The show was good. I was glad to see that all of them are doing their thing and are positive intelligent adults. Keisha is a beautiful young woman. Uh Lisa Bonet wasn’t there because she had a baby not because she can’t stand Cosby. Uh yeah she had a baby go figure. Raven Simone is an absolutely another gorgeous young woman at 22yrs old she is doing the dern thing! She is a force to be reckoned with amongst young adults in the business. She definately has her business in order and is very focused

I used to be a Huge fan of Girlfriends but, the storylines started becoming a bit over the top for me…..I still watch it from time to time tho… Hate to see them go….dah well - I’ll catch the reruns.

Lisa Bonet would not have been there if she hadn’t had a baby….she loathes Bill and couldn’t wait to get off the show… Why do you think they created “A Different World” if she was only going to stick around for a season? Her coming back to Cosby was more about continuity and big bucks than it was about loving what she was doing…She loathes him…lol

Another one bites the dust! First ‘Soul Food’, now this!! I must say that I will miss ‘Girlfriends’…even though it never recovered after Toni left the show. Actually, the show was getting kinda wack. However, I think we’ll all miss seeing educated black women leading positive lives.

it’s weird how Joan went from the central character, having those asides like the Carrie character’s narration in Sex and the City, to just being one of the four… I started watching the show years after it had been on…I’ve seen maybe 20 episodes…and it was weird to see old reruns of Joan turning to the camera and the newer episodes at the same time… Everytime she’d do an aside I’d freak out… And, I have no idea why I’m breaking my posts up…

Am I the only one who finds MARA BROCK AKIL to be one immensely articulate and intelligent woman? That response she gave was just beautiful. I love her. Cant wait to find out what she’s working on next. BET should scoop her up for some original sitcoms. But I think ABC or some of them will get to her first.

But The Cosby Kids are really inspirations. They are such a testament to higher education and the power of a degree. They are all very well spoken, intelligent, mannered people. And that Keisha Knight Pullman is too die for. Graduate of an HBCU and just stunning. Also got much love for my girl Raven. People can say what they want but that young lady is proud member of the Talented Tenth.

UGH! I’m so upset about Girlfriends. I modeled my LIFE after that show. lol I admired how they were black professional positive black women with a good friendship. Can’t believe they would take something as positive as that off the air w/o even giving it a proper farewell. That’s effed up. Even MARTIN had a proper farewell, and it didn’t even last as long.

I knew that this would happen. Girlfriends has just not been the same without Toni Childs. Then the story lines for this season were bad and Joan is once again man-less, seen it all before.

Ever since they let Toni go Girlfriends was never the same. It really has fallen off but everyting must come to an end. It is however dissapointing that they cannot have a series finale.

Author Staci Robinson is suing The CW, its owners and some producers for $40 million for allegedly stealing the concept of her unpublished novel to create the sitcom “The Game,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The writer claims that in 2001, she had interviewed for a job as a writers assistant at Kelsey Grammer’s Gramnet Prods. when she gave a manuscript of her novel to “Game” executive producer Mara Brock Akil. The suit, filed Sept. 14, alleges that the series copies her premise and the characters in the book.

She names the CW and its owners, CBS and Warner Bros., Akil and Gramnet as defendants. Besides the hefty monetary damages, Robinson is seeking a temporary restraining order to keep the network from premiering the show on Sunday, Oct. 1.

Both the written and filmed versions center on a woman who is devoted to an NFL player, but wants to pursue her professional schooling. The show stars Tia Mowry as Melanie Barnett, who gives up Johns Hopkins Medical School in favor of a local school when her boyfriend Derwin Davis (Pooch Hall) is chosen as the new third-string wide receiver for the San Diego Sabers.

I was so excited about the Oprah episode with the “Cosby Kids.” It is so lovely to see them all grown up, well educated, and very well spoken. Too bad they can’t be the images on TV that little kids look up to, instead of the coked out, slutbag, jailbait whores of the other persuasion that is slathered all across our screens and magazines!!

I have been a fan of Girlfriends since DAY 1. The females are all so relatable and there is a little bit of us all in every one of them. I am so sad to see them go, but the storylines did kind of seem like they had no direction. The icing on the cake would be if we could get a finale with Toni Childs making a return. Can we at least have closure?

girlfriends really has run it’s course. i enjoy the re-runs on bet better than these last few seasons. why does lisa bonet always exclude herself from the group. you know they need to have an a different world reunion, i’d really like that

girlfriends being cancelled does not surprise me. The show was mediocore, teetering on boring. The writing took a slow downward spiral beginning when darnell discovered mya was cheating on him.

I Love that show it is funny and my husband and I would watch it every week. I wish we could have a write in to keep it on the air. Does anyone have any ideas on how we can save it?

