U.K. singer Leona Lewis made an appearance on Oprah on Monday and performed her single “Bleeding Love” live. She also had a little sit down with Oprah and spoke on how everything that is happening now is a dream come true. Make sure to peep it.
In related news, the U.S. release of her hit album Spirit will be in stores on April 8th and the album includes two new brand new songs from Akon and Madd Scientist and completely new versions and mixes of songs from the international release. It also features Ne-Yo, Max Martin, J.R. Rotem, Stargate, and more.
I have to agree with many of the comments. She has a GREAT voice but she should not be compared to WHITNEY HOUSTON. Whitney had strength in her voice she is more like Mariah Carey with the high notes and has a air angelic voice. I love her voice but I believe the hype is there so she can be more popular. I know she will do great but i believe they need to stop the comparison. She is her own talent her own voice.
@ 57 I believe this also when she sings it seems she is making sure she hits the right note (which of course is good) but it seems as though shes not making the emotion follow through also. you can sound good with no emotions. Before I get attacked my cousin’s voice teacher told my cousin that she has that same problem. Without emotions you will later become boring.

I was rooting for her to win the X-Factor ever since I saw her audition, she has an amazing voice but I can see where people that don’t like her are coming from.
I don’t think she’s boring or has no personality, I just think she’s shy. I see her as a little girl that doesn’t really know what she’s doing but I think if we give her the benefit of the doubt and allow her to grow in a few years time she could be the next Mariah or the next Whitney. I definately belive she has the voice for it.
She’s also not in your face, she’s not a diva, she’s not gonna come at you with attitude in her videos because that’s just not Leona and I respect her for not trying to pretend to be that because I think we’d all see right through it. Leona to me is just like a regular girl from your high school that’s fulfilling her dream of singing.
Oh and to the people arguing the UK vs US thing — I’m from the UK and yeah, the US does run the music business. You’d be a fool not to realise that but the UK has contributed ALOT of good talent and especially lately. You need to realise there’s alot of talent in the UK right now that none of you know about (like Estelle already has an album under her belt from a couple of years ago and you guys only know about her from like 2 months ago) and you also need to consider the fact that the UK is proper TINY compared to the US. England is like the size of two of your states put together so of course there’s more artists in the US — there’s more people there!
