Angela Bassett (pictured with her husband Courtney B. Vance, son Slater Josiah and daughter Bronwyn Golden), was honored with a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday. Many celebrities came out to support the talented actress, including: Laurence Fishburne, Forest Whitaker, Rick Fox and more.
Here is a snippet from Angela’s speech today:
“Do you ever have one of those days? I woke up and the sun wasn’t really shining but then it burst through the clouds and it was glorious. Hallelujah!” Bassett, 49, exclaimed to the crowd at the ceremony for the 2,358th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
“I am crying now, I cried yesterday and the day before. … This day is so, so special to me.” [ read more ]

Actually do not get anything twisted. Angela Bassett is marketable, she is looked upon by many black women as a very strong black woman. She is very selective and picky, the role for Halle Berry is Monster’s ball was offered to her and she said HELL NO! she said she was not going to encourage that stereotype of ghetto black women being used up by white men…something like that. She does get a lot of scripts, even more than Halle Berry who is always complaining that she isn’t getting the right scripts or not enough. Angela does what she likes, she said she would want a part that is challenging but if you always look at her portfolio you will realize that she doesn’t play no weak link, she plays courageous women who overcome struggles. Have you seen Halle Berry in “THE THINGS WE LOST IN THE FIRE”? All she did was cry and screamed, like “PLEASE GIVE ME ANOTHER OSCAR, PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE!” lol
Angela is the best actress and deserves at least 1 Oscar, she is very talented and has a beautiful family, but I really do not care for the way she has the wig sitting on top of her head it looks too fake,her twins are cuties!
