Ifully understand the “Queen of Soul” perspective. Yes, the writer of Beyonce’s speech should have known better. But so should have Beyonce and her manager/Daddy. Just about every female black icon of jazz, soul, R&B, etc music was mentioned, except for Aretha. It could have been an oversight on the part of the writers and of Beyonce. Okay, you’re a fan…and it’s like a veil, really… I get that. But if you’ll go and find a tape or maybe transcript of the Oprah interview, you’ll see that not only did she grow frustrated, she was obviously put off by Oprah asking her about the Director’s having to tell her to hold back…She pretended she didn’t know what Oprah was talking about…
As for the People interview, it’s in black and white…go google it and read it…it’s obviously snappish…
