Ashanti is back with a hot new video for the song “The Way That I Love You.” We just posted candids last week of the singer leaving the set and now the video mysteriously leaks on to the net. Hmmmm. Hopefully, you can peep it before it’s removed, because word is it isn’t supposed to premiere until sometime next week.

Rap-Up TV caught up with Ashanti on the red carpet at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party to discuss the release date for her new album, who she’s working with this time around, the video for “The Way That I Love You,” and future collaborations with Nelly.

The song is the same old “man done me wrong” song all these chicks sing. The vid was actually really interesting. I can see this being a hoodrat anthem for her like “Love” was for Keyshia Cole.

I cut it short b/c the song was quite boring. The video was aight. Together (song + video), I give it about a 6 out of 10.

I liked the video…eventhough it was nothin new I think she carried it out very well….vocally I don’t see the difference in her voice…sounds the same just added on a bit of screaming with studio behind it…unless I hear her do it better live then I’m really not impressed…song was pretty good too…..She looked nice I’m begging her not to transform to that needing blond hair stuff…she looks very pretty with just black hair…don’t fall into the media trap Ashanti.

i agree with no.54, the video isnt about her killing the man, its her thinking about killing him and living with the repercussions but in the end she chooses tyo walk away with her dignity intact. This video was fire (even though it aint up no more)…yeah Britney did the bathtub scene…but that was IT. “Everytime” (the video w/ Brit) was about her reincarnation after getting hit in the head with a camera and drowning in her tub along wit some more crazy ish. This video, on tha otha hand, is just sick. Ashanti nailed it visually and the beat is, in her words, “bananas”. When people first posted about this song I never even bothered to listen. I dunno why I clicked the play video the other day to check this out, but I’m so happy I did. Ashanti is doin somethin major with this one.
