Columbia Recording Artist Lyfe Jennings will be back with his 3rd album, Lyfe Change on April 29th. According to Lyfe, he can’t wait to release Lyfe Change and is ready to establish an even deeper connection with his fans and garner new ones.
“The album is called Lyfe Change because I’m changing it up a bit,” explains Lyfe. “In the past I didn’t work with different producers, I produced and wrote most of my albums by myself. But on this project I actually worked with different producers and a few writers.”
His newest track “Midnight Train” does a play on the Gladys Knight & the Pips classic song, “Midnight Train to Georgia”. Check it out.

I met him in 2006; i told him i thought he was cute, but that i wanted to cut off his goatee…he just smiled and laughed it off….he has such a cool spirit guys, and he wants to make music we all can be proud of ……real music, classic stuff….I’m supporting him…he’s a deep brotha

What’s weird about this song is that this morning around 6:30, I usually
have random thoughts while getting ready for work and I thought about how
someone needed to re-make in some way Gladys Knight “Midnight Train to
Georgia and low and behold I check the website and see this. I like that he is
opening up to producers and song writers. I like this song. Now all he needs to
do is stop doing so much testifying after each song he sings, I know that’s his
style, but I just want to hear the music when I am in the groove.

I really like Lyfe Jennings as an artist. I had the pleasure of seeing him perform in New Orleans on three occasions. The first cd was really good. I was really disappointed in his second cd, he didn’t deliver what I expected I guess since the first one was so good. I willing to support him though. I will make sure that I listen to the whole cd before purchasing it. But he is a real straight to the heart person. A lot of male artists that are out now don’ have much substance to their music.

Can’t say that I really like him that much muscially-he’s okay. However,I did see him on Judge Hatchett and I admire him as a person. BTW he’s taller than I expected and his got a nice little “cut” (bodywise),too! NOT MAD AT THAT-LOL!

I just love him as an artist…been a fan since the first album….I agree with #6 this guy has a beautiful spirit…it just shows in his music…he talks about the real ish….and for the people who is hatin on him need to sit down an actually listen to some of his music. This man has done some yrs in the pen….and has turned his life around…it just truly show you that anyone can redeem themselves….and not all ex cons are bad people….

Just this weekend I was listing to his phoenix album and I was just telling my sister that that album had way to many covers songs that he did not do justice to, and I said “I’m just glad that he didn’t try to do a Gladys song because if he would have done midnight train to Georgia, and not done it right I would have had a fit.” and here he is wit a Gladys song that he butchered. I’m upset and with what I have herd so far I will not be purchasing his new album he gets a big fat WACK from me!

As soon as I heard the “eh eh eh”, I was like “no no no” and turned it off. Then I went back because I wanted to give him a chance, but yet I was disappointed. It sounds just like every slow song out today. I love lyfe, but not this song.

I am so in love with him, as I am with Common, Mos Def (where you been, son), and Talib Qweli….. Lyfe just puts out there, on there, and serves it up to you on a grimy (in a good way) style platter that always suits me well.
As someone said early, I agree, T-Pain Teddy Pain Tallahassee Pain, bothers the Sh$# out of me with his annoying synthesizer! And then Snoop follows with “Sexual Seduction/ Sexual Eruption”
