After a nationwide search, it looks like Jamal Woolard (also known by his rap name Gravy) has landed the lead in the biopic Notorious, based on the life of rapper Christopher ‘Notorious B.I.G.’ Wallace, who was gunned down in 1997.
The movie also stars Angela Bassett, who will play Biggie’s mom, Voletta Wallace; Anthony Mackie as Tupac Shakur; and Derek Luke as Sean “Diddy” Combs. George Tillman Jr. will direct the film, which begins shooting March 24 in New York City.

I actually think all these actors can pull off their respective roles, but I don’t know how that Gravy dude raps or acts so I can’t speak for him. I guess we will have to wait and see. How do you feel about the casting choices?
I am happy to hear they are doing a movie. However I think the casting is a little off. While I think Anthony Mackie is a fair actor however I think they should have gotten someone that at least somewhat resembles Pac. I mean as a person who views the movie there are several things the audience relates to storyline, how close the characters came to the mannerisms of the person, and all in all resmeblence. I understand the need for using seasones actors despite the lead role. But at least get to where we can leaave the movie saying wow great acting and great casting. Just my lil 2 cents. Can’t wait for the movie.

Biggie was not all that good of a rapper, he was alright. Truth be told hate it or love it. All the real people kno who the greatest rapper of all time is 2PAC. Enough said
They are all great actors, however, I don’t see any of them playing these parts.

You don’t have to look exactly like a person to be a good person to play them. You have to display their mannerisms and personality to a T. Not stereotype them and play them only as everyone else knows them, but bring a three dimensional character to the screen. Some movies are horrible because they just casted based upon physical feature and nothing else was stellar about the production. I see this being a serious production as opposed to a cheesy film about rappers like I thought it would be. I think this film will have depth.
In the end a great film tells a great story and comes across natural, whether you know Biggie or not, this film should be just a great story portrayed well. Physical likeness means nothing if it is not portrayed well.
Yo just to point out a fact none of these actors look anything like the people there ment to be playin.. and as far as B.I.G to be the best rapper alive, yer right you must be out of your dam mind.. every rap battle tupac and biggie had, tupac won hands down…and you fools sayin rappin is all about good wording and lyrical flow, yer it is… but tupac had that and he had heart and soul 2… forget about bigge’s swagger i dnt give a fck!… yeh he could rap, but not once did i hear him spill his heart into the mic like pac.. tupac touched people with his rhymes, the only thing that came outta new york was fake ass, wannabe street thugs, thats why tupac left, . i see that this movie is based around biggie… you would get a better story with pac… i mean this dude did movies he went to prison he moved to LA he lived the dream… he had a kind heart… he never stood down to noone and and last but not least the nigga could rap!.. so this movie will be a total wash out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
