I love E!!! She can have a baby monkey growing from her left nostril and I’d still love her. Her concerts rock. Her albums rock. Her music is so authentic. E doesn’t have to scream on every track to get people to take notice of her. She doesn’t have to be naked or all blonded up to get people to take notice of her. She may not fit in to what is sterotypically expected of black women in the industry but she sure fits in my cd collection and my itunes quite nicely. I wish more artist had the confidence to be more of themselves. There would be way more good music to go around.

the crazyness is part of erykahs character!!! duh- dont compare her to beyonce (why is bey mentioned in every damn posr) or slutty kim k.

Erykah is one of few artists today who make great soul music! i dont care if she wears aluminium foil for clothes- i will still listen to her music because she is extremely talented and extremely intelligent.

  7. Jennifer

i could care less what she looks like, what she drinks, how she dressess…as long as she keeps making music that pushes the creative levels of what’s expected, she’ll always have a fan in moi!! Go Badu!!

  8. justice

She is weird but I like her and will be getting THAT cd!!!

  9. justice

  11. dd

    She has a nice butt.

    Her music is the shit

    J D I L L A lives!

This album is proof of it.

  12. RC

Erykah is so damn crazy..but I sort of dig that about her. Her album was not the business tho. I was only feeling two songs off of nu amerkyah. I hope part 2 is that type of album you can listen all the way through.

  13. Erykah keeps the focus on her music. Never exposing or using her Beauty or Body to get over like most female artist.

  14. BrandNew

I guess i’ll respond too lol. its refreshing to see somebody thats down to earth. She doesn’t have 12 pounds of blond hair and billion dollar dresses on (if you got it like that do what u do). It’s nice to know that you can freely you use your energy soley on your craft instead of spending half your day on your looks. I can identify more with Ms. badu any day more so than Beyonce. I don’t want to identify at alll With Kim K’s fake ass (no pun intended). Beyonce makes you sing about shit you don’t know nothing about (silk lined blazers, diamond cream facial, purple labels and shit). EB is for everybody when you think about it. i don’t think her bank roll could ever exceed the amount of knowledge she has.

@ #’s 19 and 36. I hope for the sake of all black people that you two are not black, because if you are I feel so sorry for you. You should not get upset that people are praising true blackness in it’s form. Ms. Bad to the Bone makes mostly all black people feel proud. She unlike other black female performers is Happy being Nappy and shows it at every opportunity available. Even if that means sportin’ a nappy ass afro. These other two women you mention damage the self-esteem of our up and coming females. K.K.= Butt implants, whoring for money. And Lord only knows what else?! Beyonce’= Butt pads, Breast implants, Nose jobs, Skin bleaching, Lipo Surgery, Surgery to have thinner lips, and the long, wildly untamed, BLONDE LACE WIGS!!! With the exception of K.K. not being black. I can almost forgive her because BLACK FEATURES ARE BEAUTIFUL. But Ms. Bey, shames me big time. I know there are black people that are light in complexion. Hell I know all too well. Creole is a second language here where I live, We speak it daily, Cher !!! So don’t give me that creole crap. We are what we are and we don’t try to make ourselves look whiter. We know our history and we are proud people. We accept and appreciate what God has given us. God doesn’t make mistakes or junk. Be it light skin with full lips and wide nose. We know that is also beautiful, Be it dark skin with European features, it too is also beautiful. And for the record don’t think that white people don’t see or observe when Black people do this. How embarrassing? Yes it shows that we don’t like ourselves and still think that white is shit. The sad thing is we all get talked about the same by these people. Bey has her share of white fans, but I can almost promise you that none of them would trade places with her. And she’s rich! they would rather ride this whole white thing out to the end, even being poor. Anywhoo, Ms. Badu is loved by the average black person because she reminds us to love ourselves because we are a beautiful race. She reminds folks like me that I don’t have to whiten my appearance to be excepted as beautiful. But one that takes extreme measures to do so, has a problem indeed. Ms. bey had just as much opportunity being successful pre-surgery as she does post-surgery. I thought she was beautiful and natuaral. Her talent is undeniable. There was no need to look whiter. Maybe this is why some people feel that she is fake, ya think? I guess when you’re not very comfortable in your own skin it shows. So now that the work has been done she can be more confident, I guess?

  16. Old boy

Fake ass bitch … she’s so annoying. Ya’ll believe the hype if you want. Former college beauty queen turned earth momma with fake locks. Yeah. FAKE! CONTRIVED!

  17. Pretttgrl

One of my favorite artists! Love you girl; your music, videos, interviews, and definitely concerts!! all of your albums have been hot…

  18. Jennifer

@ 78: I’ve been believing the hype from day one…former college beauty queen??? she’s still a queen…fake locs? who the heck cares?? contrived?? to some, and everyone’s entitled to their opinion…but she rules in my book!!!

  19. U CAN HATE ME NOW!

    @77
Wow was the essay neccessary? for Bey to have all this supposed surgery there seems to be pics of her posted almost everyday …hell last time I read in Us magazine white folks were saying she had her lips enlarged now she got thinner lips?LOL! I think in our strive to be “afrocentric” we can come off as hypocrits. black does not come in 1 skin color, hair color, or texture were more complex then that and I still dont inderstand the need to define it, if you truly loved “blackness” in all its glory you shoudnt be so quick to falsely accuse one of youre own! ,,sighs ignorance exhausts me,,that being said I luv me some apples and will be purchasing her album ASAP!

  20. U CAN HATE ME NOW!

and last time I checked Mary J Blidge, Faith Evans, Keysha Cole, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner hell even Etta James rocked blond wigs and weaves how come no one accuses them of trying to “look white”?

  21. moxpoe

c’mon erykah, u smokin the stuff no one knows the name of.

I’m def. cop the album, she is very creative.

  22. My - P.O.V. - is....

  23. DiamondLatrelle

Erykah Badu was being real & being herself. That’s a rarity in today’s music industry, Big Ups to Ms. Badu. Rocsi was being corny as ususal. Terrance was ok.

  24. W0NDERW0MANNN

they cut out the ‘gimme my juice’ part on tv?

  25. U CAN HATE ME NOW!

Only losers google.google, google, and call that homework

@YOU CAN HATE ME NOW! The web is full of lots of info. Although, you may not have known that. Now you do!!! So glad to help you. Maybe now you can venture off into the web world and explore some new and useful info. I dare not think that you know everything. With a name like yours coming off as shallow, small, full of yourself and confrontational. I just shared MY P.O.V. That’s all. Now about my “lingo”, It got your attention and you understood well enough to get MY P.O.V. ,yet again. LOL!!! No hating here what-so-ever! Hating you or anyone else does nothing for me. And besides, I can use that energy on something or someone that is worth it. You know what I mean, HATE ME NOW!!!? Yeah, I know you do. Anyway, Thanks for noticing lil’ ole me. It’s been fun, NO, really…it has been.LOL!!! Buh-Bye.

    peace

  30. HALCYONC

    @OLD BOY

At least she went to college, unlike some other artists who never finished high school. I appreciate someone who can speak for themselves and don’t need a team to answer the question “what is your favorite color?”
