Michelle Williams debuts her new single from her third studio album, Unexpected. Although this will be Michelle’s third solo album (she has released the most solo albums out of her other former bandmates), it is Michelle’s first contemporary R&B release. She’s always been successful in the gospel world, but this time around, Michelle is testing her solo reign out in a different genre with a new look to boot.
“We Break the Dawn” is the new single, after a few leaked snippets from the album. Originally, fans thought that the first single would be the Ne-Yo written and Stargate-produced “Stop This Car.” But the official single is an up-tempo, feel-good track that I think is just right for Michelle’s introduction to the scene. it’s a hot track, hopefully pop radio eats it up. I love how her music so far is very classy, I haven’t heard anything with overt sexual references or anything. She’s keeping it classy and fun. Go Chelle.

I’m actually surprised at Ms, Michelle! She did a great job with this track! I would’ve never expected Michelle to sound so good in the Pop/Dance genre but she does! If this is what we can expect from the rest of her album then I am definitely purchasing it!! GOOD JOB MICHELLE!!
I was a fan of her gospel albums and didn’t think she would stand out as an rnb singer, but this just might work for her. Love the new look also.

I really like this song. I hope that she will do well in her solo career. I believe that she is very smart, she is doing something that Kelly should have done. Michelle has completely changed her image and her style of music. That is something that Kelly should have done. Kelly should have changed her whole image and her sound and maybe people would have been interested in her music career.
It sounds more pop than R&B, but either way I like it. I think it’s something different than what most were expecting. I hope she does well.
