I posted a snippet of this new Lloyd track in the new music review last week, but here is the full version. Lloyd’s new single, “How We Do It In the A” has a really tight, sort of retro production that I’m really liking. Lloyd definitely gained me as a fan on his last album, Street Love, with knockers like “You,” “Valentine,” and “Get It Shawty!” And I don’t hate “How We Do It In the A,” but I’m over the whole repping your set thing on songs. And the Ludacris features really isn’t doing it for me.
I’m hoping that this is just a buzz song for Lloyd to toss out while he wraps up material on the album, which is set to drop June 3rd, according to his MySpace. I just think that with the past hits that he’s had, he can come with something a little harder. We know you’re from Atlanta, Lloyd! Show us what you got!

He is definitely a cutie pie… but I believe that he always get the short end of the stick when it comes to promotion and overall attention he recieves from his parent label. He should find a new niche music wise because he is getting lost in the teeny bopper R&B crooner label.

It’s actually called “How We Do It (Around My Way)”…I downloaded it on iTunes the other day, but I still agree with everyone else. I kind of like the beat and the style, but the lyrics and content are last year’s leftovers. His voice sounds a little improved (or extra studio magic’d) because I’m usually not a fan of his vocals. Good hype song if you just rock out to the beat though.

The instrumental and the “oh” background vocals is good but I don’t like how Lloyd sung it, the lyrical melody of the song. Ludacris’ rap did nothing much for me either.

This is a great song!!! I heard it in the car the other night and it went WAYYY hard!!! Ive lived in atlanta for over a year now, and being from philly and NY i knew there would b pessimists out there that just wouldnt GET IT. When u live here its different, Atlanta is that “do it do it” city where u feel like u can accomplish anything so the song is more exciting! lol….

I absolutely love this song. I do think it could’ve been better but it’s better than a lot of the crap that we hear these days. Lloyd is fine.

Lloyd’s fine azz is so f-cked over by the music biz. Both Southside and Streetlove were off da chain in my opinion but Irv Gotti’s legal problems hurt Lloyd’s career. But he’s young and now has his own record label so he will be going places.
I love his exotic looks. Lloyd is always asked about his nationality and he says he is from a “Creole background”. He has that nice mix of Spanish, Indian and Haitian and that long silky hair which he needs to wear loose more often. Good luck Lloyd with your own record label and production company.