Those were beautiful words from Mara, and she’s actually quite beautiful. I’ve never seen her before and always wanted to know who she was. I’ll be checking for that show she’s talking about.
And that one Idol contestant is so gorgeous. Her, along with that one really short Asian girl, are my favorites so far. I think I might watch this the whole way through.

I can not believe that “GIRLFRIENDS” is being cancelled that is pure bullsh*t. I am completely upset. One of the best african american shows is cancelled, I also think the fans deserved a proper series finale since we are the ones who keep the show being aired with the ratings.

I am glad Oprah did a reunion show for The Cosbys. They were my absolute t.v. family ever. I felt like I was growing up with them and watched probably every episode even on the A Different World. They are still very beautiful adults and look very happy. I hope to catch a repeat of the show.

Bill Cosby made it very clear to those kids, education is important. Especially if you wanna work with him. He saw Lisa going into another direction and he didn’t want that for her. Yes it sounds obessive, but he had a plan. I’m glad none of them are on Celebrity rehab. Some where upset about the comments Bill made a few years back. He just wants every kid to be a Cosby kid;So when shows like The Cosby show airs, it wouldn’t be so taboo. The Cosby show gave me something to look forward to.

I have to say that this is some VERY disturbing news. I am deeply sadened that Girlfriends is being YANKED off of the air. I watched countless re-reun of re-runs during the writers strike just so they could have the chance to come back.I hope they give us ONE last episode with some closure ….Just as soon as Joan found love…I feel like she has been hexed (lol) Will Mya and Darnell adopt the baby? What’s to come of Lynn’scareer? We’ll never see William Dent III or Jr. ……so many unanswered questions……I am truely going to miss the show. I tuned in faithfully every Monday night. I wont be watching TV on Monday’s anymore……

The character that I’m going to be playing in theater today. is the one and only Sid Vicious ( Cindy Vicious ) of the iconic dirty , punk rock band “ THE DEVILS REJECTS “ . The setting is in a dirty, dark, and very dramatic small bedroom. There’s food all over the floor, furniture’s, and even smeared all over Sid’s cloths. We can see that the room is recovering from a post – party trauma, some of the furniture is damaged like that living room table that looks more like a side walk now. Bottles of beer and cigarettes litter the trashed hotel room. It’s mid – day , but the blinds in the small room block out any light from the outside , making it look like it’s mid-night , so it looks like it’s 2 o’clock but it’s really 3 P.M . The mood of the play is very dizzy , dark , and it takes short time until the setting allows you to take everything in ( the character the mood ) .
My character Sid Vicious ( Cindy vicious ) is a white male from southern Scotland , he is quite tall at a about 6”2 ( he’s very lanky , and looks quite taller , because of his weight ) . Sid is at a very unhealthy size at only 115 pounds, making him under his healthy weight (at 165 pounds). And he’s not naturally skinny. His depression, partying, drinking, and wild life style is taking a great toll on him. You can see by his state of condition for example (most of his bones are protruding out of his body, he’s breaking out allover, and he has numerous scars and bruises all over his body). He’s a wild character so naturally he needs a wild hair style, he was born with pitch black hair, but over years he had red Mohawks, blue comb over, and even the U.K flag printed all over his head when he shaved it off .He’s only 23 years old, so he is still a lad, but his out of control life style, makes him look 15 years his senior. His walk is affected by his mood, state of mind, and physical strength, when he’s at peace he’s jumping around or kicking rocks. When he’s thinking you can always see him swaying or spinning around .He’s always sitting with one of his legs on a other making him look sleepy. When he’s standing up one leg is always crossed in front of the other, adding to his heroin chic look. He moves in a very weird, dramatic and funny way, also adding to his bad boy image. He always seems to be biting his nails , licking his lips , scratching his arms , and whipping is face with a dirty handkerchief he’s always caring . He shudders, twitches, and even raises his voices when he gets nervous. One of his master gestures is hitting himself, and waving his arms to describe things. Sid was never a smart or very educationally talented kid when he was growing up. He dropped out of high school in the 10th grade to put full effort in his rock band .In school he was known as the bad- boy, out of control rocker, and school flirt. But over the years the innocent school ticking time bomb turned into the international rock star, with a dirty reputation. In the end he will always be known as the tragic superstar, the bad – boy with the golden heart, or Cindy Vicious a product of broken start.
Sid Vicious state of mind is at total panic right now , he’s depressed and he’s pretty much lost right now. At this point he’s trying to find out where his hearts at , he wants to know what happened to his life that every time he turns he finds lies , death , and sorrow ,his motivation is a better life and answers to all his problems . He wants to understand the situation he is now, to understand why his best friend Johnny, no his brother had to take away the only thing that he truly loved away from him, forever. At this point he doesn’t know what do , he wants to forget about it , but he can’t , he wants to forgive him but he cant , he wants to bring her back , but he can’t .Everyone around him wants to help , but he wont let them in , the world feels pity over their fallen star , but they can’t do nothing but watch and pray . But he sees them as a bunch of groupies that just want to take her place, he can’t look at his friends cause he keeps on seeing Johnny, he‘s paranoid. At the start of the story, he feels like it was his fault, it was his fault that he didn’t see the warnings. He blames himself for what happened, but in the end he realizes that he had nothing to do with it he was going to get him, he was going to make sure that his brother would be behind bars for the rest of his miserable life. But he still holds something in his heart, there’s still guilt for not doing nothing when he heard her scream, he still blames himself even though he knows he was paralyzed. He finally finds out what he needs to do, even though he didn’t get all his answers. He comes out a better man.

