it’s definitely dfferent…hopefully it’s not as dark on television. to the people with negative comments, rappers can’t win for losing. i’m not a jay-z superfan, nor am i a superartistic or a video critic…but i have to respect this video…we complain time and time again about women showing their asses in videos and just seeing video hoes and then when someone puts something out their that doesn’t have that, we don’t like that either. the video matches the song well…each girl has their vice…something that gets them high…and i love the fact that it was actually a video for the song…not about the artist. you barely saw jay-z at all. i don’t think the video sucks i just think it’s differents from the exploitation we’ve been seeing and we don’t even realize how brainwashed we are…we have to start somewhere…well done jay.

I haven’t seen the video yet but the song is praise worthy (imo). I always pictured the treatment for this video to star someone like Zoe or maybe homegirl from Baby Boy to play the strung out junkie who finally gets the reality check needed to kick her habit. Can’t what to see it.

I like the song, and I will admit that there are a couple of other good singles from “American Gangster”. The album was under- rated, and over-bootlegged.

As for the video, I get the concept.

The video is dark because you have to listen to lyrics because the lyrics are dark. The song is about a girl who loves ex and take ex trips or LSD whatever drug. If you look at the video and listen to the song, it’s very vivid. Zoe is a young girl and plus MTV and BET and other music television channels have strict viewing process on what videos should be played so if they actually showed her using the drugs, that wouldn’t have been appropriate so the director just used her extacy trips vision as a clear indication of her loving the drug because it takes her on a ride.
