Meet Wynter Gordon. With R&B moving more and more in a pop direction since ’07, it seems as though a lot of music has gotten lost in translation. Wynter, a new Atlantic Records signee brings you “Surveillance,” a danceable, up-tempo track, where a girl finds herself being followed and surveyed by her jealous man.
“Surveillance” has been eating up the dance world and along with preparing her debut album, she’s also had placements on Danity Kane’s new project, Welcome to the Dollhouse (she has credits on “2 of You,” along with Adonis & Bryan-Michael Cox). The song has grown on me so much – I think maybe because it sounds like a mash-up between Keri Hilson’s “Miscommunication” and any thing from The Dream’s catalog. So what do you think? Is “Surveillance” hot or not?

If I were to just listen to the song without who sung it, I would’ve thought it was a Keri Hilson track. It sounds like it was produced by Danja anyway. It’s aiight but all that voice synthesizer tweaking will get tired after a while.
Lol yeah it does sound like somethin Keri Hilson would do. Is that a synthesizer doin that to her voice? Either that or it’s not a hi-quality version.

I’m familiar with Wynter and she actually can sing pretty good. She’s a good writer as well. This record sounds good. It was produced by Demille (Janet Jackson’s Feedback) but Keri Hilson is dope too plus she has Timbaland, Danja, and Polow.

I’m not really into this pop/r&b style of music, but I still checked it out. It’d be a fun song to dance to in a club while being surrounded by my friends. Besides that, it’s just not my thing. I liked the concept of the song. At least it wasn’t something overtly sexual or about shakin’ her @ss.
And her voice does sound similar to someone else I’ve heard. It could be Keri Hilson like others have mentioned, but so many of these singers sound the same that it could be someone else.

(From a dude’s standpoint) Thumbs Up! I think if she keeps this type of concept going she should be successful. The voice isn’t, the songs basis is cool, and the beat is hot. Plus it doesn’t hurt that she is wrapped in a pretty package. Sexy girl.

Whenever someone new comes out in the music industry, everyone rushes to compare them to someone else. Wynter doesn’t sound like anyone out right now. I’ve heard her sing in person on the Keyshia Cole tour, and she really has a great voice.
