with the upcoming re-release album. Her album Ms. Kelly was one of the best albums of ’07 in my opinion, but aint nobody knew that. Support Kelly because she truly deserves it, but people dont want to give her any credit because she’s not the same artist like Beyonce. Beyonce is hair swinging uptempo, and Kelly is mid-tempo, ballad and straight r&b. So deal with it.

Kelly not getting support has nothing to do with the Knowles or Beyonce. They promoted the album, the video’s came out and all ya’ll could talk about was how she should be doing well but won’t. Ya’ll won’t buy her CD’s. So, stop trying to act like you feel sorry for her. People love Beyonce, because of her undeniable talents, Jscene, not because Kelly or anyone else told us to. People love to talk about how great someone is but won’t support them, but don’t support them.
