♫ Outasight – Good Evening

Meet Outasight. Born and raised in Yonkers, New York, Outasight (Richard Andrew) was brought up by a mother who decorated the walls with records and a father who was always playing the guitar. “Constantly moving from apartment to apartment never really gave me a true sense of home, but I always found comfort in music,” says the rapper/singer. He cites his influences as: Stevie Wonder, Mos Def, Marvin Gaye and The Beetles.

Currently an emerging talent in the hip-hop scene (he has opened for artists such as Me’Shell Ndegeocello and Dead Prez), you should definitely look out for more of his music in the future..

For more music from Outasight, make sure you peep his myspace page.

  14. OMON IMO

Its good. Not too bad for someone like him. He also sounds somewhat like Kanye West. Just saying though. Still, this is fresh music.

  15. nick

  16. TtheGemini

I wasn’t expecting to hear this out of this dude…I’m feeling this track. Now I want to hear what else he got!

  17. Giggles

Its different which I like but the song isnt that appealing, its not good enough to be a single.
He has a great voice though

  18. JUDAH

Dead Prez let this dude open for them, lol? There goes their credibility. This dude sounds like a “hip hop soul” Eminem.

  19. Quart

Alright! I like it a lot. His voice is there and music is there.

  20. Chynna7296

Ok Ok, I def. can get with this. I like his sound. Keep pushing this and you will go far. I want a trial cd first. But when his album is in stores I will def look out for it.

  21. RII3RII3

  27. Micki B

I don’t particularly like the song, but his voice is weird. It sounds a little bird like. Maybe its me.

  28. Jashawn

I love the guy but people, take notes.

All the CL readers that praise this cat, most of them are white.

    For all haters, please GTH.

  29. Forest

Dude is fresh and mos def talented. I’ve been digging him every since I came across his page.

  30. Forest

Does he remind anyone else of Slim Kid Tre from Pharcyde?

  31. LAY LAY

    i like his style

  32. Tal

He is Hot, licky licky lips.

  33. brdnbutta

I like it. Think I will check out some of his other stuff. But he should rethink his name or stick with Richard Andrew.

  34. PQ

Feelin this beat and luvin this playas originality. Keep up the good work kid and keep bringin it.

  35. taynae

    nice… real nice…

  36. LULLABY

Gotta admit it, the song is nice and his voice is dope, good singer good rapper. I’d take him over most of today’s mainstream rappers anyday!

  37. Chitlin Juice Jones

I’m really feeling this guy. He works heavy with upcoming myspace super producer Dante Lewis.Esq. There the new Pete Rock and CL, Guru and Primo, Kanye and common. They make Classics.

    REAL MUSIC….NUFF SAID

  38. Sharonda

    It’s aight.I give him credit.

  39. ashleigh

im feelin it..then again im always feelin things different and new.

  40. JUDAH

    @29

LMAO, you said that most of the people praising him are white but then you said that the people that don’t like him can “go to Hell”. By your own logic, I guess that you’re white. In 5 years, this dude will drop his neo-soul dreams and become a rocker. In 20 years he’ll have his own label.

  41. Danny

I can definitely dig it. He has a point to pursuing this. Quitting his day job is by far not a fair assessment or statement. I’m muting that discordant side that could dissuade my congratulatory recognition of talent packaged in a blue eyed songstress. Nevertheless, a true talent to the genre;soul

My mind spoke, I didn’t write.

  42. Tina

Dead. The black/white issue again. Soul ain’t a black gene thing. It’s whether you grew up listening to it, or not. That’s it, done dada. Oh, and this guy sounds dope.

  43. Have Not Thought of a New User Name

I like it, I don’t know if its strong enough for a first single but it’s good better than all the other crap that’s out.

  44. JUDAH

    @44

“Soul” has nothing to do with what you grew up listening to. “Soul” is a spirit, a spirit of creativity and expression that has been associated with black people due to our ability to create something out of what seems to be nothing. There’s a difference between a spirit and a genre of music. If you like dude’s music then you like his music, but spare me with the misappropriation and the “color doesn’t matter” nonsense.

  45. Coolierasta

LOL at JUDAH, don’t hurt ‘em too bad.

  46. CapCityChick

    I can dig it!!!!

  47. Mutada al sader

Get this Shiite outta here….White people who do black music is no novelty. But he should not get a pass just because of his skin color. Check out some REAL Blue eyed soul like Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Bobby Caldwell, Michael Sembelo, Jon B, and to a lesser extent Robin Thicke..

  48. Coolness, i luv his dorky look, like u wouldn’t xpect this from him.

  49. shenna

who did the production?! does anybody know!!

  50. Bobbito

Soul isn’t a black thing. It’s not what you grew up listening. It’s what you’re born with. I like his style a lot. I wasn’t expecting to like it but it’s nice. Good music is good music. There shouldn’t be white/black conflict. If it’s good its good. If it’s not its not.

  51. divainva

Im so over the ” great white R&B artist” nonsense . Nothing stands out about him .. Can we say John Mayer ?? .

  52. albatross

john mayer? hahahaha. did u even listen to the music, obviously not. never heard john mayer wit a flow like that. plus creative new music is always needed. haters keep hatin while you fuel him to smash the scene….get em O

  53. Bobbito

John Mayer doesn’t rap…stop with the comparisons..next thing you know someone going to say he sound like JT LOL

  54. Teanna

First and foremost – The Music…. It’s fresh, it’s smooth, it’s funky, I’m def lovin it BIG time.

Secondly, Who cares what “color” he is? Has anyone here ever heard of this thing called Evolution? We’re all related… we’re all family! But this isn’t a discussion board for racial debates… it’s a comment board where ya’ll can speak your peace about his music…

My peace: OUTASIGHT’S MUSIC IS DOPE.

  55. divainva

@ 54& Obviously I listened to the song and the first thing I heard was John Mayer , so what was your point ? lol @ John Mayer not having a flow like that . So he can’t sound like John Mayer because John doesn’t rap ? You’re as dumb as you half-assed sentence you replied with. Don’t get upset with me because I dont see anything special about him . If you want to praise him, do you . You worshipping ass bandwagon jumpers on here a pathetic .

@ 55 Are you bored ? I will compare if I see or hear a comparison . He sound alot like John Mayer ( while singing, for the slow learners) . Atleast have a point if you’re going to reply.

  56. tia

im feeling it…he fits into the whole,kanye,lupe,n.e.r.d style of music that im into these days…idk,im just feeling different stuff nowadays…if you dont know about it then i like it LOL!….neway he has a nice vibe

  57. Bobbito

No biggie. I just failed to see how you could compare him to John Mayer when he is a rapper [You called him R&B..and he's not..]. You must not listen to John Mayer much. Maybe a similar version of Citizen Cope but not John Mayer LOL definitely not John.

  58. Mutada al sader

Were did all these weird ass screen names come from? All these extra-brand new posters. The label hired like 25 people to post positive comments.
