Jurnee is a great role model for the young women of today. I wish she would get more media attention for doing some positive.

Jurnee, Raven and The Simmons sisters are doing a good job representing young black females in Hollywood. I only wish they would get the mainstream attention that these other drug-addicted, alcoholic, sex tape, famous-for-nothings females in Hollywood get.

Back to Jurnee, she is a great actress, intelligent and smart. I see her having a very successful career. She will continue to rise with time.

I’m very proud of Jurnee. She truly is a shinning example of what one can do with themselves if they the invest time and energy. I appreciate what she is doing by establishing this scholarship fund. I wish that other, more influential black celebrities, especially the females, would take a stand and show the world what a real strong black woman can do.

If black people were to learn about our history growing up, it would shape our mindsets positively, we would have a greater appreciation of self. We’d have more successful businessmen/women, doctors, lawyers, scientists, engineers, architects, the list goes on. There are so many positive black role models in the world doing great work, but the media tends to cover us in a negative light so much that everyone (and I do mean everyone) starts to think of our race in negative manner.

Black people we’ve got to support one another instead of tearing each other down, out of spite, and jealousy. Instead use their success as motivation that you can and will accomplish yours one day. We come from a long line of strong, determined, intelligent, beautiful, proud people. Don’t ever let anyone try to convince you otherwise.

Jurnee has always been and will always be my hero. She may be only a year older than me, but she’s been my role model since “Hanging with Mr. Cooper” and “Cosby.” Too bad Megan settled for being the cookie-cutter cute girl instead of taking on serious acting roles.

It’s amazing that people why “pay” religions to be members. I don’t believe in the bible, because the original bible (if there is such a thing) is lost. Way too many contradictions, violence, prejudices, you name it, are in these books. I do think that parts of the books can help bring about healthy moral grounding, but it’s selective.
Having said that, how can moneychanging be legit. So many high profile evangelist have jets, luxury cars, multmillion dollars home(s), they give gifts to one another, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, and many of them practice more sex (gay and straight) than the average human being has time for.
I am completely befuddled by the patriarchal need of the average human being to be led; just amazing.

That is truly a wonderful thing Jurnee is doing for young Africann-American women. As many posters have written earlier, people need to focus more on people like Jurnee, The Simmons Sisters and Raven who are young African-American women doing positive things instead of focusing on the trials and tribulations of people such as Kim Kardashian, Lindsey Lohan, Paris Hilton, The Spears sisters and so forth. If they focused on people such as Jurnee, Raven, and other young black sisters doing great things then maybe young African-American girls will have a different mindset and do better for themselves. As an African-American woman, I’m proud that she is doing a great thing. Keep up the excellent work girl, you’re going to definitely be a star, actually, in my opinion, you already are.

Mya’s best bet is to just stick to Broadway. She was trained in dance for many years and was doing great in Chicago before.
