Tiny is EXTREMELY UGLY now because she looks worn out but if you remember Xscape in its heyday, I’m sure you remember that she was always the one pushed to the front in videos. No, she wasn’t the lead because Latoscha’s voice just can’t be denied but she was absolutely the focus of their videos. She was never pretty IMO but now she looks wayyy worn out, it shows on her face (though an actual pretty woman would be just as ugly if she was wore the same rundown look) BUT before her skin seemed dingy and her eyes sagged to her chin, there absolutely WERE people who thought she was pretty enough to make several of their early videos mere Tiny soap operas. Everybody knows we respond well to lighter skin…

I think more of the rumors and stories about Tameka had women or people in general question her character more than anything. However I can’t completely denounced her comment but I don’t think black women’s attitude towards Tameka reflects her situation of the issue being colorism. I think if these rumors didn’t circulate so soon, I think alot of women would be happy for Usher marrying a woman who is not the typical model chick. Also Denzel has married a dark skin woman and people give him praise for that and also Samuel L. Jackson for marrying dark skin woman. So in some cases the “colorism” does play a factor but not always. So her comment to me was an overstatement pertaining to her situation.

I’ll put it this way, nothing will make me believe you people find this woman ugly… I just don’t believe you, AT ALL. I posted the 32nd comment before I read your last post. But, I still stand by what I said…I think Tameka was 100% right in her assessment… As for Denzel and Samuel, though people absolutely denigrate Denzel’s wife, their situations are a bit different. Denzel and Samuel were married/involved BEFORE they became superstars… And, they came into their superstardom years before the media cultivated this sort of national obsession with celebrities… we didn’t see them, in other words… But Usher was a sex symbol…he rose to fame as a sex symbol and yeah, we absolutely expect that a black man who’s THAT desirable will act like all the others…the attractive entertainers and athletes… And, I think bashing Tameka was a way of bashing ourselves…we hate her/ourselves because we aren’t the archetype …and maybe there’s a bit of subconscious jealousy too…

Honestly, I think the REAL issue is this. People see her as ugly not because of her age or being dark, its not the physical. I believe the ugliness of her inside gives off a vibe externally. I mean indirectly saying she just aint right. Something about her, I just dont like. Its like, of course there are times when your intuition is correct about a person based on whats given to you(exp: We know diddy is cocky and enjoys ego strokes, Keyshia Cole has issues with men because of her past, Alicia Keys is a genuinely humble person) we dont have to sit and hang out with them to determine these conclusions. At the same time, it can differ but its rare. In this case, I’m sticking to my intuition. I just dont like people just to not like them. There is always something there.
With that said, in comparison to her, Usher he is still a baby (he likes older women) possibly he has the Oedipus syndome (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oedipus ) and he likes her, so he’s the one who has to deal with her.
