NEW MUSIC FROM BRANDY

♫ Brandy - Dig This

Hey, Brandy fans! It’s long awaited new music from Brandy. The new track is from the upcoming Meet The Browns motion picture soundtrack and features a new sound for the singer. Personally, it doesn’t sound like classic Brandy to me, with the complex vocal arrangements and harmonies, but I still like it.

I’m assuming that Brandy is saving the real heat for the new album. A few insiders that I’ve spoken to say that Brandy’s new project is a beast, with productions from Darkchild, Bryan-Michael Cox and also some tracks penned by the talented Keri Hilson. “Dig This” is said to be produced by The Underdogs, who have garnered serious respect and success for their production of the Dreamgirls soundtrack. I’m looking forward to hearing more from Brandy.

myspace.com/foreverbrandy

Make sure you pick up the soundtrack from Tyler Perry’s latest film, Meet the Browns if you’re digging the latest from Ms. Norwood!

Yeah Brandy’s back….
This song is sooooo sick
The intro shits all over half the songs out right now alone…
The song was produced by Eric Hudson(Omarion-Entourage,Kanye West-Flashing Lights) and written by Johnta Austin(Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige)
In any event, I hope this is just a taste of what she’s bringing for the album…It’ll be Full Moon 2.0

I really like the song. As always, her vocal delivery makes the song worth the listen. It is far from her best though. But why would it be considering that the song is on a soundtrack? I am so glad that she is coming back to the scene.

Whoever said that Afrodisiac sounds like reused Aaliyah tracks obviously have not listened to the album entirely. No disrespect to the late Aaliyah but she could not have delivered those songs anywhere near the way that Brandy does. Brandy knows how to OWN any song that she sings so that no matter who produces it, it will always sound like a BRANDY record.

Furthermore, Timbaland did not produce the ENTIRE Afrodisiac album and the only song that is even slightly reminiscent of an Aaliyah record is the ONE that you were referring to “Come As You Are”. If you can think of one I may be overlooking, please let me know. OH! I would also like to know which Aaliyah song(s) it sounds like because I can’t think of one. It seems that most people obviously don’t know that “We Need a Resolution” was the only song that Tim produced off of Aaliyah’s last album.

I know Brandy can come back bc she is true talent. I still listen to Full Moon. Listen to her vocals. Not too many can get w/Brandy still. Not even Beyonce. Go Brandy!

Oops! I meant “We Need A Resolution”, “More Than A Woman”, and “I Care 4U” were the only songs he produced. NOT the whole album.

THE SONG IS ALRIGHT, AND IT DOES SOUND RECYCLED….JUST THE AVERAGE MELLOW VIBE TO IT….I DONT THINK ANYONE IS THREATENED BY BRANDY VOCALS..TO ME ITS JUST AVERAGE NOTHING TO REALLY RAVE ABOUT….SHE ALWAYS HAD GOOD MUSIC BUT HER VOCALS DOES NOTHING FOR ME, WHEN YOU THINK OF VOCALIST (BRANDY) IS ABOUT THE LAST ONE TO COME TO MIND.

I am so glad that Brandy is having some official releases and no more endless streams of underground stuff.

I really like the song but wanted her to put more into it vocally at the end of the song, but like everyone else I have been hearing that the upcoming album is going to be crazy so I’m excited and can’t wait for the release.

Do it B-Rocka!! That is a nice song. If you are not feeling the song it is because there is no cathcy hook, but she killed the song. The thing I like about Brandy is that she does her own thing. She is not trying to be like Beyonce, Ciara, Monica, or any other chick in the game. She is doing her and I am feeling it. Her vocals are great and if you really listen to the song, and not the hook she will pull you in. Listen to the words also, killing it. All I can say is that she delivered on this one and I am looking forward to a new album to drop, so I can hear some talent and something different. Not saying that the other women in the game ain’t doing their own thing, because they are - BUT they all have the same type sound. Brandy always delivers a great album from front to back.

This song couldnt have come at a better time- i’m 19 and i have a one year old son and a daughter on the way- my man stepped up and married me not only cause he loves me but cause he wants our children to have two parents together–this dude went and suprised my ass by joining the Air Force. I was like “what the fuck?” i was in shock- hes in bootcamp right now..I only spoke to him once since he’s left but he called and simply said “baby I dont want you to ever have to struggle or rely on your own money to take care of our kids- I got you baby- take care of my son and daughter- when I’m done i’m gon take u up outta ya mommas house and take care of yall the way a man should-” and that was it. I cried so damn hard

Some of you are overrating Brandy’s vocals, forreal. She’s not that great as some of you are making her seem. As an artist, she’s always been medicore, and vocally, while not bad, she’ will never be on Mary or Beyonce’s level.

