I dont know if yall realized this but after 400 + yrs of all forms of slavery we are finally
at the point where a black man is one of the most talked about and the most respected man in the WORLD. Im not from the states and here in Canada we already have a Black Govenor general (the equal to Dick Cheney) .
I guess all I want to say is that it is time for us to rejoice . I mean politically yall have to think and vote for the candidate that fits your political ideals but as a black woman I am proud to be living in this time were we are now living in a time where we are seen a beautiful , charming, eloquent , powerful , charismatic.
I believe now, more than ever, that our ancestor’s blood was not shed for nothing.

It seems to me that many of the candidates are piggy backing off of each other. Many of the key points in each ones policies are showing up in others. Or is that just me? I do agree that the economy is #1 in the countries issues that need to be immediatly addressed. Health care is important but if people don’t have jobs then WTF? Baracks approach on eduction will give so, so many people the opportunity to go to school. Even for those who never even thought about it.

I dont understand the No Child Left Behind act? can someone who does explain it to me please? Im not quite sure about Obama wanting to fund that again. But i do like his higher education plan being that im a college student, even tho it would benefit me by the time he went into office but i would like for more young children to get their college education. This gives them no more excuses!!!

I am on the fence with the “No Child Left Behind Act” in a weird way it brought some much needed attention to the public school systems in urban communities. I am from the Bay Area and when I was a senior in high school (2002) the schools in inner city communities tested 5 grade levels behind our white counterparts. Now because of the low numbers state wide (CA) we didn’t have to test out of high school but I don’t see where they are fixing the problem, but had it not been for the whole no child left behind know one would of known about the issue in urban public schools.

I will say, lol, that after reading this post, I’m surprised that more people haven’t begun to think twice about their support for Barack. Hillary wants to provide every working American with healthcare that not only will be guaranteed affordable, but portable?! It can’t be beat! Then, Barack wants to try to reform No Child Left Behind, the very institutionalization of the educational achievement gap in this country. Hillary, on the other hand, is aware (and realistic) enough to want to disband it.

#28 — Reform No Child Left Behind: Obama will reform No Child Left Behind, which starts by funding the law. Obama believes teachers should not be forced to spend the academic year preparing students to fill in bubbles on standardized tests. Obama will improve the assessments used to track student progress to measure readiness for college and the workplace and improve student learning in a timely, individualized manner. Obama will also improve No Child Left Behind’s accountability system so that we are supporting schools that need improvement, rather than punishing them.

- Why Obama’s plan is better than Clinton’s plan is that it will allow children to still be taught, and get an education. Hillary wants to scrap it all together, AND PUT WHAT IN IT’S PLACE?! What will happen to all the children in school while the government takes their time trying to come up with a WHOLE NEW PLAN. What will happen is that the kids will be worst off than they are now with Hillary’s plan.

Sarah you’re right, the clinton’s are habitual liars even worse than g.w. bush. I’ve never understood the love we(blacks) have had for this couple over the years because I can’t think of a damn thing they ever did for us. When he did make the effort to inform people of the possible threats against the u.s. NO ONE LISTENED & he was accused of “WAGGING THE DOG”, like that movie, inventing national problems to divert attention away from his scandal. All the info about 911 (or what was to become 9/11) got pushed aside because this skank ass man couldn’t keep his pants closed.

Bush, got got elected & being the empty headed mofo he is, he didn’t do anything about the warnings. 9/11 happened & then came the wars.

But here’s my major point (sorry it took so long).
When g.w. bush ran for office, here’s what he said: I’M GOING TO CLEAN UP THE WHITEHOUSE, I’M GOING TO BRING BACK MORALS & VALUES, I’M GOING TO SET A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR AMERICA’S YOUTH TO FOLLOW UNLIKE OUR CURRENT ADMINISTRATION(clinton) & so on. bush used clinton’s immorality all the way to the whitehouse & alot of people bought into it. bush didn’t really have anything else to run his election on, clinton’s screw up was bush’s biggest friend. If you erase clinton’s infidelity from history, bush would not have even made it passed the 1999 primary’s, more than likely john mccain would have won & then mccain would have been beaten by al gore. Al gore would have won by a landslide, with a good economy & a good & decent president leaving office, gore wins, no iraq war.

If clinton didn’t have all his troubles, he could have focused on the potential threats against the u.s. & properly investigated everything, including those students at that flying school who were NOT interested in learning how to LAND the airplanes (that report also came in while clinton was in office). Al gore gets elected & takes over where clinton left off & maybe between the two of them they stop 9/11, it’s a stretch but maybe if clinton had kept his priorities straight he & gore could have made a difference, terrorist get stopped all the time there’s no reason why 2 smart men, the c.i.a & foreign intelligence couldn’t have stopped 9/11.

In other words both clinton & bush failed, bush is too stupid to have made a difference but clinton possibly could have.
The people who died on 9/11 deserved better, the soldiers serving in iraq & afghanistan (both living & dead) deserved better & could have gotten better.
