Sen. Hillary Clinton was forced to retract a claim that she landed under sniper fire during a trip to Bosnia in 1996.
In a speech earlier this month at George Washington University, Clinton said:
“I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.”
Comedian Sinbad, who traveled with singer Sheryl Crow and the First Lady to Bosnia, debunked the claim with the Washington Post following Clinton’s red-phone ad. According to Sinbad, “the only ‘red-phone’ moment was: ‘Do we eat here or at the next place?’”
The CBS video (above) emerged contradicting her account and shows Clinton and daughter Chelsea smiling and waving as they walked across the tarmac, stopping to shake hands with Bosnia’s acting president and listen to an 8-year-old girl read a poem.

………This just in from NY, they won’t rest until Paterson is out!……… A published report says that years after Gov. David Paterson said he ended an affair with a state employee, he traveled with her to South Carolina while working on Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential campaign.
The Times Union of Albany says he billed the state for the trip.
Paterson spokesman Errol Cockfield didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment today. He told the newspaper he couldn’t explain why records show Paterson and the $151,000-a-year employee were at the same inn.
Paterson succeeded Eliot Spitzer as governor on March 12 after Spitzer was implicated in a prostitution investigation. Last week Paterson acknowledged affairs with several women while his marriage was failing. He says the affairs ended several years ago.

Say what? As Sinbad put it: “What kind of president would say, ‘Hey, man, I can’t go ’cause I might get shot so I’m going to send my wife…oh, and take a guitar player and a comedian with you.’”
That last killed me. Sinbad is a fool.
She also lied about her part in negotiations regarding the IRA over in the British Isles. All she did was take tea with some Irish women while her husband did most of the work.

Oh please, wake up folks. She is a politician and like all politicians who are trying to win a seat of office, they emblish and exaggerate things as well as conveniently forget things and undercount things.
When I first heard this, as a Clinton supporter, I knew she didn’t “mispeak”. Uterly ridiculous. However just like Obama initially ‘undercounted’ just how much money he received from Rezko, how Joe Biden blatantly plagerized an entire speech and identity, and the American hero John McCain, conveniently never mentions he crashed 5 U.S. jets while in the military, I blew this off as a non-surprising political move trying to help her campaign, not expecting people to research it.
At this stage of the game, I’m not surprised people are jumping on this which I find ridiculous just as some of the fall out from Rev. Wrights speech were blown totally out of control, this just shows the type of practically impossible standards Americans hold our leaders to.
Maybe I’m just a little jaded after following politics for so long, but I am never surprised about such exaggerations or convenient calculations. For me it’s part of being a politician, and I believe a lot of Obama’s supporters are going to find out, he is not all that different from the rest of the politicians that have come before him.
You don’t mistake “sniper fire” for nothing else… if you have ever had gunshots whizzing past your head — that shit stays with you.

The truth is that Hillary can’t handle pressure when something about her goes wrong. Hillary lied and yes I agree everyone lies but it is how you handle it. Hillary is perpetuating that stereotype of women not being able to handle leadership because alot of mysogynic men think that women are too emotional and when the pressure is on a woman, they tend to want to play the victim. Not all women are like that because if I did something wrong, I stand by it period. I knew that Hillary didn’t have as much foreign policy experience as she claims. She is quick to criticize other politicians (namely Barack) in certain situations and has skeletons in her own closet.
I view this in two ways either this is a ploy to drum up some support around her about the “media picking on her again” and scrutinizing everything she says and will try to do a little “hollywood acting” damage control to get her attention and more voters.
Or this could be a case of “ooops….see what had happend was”. Maybe she didn’t think (which I don’t believe) that she would get caught in this lie ( or misstatement as some are trying to downplay it). Everything about Hillary Clinton is calculated. This smells like a plan gone bad. I’ve noticed that Hillary is “playing the game” like the men used to do it in past elections and like McCain is doing now in this election. The reason she hasn’t been able to reach as many people as she likes because she jumped on the bandwagon talking about change and is doing the same exact things that America wants to see changed when it comes to politics.
Unfortunately I predict that America will let this blow over much quicker than Obama’s most recent controversy. Some say that this is not as serious..but think for the past few months she has boasted about how she’s ready to serve as president on day 1, that she has the experience that Barack lacks, and will bring about change that McCain and the current Bush administration cannot.
So you be the judge. Obama has had to defend the statements made by some of influential people around him vs. Hillary false claims of experience. I like Hillary but I think that she will have to give up this foreign policy “experience” b.s. she’s been dishing out lately. Its shaping out that the majority of her “experience” she claims is when she was first lady in the white house. Realistically just how much power does the first lady have when it comes to policy aside from making “peaceful appearances” overseas? I know that she is very intelligent, and just might have some effective ideas if she is elected to office, my point is she has been packaging herself wrong and I’m not sure that she has enough time to revamp her image.