Let me just correct a few of ya’ll……..This song doesn’t sound like the average RnB song………no Brandy song sounds like the average song…….everything That Brandy do is so left field of what the majority are doing…. so don’t you dare try to say that Bran’s sound is recycled…..furthermore….the song is like a mellow song……what was she supposed to do…….sing it like she singing “I WIill Always Love You”?? Come on now…….obviously for those of you who don’t know Bran’s capabilities vocally shouldn’t even speak b/c yes this girl is 1 of the best vocally period……..all of your favs will acknowledge that……..who do u think is @ the top of the list as your favs favorites????????? BRANDY……especially people who matter…….I can lists countless vocalists that mark Brandy as 1 of the vocal greats…..period……..so obvioulsly a few of you have wax piled up in the ears and need a cleaning…….Grandma always said don’t let that nasty ass wax sit in your ear like that…..maybe ya’ll just start listening!!!!! U did ur thing B-Rocka……I’m lovin’ this song and am waiting for that new bangin’ album……..Another classic to add to the collection!!!!!!!! B-Rocka 4 life******

TO JUSTSAYIN:

In my opinion Brandy’s vocals surpass Mary’s and Beyonce’s. I love the soul in Mary’s voice so don’t get me wrong. It took Mary a long time to get to the level vocally where she is now and she still is not “all that”. When Mary first came onto the scene it was not her voice that people were raving about you better believe that. It was her STREET IMAGE that captured most. And as for Beyonce while she has a lost of vocal ability, I can’t stand her voice most of the time. She choses to yell and oversing all of the time. Any one who has an ear for music knows that all of that is not necessary to be a good singer or to DELIVER a song.

That is the reason that people, like myself, rave about Brandy’s vocals. Brandy uses her voice as an instrument to COMPLIMENT the songs that she sings. She does what is necessary to make the song a good one.

^This is really true. For those of us who have followed Brandy all through her career and know each track off each album and not just the singles from ‘Brandy’, ‘Full Moon’ and ‘Never Say Never’ know how much Brandy has grown and evolved as an artist and know kinda how ridiculous it is to still expect her to be who she was when she was 15. As the original ‘Britney’ she was the epitome of bubblegum until real life got in the way and embued her with the pain and joy of real experience, she then had to grow away from that emptier music. She’s the mother of a beautiful daughter, weathered broken relationships and suffered something as harrowing as the alleged somewhat responsibility of a fatal car accident. If any of these so-called real artists have lived it’s Brandy, losing a little bit more innocence at every step while trying to still be that pure sweet soul we first took her to be. I know I haven’t remained the same unblemished soul I was when I first heard her at 13 and her true fans love the fact that neither has Brandy, she’s evolved with her audience, all of whom haven’t lived perfectly either despite probably trying to be those same ‘innocent’ people. She is one of the few rnb artists who can’t really be confined solely by that genre because her life experience won’t allow her to just get in the studio and just sing ‘touch my body’ a few times and pass it off as real music (no offence Mariah), she actually has something to say and unlike many of the artists of today has actually lived what she’s talking about and can convincingly sing about it. The people who haven’t rated Brandy since ‘Never Say Never’ I imagine haven’t ever had a negative experience and are still the same perfect people they expect her to have unrealistically remained all this time. Brandy’s a grown woman who sings to grown folk who have lived, loved, blazed, cried, hurt and healed all with an optimistic heart (I know that’s me and that that’s why I love Brandy deep). Lastly, none of this would mean a jot if her voice wasn’t truly one of the fiercest in the industry. Believe me, anyone who slept on Afrodisiac needs to revisit that album. From the intro to the outro it was like she finally stopped fronting (something Beyonce hasn’t done yet) and finally just told the truth about herself. If you couldn’t handle that truth then you truly are better off with the emotional artifice of talented but vacuous acts like Beyonce etc. Soon as life becomes other than picture perfect, Afrodisiac is THAT album.

^Meant to say:……….If you couldn’t handle that truth then you truly are better off with the emotional artifice of talented but vacuous acts like Beyonce et al who want your money and come heavy and hard with the pyrotechnics but ain’t feedin’ your heart. TRUE

Friday, March 14, 2008 /

TO TEFLON BOY:

I could not have said it better myself! Brandy is a true artist which is why she CHOSES to wait a considerable time between albums to put out something that is reflective of HER. It is not all about the money with her as it is with singers like Beyonce that put out albums simply because they are HOT right now and there is someone there that will listen to it. Every single Brandy album has been cohesive and it is evident that there has been a lot of time and effort put into each one.

People expect Brandy to be the same ‘girl’ she was when she was introduced to us. Realistically speaking, there is no human being alive that has had struggles who does not evolve between the ages of 15 and 29.

“Do you know how it feels to hurt behind closed doors and when you go outside you wonder what you’re smiling for?” Who I Am - Brandy
