IT’s easy to see it is all about the money. They could have easily casted faith evans for this part…Her voice is much closer to Etta’s style and she looks more like her, but it is about how many tickets you sell and Beyonce name is more out there than Faith is. So sad

You know whats funny, I think keyshia cole would have been better for this role for some reason too. I dont even know if she can act but from what Etta said and how they look similar to each other I think it could have worked.

I’m pretty sure Keyshia would have been fired evuantually though if she had been chosen for “creative differences”.

I thought I was the only person who felt that way…she has the look, she has a closer correlation in voice to Etta and she can be hard. She may have to take acting lessons, but Bee can’t act either so they are on the same boat. Whoever did the casting did it purely because of Bee’s popularity. I hope people come out of the movies with a sense of who Etta James really is and not “People can’t hate on Beyonce” cause that’s not what it’s about.
