What’s the difference between B’s awards with JayZ and Rhianna’s SONG with Jay-z?
I mean either way it goes Rhianna still has a Grammy and people still hate her for that. FYI– If you don’t know people voted for her so there is some people out there who like her music.

Let’s be frank here, the only fact that she’s even in the studio working on her sophomore album is because of who her sister is. She’s a nice, sweet girl, but I don’t even think she could make the final 10 on American Idol. Her vocal talent is just not there.

Come on! I can not stand for someone to use a mimicker of Black Music as a reference point for a Black Artist. This song sounds nothing like Amy Whinehouse for those who said that. And if it did sound Jazzy, Why not say it sounded like Chrisette Michele, she sings better than Amy Whinehouse, however Amy’s Production is more geared for the genre in which she is singing. Chrisettes album was too Churchy/hip hoppy, and Amy’s Back to Black joint was more Doo Wop/Early Rock and Roll or Rockabilly. But this song just songs like a blend of classical (Chords Played m9, Minor and major 7s) meets classic Rhythm and Blues not to be misconstrued with what is R&B today. I am talking about the early Rhythm and Blues that our parents listened to. Rihanna only won 1 and it was in a RAP category for a collaboration and she was nominated 6 times. Beyonce won 5 her first trip to the grammy’s as a solo artist and Rihanna only won 1 and it was thanks to Jay and the rap category. She DID NOT win for anything she did solo like album, vocal performance, etc because they know she can’t sing. So please that is the difference and it’s a huge one.

I like this song! and that part of her voice people are calling strain is really FEELING something that is lacking in alot of tracks these days. I like how she layers her upper notes similar to beyonce, good job solange.

Truth be told this is not that bad of a song. It’s actually kind of good. You can’t let the hate for her cloud good judgment however you can let it stop you from buying her album or requesting her song on the radio. She’s got the music quality up now she needs to worry about that likability factor and frankly her myspace diatribes are counterproductive if not down right dumb. You don’t get fans by telling people how much better you are than them just because your sister has a career.

Anyway she’s def more talented than Rihanna, but Rihanna has a likeable superstar quality. I would put Solange below Ashanti but Solanges bankroll on this project seems to be only something Ashanti can dream about (having already worked with Pharrell who charges a first born child… bye bye Daniel) So I guess this may not be all bad but it won’t go anywhere unless she deals with the fact that everyone hates her. She’s def trying to go alternative R n b but that’s so phony when the sound is so clearly produced to make you seem far more alternative than you are.

Solange is very underrated. It’s sad when sisters of celebrities can’t get out of their sibling’s shadow…Tamar Braxton being a really good example of that. Solange has always had a very different style from Beyonce. She was more earthy and hippy chick when she was younger, so I’m not surprised in the direction she’s trying to go. I like the song and I think it’s a good style for her. Not everybody has to stick to the formula…it’s nice when someone takes us back to when music was simple with tight harmonies and some soul, not 808’s and synthesizers.

This 60’s or Motown sound is catchy and becomming somewhat maintream. But I can appreciate the new sound. What I do not like, is the cheap beat in the background sounding like a sound effects of a horse riding on concrete in the background.

This song is on repeat and I actually don’t mind it. Her sound has definitely evolved. And if anyone doesn’t know she is releasing this music just to release it and develop
a name, from what I heard in an interview she said she’s not looking for any big breaks or fame (like her sis) she really song writes a lot. And I think she might become a really good songwriter/producer. I love it, I hope she’s happy in the place she has chosen especially with all this media scrutiny and hateratin’. It’s so sad… I love everyone at this camp. Beyonce, Solange, Kelly Rowland, and Michelle Williams. They’ve all had successful careers (one MUCH MORE than the others) and I’m so happy for all of them. One thing I’m sad about though is that Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams and anyone else at this label ceases to shine…
Beyonce had the B’Day album ride out for about 1 year to 1 1/2 years. She won grammys and had several singles chart and SOLD MILLIONS OF CDS! I was so happy because I love to see Beyonce doing well because she’s the QUEEN OF R&B.
But… as for KELLY… she had one single (”Like This”) hit the top ten on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and then everything went down hill from there… She had four videos (two that the US didnt even see!) and her CD FLOPPED BIG TIME! She only sold 86,000 copies in the first week and then fell off the Top 100 album chart. Her other single(s) ALL FAILED TO CHART! She’s only had success in the UK and I guess she’s doing her thing there… Kelly says that she’s doing her 3rd album and she says it’ll drop EARLY 2009… We’ll see about that b/c IT TOOK MS. KELLY FIVE WHOLE YEARS TO DROP AFTER SHE DID THE FIRST ONE SO I’M BETTING THAT MAYBE 2012-2013 IS WHEN THE CD WILL DROP…
Michelle Williams - I know she wanted her gospel albums to be quiet releases but now she’s created a whole new SEXIER image and she made a great video for “WBTD” and she still hasn’t seen the light of day.. There’s LITTLE TO NO PROMO FOR HER WHATSOEVER. She’s only made appearances on the red carpets of various events!!! She hasn’t even performed it yet!!!She ain’t even been on 106 and Park or TRL to debut her video that dropped two or three weeks ago!!!! Why is that???!!!
Solange - everyone knows tha first album flopped but now she’s back with her HOT first single “I Decided” and the video just dropped and she’s on tour already. Mathew Knowles has already said that she has a second single (”Sandcastle Disco”) and that the video will be shot in a month… Everything seems so concrete and laid out for her but what about the others??? I’m happy for the daughters of Mr. Knowles but someone has to see what I see as well…

I don’t know if Kelly or Michelle will EVER HAVE hugely successful careers because of how their albums have been handled. At the end of the day, Beyonce and Solange are his daughters and I feel like he pays more attention to them and kinda brushes Michelle, Kelly and all the other no-name acts on the label to the side.

I think this is a great song. I was napping yesterday afternoon and the video woke me up out of my sleep. It’s a great song definitely reminicsent of the Supremes. Great job, Lady!
