POLITICS: DC, MA, VA PRIMARIES RECAP

Sen. Barack Obama enjoyed continued success Tuesday after winning three Democratic primaries — District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia — for a total of 93 delegates.

CNN reports Obama’s Potomac primary wins have propelled him past Sen. Hillary Clinton in the race for delegates: Obama now has 1,238 and Clinton has 1,207.

Sen. John McCain also enjoyed a great evening. He defeated Mike Huckabee by 51% in D.C. and 26% in Maryland. For a while, though, it got pretty hot between the two in Virginia, but McCain edged Huckabee to take the state’s 60 Republican delegates.

McCain said his Democratic opponents “promise a new approach to governing, but offer only the policies of a political orthodoxy that insists the solution to government’s failures is to simply make it bigger.”

He also said of Huckabee, “He certainly keeps things interesting maybe a little too interesting at times tonight, I must confess.”

i’ve been following cnn politics very closely since super tuesday. from what i can tell (thanks to john king’s masterful use of the cnn political forecast computer), if things continue to go the way they’re going, neither candidate will get the amount of delegates needed to secure the nomination and it will be ultimately decided in a brokered convention, leaving the decision to delegates and the elusive SUPERDELEGATES.

personally, if it comes to that and the candidate that wins the popular vote (which at this point, with the amount of momentum he has, look like it will Obama) has his/her victory stolen from them because of back room convention politics, people will lose faith in the government and many democrats may lose faith in the party and vote republican.

frankly, i’m an obama supporter and if this unthinkable and widely undesirable result manifests, i don’t know what i’ll do. i don’t think i’ll ever vote republican, because that hasn’t gotten us anywhere. this is my first time being of age and voting in a presidential election, and i think that these are exciting and pivotal times. for now, i still have faith in what seems like a flawed system….. i think they’ll do the right thing if it comes down to the convention.

i hope that obama’s momentum picks up so that there will be no doubt of who the democratic presidential nominee is… he needs to win these states by MUCH bigger margins. Over 70% of each state to come… unlikely, but i’m praying for it!

he’s gotten the last 8 states by decent margins and his support grows everyday.

oh yeah :: Huckabee cracks me up. I am far from being a Republican, but he seems like a hilarious character. He loves the attention he’s getting. It is literally impossible for him to win the nomination but he refuses to drop out. he’s probably going to press on all the way to the convention just so he can steal votes from mccain. i say more power to him. he makes for great television.

i don’t want a president that’s an attention whore. they should give him a reality show and just be done with it.

Where do you get these deep, well-thought out scenerios from? What your saying is white men got together and plotted to boast Obama over Hillary and later they will come back and turn their support to McCain! You make it sound like the Republicans control the Democratic party! Don’t be so pesimistic, cutting off your nose to spite your face!

    Anyhow…

miss brown…here is the article, whether its true or not!

    Ku Klux Klan Endorses Obama
    February 7th, 2008
    by James R. Crowe

KENTUCKY – USA – Imperial Wizard, Ronald Edwards has stated that, “anything is better than Hillary Clinton.”

White Christian Supremacist group the Ku Klux Klan has endorsed Barack Obama to be the next President of the United States of America.

Speaking from his Kentucky office in Dawson Springs, the Imperial Wizard exclaimed that anything or anyone is better than having that “crazy ass bitch” as President.

This is the first time in Klan history that any member of the KKK has ever publicly supported an African American candidate for the presidency.

KKK lodges all over America have been gathering and holding rallies supporting the Black presidential candidate.

Grand Turk Cletus Monroe has also been very vocal about the election and has donated thousands of dollars to Obama’s election fund.

“The boy’s gonna do it. My Klan group has donated up to $250,000 to the Obama fund. Anything is better than Hillary Clinton. Hell I’ll even adopt a black kid from Africa before I vote for Hillary.”

“A few years back we were lynching Negroes. Now we’re gonna vote for one to be president of the US of motherfu**ing A, damn it! Anyone or anything is better than Hillary Clinton – anything!!”

Placards for Barack Obama have been put up around the Klan’s Headquarters and the KKK have announced a television ad campaign to support the African American candidate.

I think American finds itself in a pickle and Obama is the only way out! McCain and Hillary can’t end the war anymore than George Bush Sr. could bring home those prisioners of war when Jesse could! Other countries know that black Americans are not their enemies! We only fought in the wars because of the “draft” in the past and now…the military paycheck!

The KKK did NOT endorse Obama (and will never endorse any black person. They will vote for the worst white candidate before Obama). That article you read was a joke, it wasn’t real sweetie. That website is a parody of articles, SMH at you for actually believing that shit LOL. As ever.

You know now that Obama has swept all of these states, I’m starting to see a trend in the media. It seems to me that they are trying to put as much emphasis on hillary winning texas and ohio! I mean its like they are sending out an all call to whites to go out in droves and vote for her because this could be her last ditch effort to continue on. My question is, if it was Obama, would they be calling all of this attention on his campaign ?

I love Obama to death and for those that do not know Obama is mixed (alot of people do not know that) His mother is white and his father is from Kenya and that makes it all better cause he can see both sides
