I agree with #23. There is nothing orginal about this concept. Her vocals have improved? Okay. But I don’t hear it. Her voice is too baby-ish for this type of songs. It calls for a singer with a more natural soulful voice a la Mary J./Faith/Kelly Price/Jaguar Wright.

When I first heard the song on the radio about two weeks ago, I really dug it and to hear that it is Ashanti, I am very amazed and happy for her! She has really stepped up her vocal skills and lingo (lyrics, writing, words etc.)! I love the video as well, in that Monica (”So Gone” video) & Common video-lovin’ kinda way (the one that Kerry Washington directed) and she looks Great! But I just wished that the verses had more words before heading back to the chorus, that’s all. But, Get it Gurl!

I have bought Ashanti albums and listened to her music. I like the song and video too. However, objectively speaking, I could see how some people could think she is mediocre. I can’t see myself buying but I may download some singles if they good. Die hard Ashanti fans can stand down because the girl is still pretty fine regardless and I don’t even care enough about the girl as a person to hate. As long as she stays fine I’ll keep watching. I’m just saying I can’t see her being a legend 20 years from now.
