MUSIC NEWS: N.E.R.D. ALBUM NEWS / TIFFANY EVANS SPEAKS / LIL’ MAMA ALBUM NEWS
Tuesday, March 4, 2008

N.E.R.D. (Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo and Shae Haley) have revealed that they are ready to release their 3rd studio album, Seeing Sounds (in reference to a neurological phenomenon called Synesthesia) at the end of June.
The new single, “Everyone Nose,” a sly reference to girls and cocaine in the club scene, has been doing rather well amongst bloggers and fans. This will be N.E.R.D’s first time working as a group since 2004’s Fly Or Die.

So what took these Virginia natives so long to get the new sound together? Well, The Neptunes have just wrapped working on Madonna’s new album, Hard Candy, which is going for a more urban sound. But in an interview with Pharrell last October, with MTV, he was quoted saying:
“We’re just waiting for the right sounds,” comparing making music to going fishing. “You fish for it every day, and either you get it or you don’t,” he said. “And sometimes I have to wait. What I usually do with the N.E.R.D. albums is we wait a lot.”
I’m excited. I’ve always been a huge fan of N.E.R.D. and The Neptunes productions, since Kelis made her splash onto the scene with “Caught Out There.” I’m hoping that their album will drop when they say - Star Trak Music has a history of pushing back albums left and right. Remember The Evolution of Robin Thicke?
TIFFANY EVANS SPEAKS

The 15-year old songstress Tiffany Evans speaks out about her new single, “I’m Grown,” featuring Bow Wow, for which she just released a video for.
“So, I see there is a lot of great things being said about the song… and the video and I’ve been getting great feedback, so I’m very happy about that. So, I’m just going to address the negative things that are being said. Some people say : “How can you be 15 and grown?” or I’m sending out the wrong message to young people or people around the world. Well, I’m going to address any and everyone who has a problem with what I feel…
First of all, ‘I’m Grown’ is not about being Fresh or going out and doing things that older people do. It’s not about being able to go to the club, it’s not about disobeying your mother and father, it’s not about being able to pop-lock and drop it all over the place… clearly a lot of you don’t understand what I’m saying so I’m going to explain it in the best way possible for those who don’t get it as fast as others.
When I say I’m grown… I truly am. It’s not an opinion. It’s a fact. I have been through so much in the past 6 years of my life. Nobody knows what I have been through in my life, only those who have been in the struggle with me really know. I have learned a lot about things that I didn’t know when I first started. I have grown spiritually, mentally and physically. God has brought me through so much, through hell and high water and I am blessed enough to have a foundation in my life to help me learn from my mistakes and just to be their through everything good and bad.”

LIL’ MAMA ALBUM NEWS

(WIREIMAGE)
According to our good friends over at Rap-Up.com, Lil’ Mama finally has a release date from her debut album, Voice of the Young People, which has already had three singles, the popular single “Lip Gloss,” “G-Slide Tour Bus” and the new smash single, “Shawty, Get Loose!” featuring hook-king T-Pain and the young R&B crooner, Chris Brown.
VYP, the long awaited debut, is set to release April 29th. It’s about time! With the growing popularity of “Shawty, Get Loose!” and its video, I am happy to see that Lil’ Mama is getting the push she needs. Nowadays, you can find Mama as a judge on MTV’s hit dance show, America’s Best Dance Crew.
I actually really like Lil’ Mama for some reason. I think she’s very age appropriate and I just love her presence and her energy. I’m hoping that she does well.

I have Synesthesia so that aspect of the album appeals to me. However I was classed as ‘wierd’ for having it.

@ JUDAH
I haven’t even peeped her videos. Something about her just seems “off” to me though. Plus I tried to look her up and if I’m not wrong, is she supposed to be 17? I don’t believe that. I watch that dance show that she judges on and nothing about her says 17. Not even her voice. Weird. Btw, did you check out that movie I was telling you about?
@ 76
What is Synesthesia? I looked it up, but it was too much, Though I’d just ask you instead.

