Michelle Williams debuts her new single from her third studio album, Unexpected. Although this will be Michelle’s third solo album (she has released the most solo albums out of her other former bandmates), it is Michelle’s first contemporary R&B release. She’s always been successful in the gospel world, but this time around, Michelle is testing her solo reign out in a different genre with a new look to boot.
“We Break the Dawn” is the new single, after a few leaked snippets from the album. Originally, fans thought that the first single would be the Ne-Yo written and Stargate-produced “Stop This Car.” But the official single is an up-tempo, feel-good track that I think is just right for Michelle’s introduction to the scene. If this was Mandy Moore, or Jessica Simpson, or maybe even Jordin Sparks, I may be inclined to say HOT, but since it’s Michelle Williams, i’m very sorry, but I got to say NOT. It has too much of a bubble-gum pop sound for Michelle.

People are still trying to compare everybody to Beyonce. We get it, she is number one and doing the damn thing but does that means that nobody else cannot be successful? I mean, look at the forbes list of singers, you have beyonce and Mariah but all the others are white! They are just trying to do their thing for god sake. I understand that you have a star but don’t you feel like it is time to open your mind and try top listen to different people. its really great she found her own. she won’t fall under beyonces shadow cause it’s so different. she deserves this, because the way the industry works in groups sometime artist like beyonce, are pushed out there so much, which leave the other artist at bay.
i think the timing is great, love the single. you rock michelle. your warm heart will grab an awesome fan base, especially with this new look of yours……totally MTV material. its not rhianna but more euro pop, which is fun and the youngins, and me will listen to it.
