I have a friend from the University of Chicago who did internship at Harpo and she said she signed so much shit, and before they are hired or if they give her any idea they have to sign a document stating it is their idea and she sid you have to sign your name, she said Oprah is very, very thorough and she was telling me you will get fired in the quickness for dishonesty, because she is good to her employees.
She also says Oprah holds on to stuff for years and she does her research before any project.That person that they named who they said submitted it to Oprah would have been fired, but trust me she signed off on it being her idea and this ladywon’t get shit from Oprah.You would have heard them say the employee has been fired, Oprah worked to hard she don’t play.
My friend says she can’t even write a book or give an interview about anything at Harpo Studios even now she is gone she signed off when she got the job if so she will get sued, that’s why people don’t say shit…they sign a strict confidentialty agreement and it is thorough.

Not so sure that Oprah dots every “i” and crosses every “t” especially lately. I think it is a symptom of too many hands in too many pots. Recent examples:

1. molestation charges at her school in Africa
2. Her book club selection in which the author was a KKK member and known racist Asa Earl Carter.
3. Her book club selection in which the author James Frey fabricated his story (she went on to defend him on Larry King, however, when the pot got too hot, she invited him on her show and tore him a new asshole.
4. Her book club selection in which author Jessica Seinfield has been accused of plagiarism.

This example does not surprise me. Many interns and employers who try to move up the ranks often steal other ideas and pass them off as their own. I don’t think Oprah is sitting up in her office stealing ideas but I do think her staff is and at the end of the day, as a boss, she is responsible.
