LeBron James is the third man ever to appear on the cover of Vogue. The other two were Richard Gere (with Cindy Crawford in 1992) and George Clooney (with Gisele Bundchen in 2000). Not really feeling this cover, they couldn’t put dude in a suit? It’s Vogue for goodness sake.
Janet Jackson is featured over the newest cover Black book magazine. The star has been sick with the flu this week and had to cancel a scheduled appointment on SNL. Mariah Carey is replacing her, but I’m sure she’ll be back when she feels better. See another pic here.

Lebron is straight up perpetuating a stereotype (that of the brutal, wild savage) that helped enslave, lynch, and murder hundreds of THOUSANDS of our black men for centuries… and I’m just supposed to be content because he made it onto “massa’s” magazine?! i’m not sure i like the janet cover. i took a class about advertising where i learned that the media often portrays minority women, especially black ones, as animals. by having her in a cage, i think the picture is just proof of that. it’s definitely creative and artistic, but i wonder if it means something more…
