Even though this isn’t the first single from Keri Hilson’s debut album, In A Perfect World…, I am so excited that new material is finally leaking from the album. Keri has been working so hard on the debut, which features productions from Timbaland, Polow Da Don, Danjahandz and more. “Get It Girl” is a fun female-empowering, up-tempo track and it’s off Timbaland’s first mobile album for Verizon Wireless subscribers.
I am super excited. This isn’t my first encounter with “Get It Girl.” I was dancing super hard in the seat of the car the first time it got played for me. Be sure to check for In A Perfect World… this summer.

THe song sounds like everything else on the radio, it sounds like something Ciara would sing im not impressed. Keri has a fantastic voice and she should showcase her vocal and writing skills!!!
I cant stand Timberland, so if hes producing the album i probably wont buy it. I find his music is very generic and commercial.

A friend of mine put me on to Keri Hilson 2 years ago and I’ve been a fan ever since. She really is a true talent but I don’t think this pop inspired track does her any justice. I’ve heard some really hot ballads from here and I hate the fact that they’re trying to make her into a POP artist.

I can definitely see how Brian would like this. However, I don’t hear a hit. I actually haven’t heard anything from her that’s a hit…. that she didn’t pen for someone else that is.

Man, I really love Keri but I absolutely can’t stand this song, it’s really generic and stupid. I have also heard her song “Slow Dance” and that was not good either. All of her guest spots have been amazing (especially “After Love” and “Miscommunication”) so I just hope she comes with something better than this for the album.

@#30. Agreed. I’m also fed up with Timbaland’s production. All of his stuff sounds the same to me. I really don’t see what all the hype is about for this guy, nor his pip squeak partner Justin Timberdouche. Btw, this song stinks. Then again, so does Brian’s taste in music.:-) With that being said, I hope Keri does well. She has the talent, looks, and hopefully the potential.

@ANGEL_MINDED but riri didn’t have that IT factor until she chopped her hair and got a different stylist. i mean she had Pon de Replay and SOS but i remember her coming to my school and no one caring about her at all. the media didn’t care about her as well. my pt. is that keri can GET that it factor just like riri got that it factor.
i’m rooting for this girl. i think she needs to hang around the right ppl though b/c no one gets famous unless they surround themselves w/the right PR ppl and have the right promotion and the right friends. that’s the way the biz works

Love Keri don’t like this song. She needs to come a little harder. Sounds like some left over Britney stuff. Danja and Royal Crown or who ever is ghosting for Timmy these days needs to leave this played out sound alone. He’s been using that kick and Snr since Ginuwines first album. But ! I love the fact that this is not blatantly Auto-Tuned. She kept a pitch error in the first verse. Love it !

I don’t think Danja did this song because Danja’s beats actually change. Listen Blackout by Britney Spears and you will see what I mean. Get Naked is a great example I would’ve never thought that was a Danja beat. Or Open Toes by Katherine McPhee Danja did both those and they don’t sound like the shit Timbo has been putting out. He also did Danity Kane’s “Pretty Boy” and that beat is so unconventional it’s sick. I think Timbo is just sticking with what people actually know him for while Danja is blazing his own trial.

No one is arguing about Danja’s production prowess. He’s actually a breath of fresh air and I particularly like what he did on Justin and Nelly’s albums. “Man Eater” was an amazing song and will still sound good 20 years from know. My gripe is with this track… It sucks. The same drum sounds, the Scott Storch Esq string parts. Its stock Timbaland and it sounds tired. Not worthy of first single material. Now in defense of Keri I think she did the best she could with this, she may not been 100% in love with the track either. She’s a writer and she made it work. For all the bells and whistles (synth parts, guitar loops etc) its falls flat. Like someone else said above she sounds 10 times better the confirmed Danja track Miscommunication. That song had like 3 chords and a drum track. Less is more sometimes.
Maybe it me, but doesn’t this music sounds rather recycle. I’ve heard this music on someone else album…probably MISSY… its WEAK and THE BEAT IS REPETITIVE