I was able to catch the last 10 minutes of the Oprah show wit the Cosby cast. It was interesting but I didnt get a chance to see much so I can’t really comment. All I can say is that the Cosby show is gone but will never be forgotten. Every black girl thought she looked like Rudy when they were little and I must say that I did look like Rudy. I wish they would’ve had a Rudy look alike contest back in the 80’s bc I would have won.LOL.

This is just ridiculous. Based on the ratings alone and the it being the #1 show in Black household for years should be enough to DESERVE a finalie. Just out of respect to the loyal viewers of Girlfriends for all these years. Friends finale episode was on the Jumbo-tron in Time Square for crying out loud!

Everybody loves Raymond, Friends, Seinfeld all got their proper series finalie. But shows like Family Matters, Moesha, All of Us & now Girlfriends just gets the boot with no care to the fans. Black shows arent respected. The Cosby Show, Fresh Prince and A Different World all got finalies (maybe because they were all NBC shows), but if your on the CW/WB/UPN, your hit.

Fans want to finally see Joan get married and word is that they were in talks to getting Toni Childs for the series finalie. A retrospective show will do nothing but make fans more furious. It’s an insult.

Raven was only on the show 4 like a minute, i don’t even consider her part of the cast.

I love Raven. She is one of the few wealthy young people that I can honestly point to and tell my students, there is a role model. She is not naked all the time, she is classy, and can give an interview. I hope she stays the same.

I went to the studio tapings twice(Valentine’s Day when Joan and William are dating AND the season 7 premiere when Jona goes to New Orleans and meets Aaron) and it was so fun, I was looking forward to going again! I’m so upset, it was a great experience. The actors are all so great and so sweet. Tracee is gorgeous and funny in person and so is Persia(she’s so so much more beautiful in person). Keisha(Monica) is really skinny and Golden is kinda full of herself, she thinks she’s ALL THAT. I wish they didn’t cancel this show, I really loved it.

Excuse my language, but this is BULLSHIT! I’ve been following this show from the beginning and I don’t even watch shows like that except for this one and Charmed and I knew the show was ending but for them to just up and cancel it like that, that’s not even right. Mara needs to get off of her azz and at least try to get the CW to do a 30 min series finale or something so we can find out what happens.

I AM A TRUE FAN OF GIRLFIRENDS AND HAVE BEEN FROM DAY ON AND CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT IT HAS NOT BEEN THE SAME SENSE JILL JONES (TONI) LEFT/ GOT FIRED WHATEVER ALL I KNOW IS THAT ALL THE GIRLS ON THE SHOW SERVED A PURPOSE AND COULD NEVER BE REPLACED WITH ANOTHER ACTOR SO THE SHOW WAS KIND OF WACK AFTER TONI LEFT AND RUMORS OF THE SHOW BEING CANCELLED STARTED WAY BEFORE THEY CAME BACK FOR THIS LAST SEASON, BUT SOMEHOW I KNEW THIS WOULD BE IT, SAD TO SEE THEM GO BUT THE JUST ISN’T THE SAME, BUT FOR THE FANS WHO REALLY DON’T WANT TO SEE IT GO YOU CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, THEY CANCELLED JERICHO AND THE FANS FLOODED THE PHONES, EMAILS AND FAXES AND THEY BROUGHT THE SHOW BACK SO IF YOU GUYS TRULY ARE FANS AND NOT READY TO SEE IT GO, DO SOMETHING ABOUT.

#75 I’m with you. Girlfriends has not been the same since Tony left. This has been the first yr/season that I only watched a few episodes. And the episodes I did see this season, WEAK!!!

The season that seemed to focus on Lynn and her band and her lover was just irritating. It was as if they were trying to actually promote the actress who plays Lynn (don’t know her name) singing career.

I can’t wait until they start selling more seasons on DVD. There are a couple of seasons that I will definitely buy. The ratings must be down for them to pull the show without closure. Oh well.

RENEW the shit.lol I knew they show wouldn’t last with out her.she was my fav in girlfriendz.loud outspoken and funny with it. she was the Best. dont get me wrong the rest of the char are wounderful but toni was really good. if they happen to wanna do a final show scene they better have toni up there with her little gurl.
