I was randomly reading Pharrell’s blog today and peeped his post about Kelis’ video “Get Along With You”. He said: Kelis might have been a little early in her career to pull this off but she should still get credit, it was a great video! So true, and I should mention that was my jam back in the day. Weirdly, it was announced this week that Kelis will be releasing a “Hits” album featuring “Get Along With You” and many of her other innovative hits. Coincidence? I think not.
KELIS - THE HITS will feature a 14-song overview of her career. Pick up a copy on March 11th via Star Trak/Jive/Legacy.

The contemporary pieces at first glance give off a “bad girl” vibe, with plaid prints and skull patterns, leather jackets, and bustier jeans. If you caught this week’s episode of Making the Band 4, you saw that Danity Kane went toe-to-toe with Diddy and the Bad Boy A&R to fight for a different, more pop and dance-driven sound. I’ve always felt that was the direction that the girls should be taking on their new album, Welcome to the Dollhouse, due out March 18th.
“Bad Girl,” (rumored to feature Missy Elliott) was written by Mary Brown and Jimmy Beanz and produced by Danja Handz. Word is “Poetry” is one of the few ballads that is to be featured on the album.

Young Jeezy granted the wish of the winner from his “Make Your Dreams Come True” contest on Tuesday in Atlanta. The contest offered an open invitation to fans to share their dreams and aspirations with Jeezy.
The winning submission came from Tamara Jenkins-Wilson from North Carolina who wrote a heart-felt letter regarding her disabled son, Davon:
“My ultimate dream would be for me to provide a wheelchair accessible van for my son, Davon Jenkins. Davon is 13-years old and has cerebral palsy and is confined to a wheelchair. It is hard for me to provide this for him as we are a military family and I am unable to work as I have to take care of him. My husband is currently serving in Iraq so I physically lift him in and out of our vehicle when we need to go to appointments and such. Thanks so much for the opportunity.”
The Jenkins-Wilson family was presented with the wheel chair accessible van personally purchased by Jeezy, along with a personalized wardrobe for Davon.