SMH It’s a damn shame that a bunch of grown ups are so dumb. Who the fuck are half of y’all to say that she ain’t grown ’cause she 15? She’s mature, paying her own bills, and doing whatever the hell she wants so regardless of what y’all so called grown ups say Tiff is grown. I mean it ain’t shit y’all can do about it so fuck off with that bullshit. And yes I’m a Tiff stan and a proud one at that.
Oh, and half y’all so called “grown ups” probably still living with y’all mamas so how grown are you?

To Tifanny Evans:I think that it was good that you address people about taking her song the they (I) did. It’s not that I was slow catching on ,but just wondering that you or if you wrote your own music like any other artist out here it will speak of your situations that you went through or I want to say “sublimial message” but it would be like Jay-z song “I Know” which is about from the conscious mind a women and man, but its really about drugs. And some people automatically would have understand what you were saying, but instead you said that it was about doing what grown folks would do, which some grown folks still don’t. Yea everyone goes through things that’s nothing to put as an excuse on- that’s life. There are people worse then what your situation was. And before you get the thinking that am Hating. lol Am not am just trying to give you contructive critism snice your trying to either appeal to teenage girls or little girls and most to nearly parents all want a good public figure to appear to there girls. And we all are human but you have to understand that these and anybody else of any age genre are your fans and they are what make you. So if you even can’t take time out to here what your fans the people who come to see and the ppl who take there childern to see you and here what they have to say. Then that’s just crazy. I understand you can only give you, but YOU KNOW what kind of business you are in so if it’s really that hard to tame your general fan base which I dont know am guessing little girl to pre-teens then how about waiting until you are 18 to release an ablum that you can fully grasp everyones attention. To understand you better. That’s the music biz either your this or that you can’t I repeat can’t be both. So it’s either little girls or adults either way how I look at it, it’s still quesitioning towards you from people childern to them. But anyways I hope you have a successful career and god bless. And have a nice day.

um such a long message first of all its not your career its hers either you support it or you dont sweetie okay im about to be 19 and i see tiff as my role model all your doin is hatin and waiting until shes 18?thats like sayin when jesus was born they had to wait for him to grow up to fully understand him..shutup they never understood him and if they did it with him theyll do it wit her.
#83 i see how grown you are…anyways the legal age is 18 but its what you have in your head and tiffany doesnt need anybody too hold her hand she can speak about whatever whenever she got the money to the brains and she pays all the bills.so hush and having a baby doesnt make you grown bitch taking care of your responsibilities make you grown ass whole luv ya tiff

Tiffany says the song is…. “not about being Fresh or going out and doing things that older people do. It’s not about being able to go to the club, it’s not about disobeying your mother and father, it’s not about being able to pop-lock and drop it all over the place…” Then why in the hell is that the ENTIRE concept of the video. When we’re watching all these activities in the video and hearing you say “I’m Grown” and not “I HAVE Grown” What in the hell are people supposed to think?! Girl bye.

Lol @ #64!!
I’m glad N.E.R.D is doin tha damn thing again. .cant wait for the new album!
The whole Tiffany Evans thing . .I understand that she was just defending herself . .the song is pretty upbeat & i guess they wanted the video to be upbeat/dance-ish too . .doesn’t mean anything .
Not saying Tiff is the only person in the world thats been thru things, but shes just speaking out on her PERSONAL experience .. I remember her from StarSearch years back [she won I believe & at that time she was homeless.] So dont dog her out ’cause of ONE song . .
Lil Mama . . songs are cute . . keep doin u!

you people hating on tiff are being immature. Your so much older than her but ur arguing and trashing her. She never said she’s been through more than anyone. Her personal life was rough for her. How many of u have been homless. Your sitting back at ur house on ur computer talking bad about someone cuz of a song. Its her expression. Also in other countrys people at younger ages are considered grown. Its American standards what a person goes through is what makes them “grown up” not an exact age.
