On Wednesday, Detroit mayor Kwame Kilpatrick, and his former chief of staff, Christine Beatty, pleaded not guilty to perjury charges regarding an affair and using taxpayer money in an attempt to cover it.
They were released on $75,000 bail each, and preliminary examination has been set for June 9. If convicted of all charges, Kilpatrick could face up to 90 years in jail.
OBAMA RELEASES TAX RETURNS
Sen. Barack Obama released seven years of tax returns on Tuesday and his campaign criticized Sen. Hillary Clinton for not releasing her 2006 returns.
In a statement, Robert Gibbs, Obama’s communications director said:
“Senator Clinton recently claimed that she’s ‘the most transparent figure in public life,’ yet she’s dragging her feet in releasing something as basic as her annual tax returns. Senator Clinton can’t claim to be vetted until she allows the public the opportunity to see her finances — particularly with respect to any investment in tax shelters.”
At a press conference Tuesday afternoon, Clinton announced she would be moving the release date of her tax returns. The documents could possibly be made public within the week.

Obama’s campaign is billing a “major” speech about the economy which the senator will deliver Thursday morning in New York City, following remarks by Republican candidate John McCain on the housing market on Tuesday and Sen. Clinton on Monday.
Kwame and his tramp skank should be kicked to the curb, run out of town on a rail and never allowed to hold public office again. He’s a liar and a cheat, she’s a hoe!

I think the whole story dealing with Kilpatrick is getting controversy because it deals with the fact that he spent an extra 2 million dollars (of taxpayers money!) to pay off the police officers who knew about his relationship with Beatty. He needs to be thrown under the jailhouse!!

I think Kwame failed to recognize the limits to his power and the limits to redemption for a Black man in America. Just cause you made it inside the big house don’t mean you get to eat at the big table. Negro shouldda realized that first and foremost.
As for CB, she’s just as dumb. Don’t these people know that you never leave a paper trail? That shows how caught up they were. Poor fool. I don’t feel a lick of sympathy for her either. I feel sorry for the wife but even sorrier for her if she’s staying for “love” or the “kids”. Kwame didn’t become this way overnight. There had to be some clue of his ways before this and she just chose to ignore the signs (as most women do). But at this point, how much more humiliation can one person face? I suppose for her there may be a good reason to. Personally, I think women like her (and Hillary), who stay after being scandalized, only do so because they have ulterior motives. t’s not always for “the kids” because I’m sure the kids have gotten their fair share on the playground already. So I’m sure she has something up her sleeve. Hell, Hillary parlayed her betrayal into a run for the Presidency and the opportunity to make history. I’m sure Mrs. Kilpatrick could do the same. A tell-all book or two perhaps? Time will tell.

Stats say that 60% of men cheat/have cheated on their wives and personally I think the number is higher for Black men. But that’s another story, I can assure you that if you’re fortunate enough to have a fine, educated, and paid Black husband, he’s getting hit on my women ALL THE TIME.

I’m suggesting, based on the allegations of his many indiscretions (which I beleive are true), that this man has a pattern of behavior that’s not likely to change just because she stays with him. Also, considering that most of the voting public in Detroit continues to re-elect the same clowns based on name recognition… will the plight of the city change once Kwame’s gone? Just a thought.
On Barack Obama:
1. Am I the only one tired of hearing Tavis Smiley whine and ride against Sen. Obama? I can’t even listen to Tom Joyner anymore. Can Tavis get out of his feelings about Barack not going to his debate long enough to listen to what his people are saying? Or does the fact that a black president takes a lot of shine away from a person who styles themselves as the mouthpiece of black America? Discuss.

Not condoning what any of these men did, but what makes Kwame’s case criminal is that both he and Christine lied to a federal grand jury, while under oath, in a lawsuit involving whistleblowing by two of Kwame’s security detailed officers. Thank You! I thought I was the only one who noticed this about Tavis. I stopped listening to the Tom Joyner morning Show ( even though I won that $1,000.00) because of him. Everytime Tavis speaks about Obama it sounds more like jealousy than anything else; staight up BITCHASSNESS! LOL.
