Meet KeAnthony. The Tennessee native is hitting the music scene with his new song, ‘I Thought‘, off of his debut album, A Hustla’z Story.
‘I Thought‘ is based on KeAnthony’s life growing up in the streest of Tennessee. His best friend got caught up and when faced with the possibility of an aggravated robbery charge, he turned KeAnthony in to the police, leading him to live the next eight years of his life behind bars.
The album is a self-written lyrical lullaby narrated by the singer. “It’s all reality to me,” he states. “I can’t sit down and write ‘I love you’ and not mean it. I write songs that deal with love and life.”
A Hustla’z Story features production from The Underdogs, Tank, and Scott Storch. Make sure you peep the video for ‘I Thought’ (featuring Tank) after the cut.

I think it sounds pretty good. He’s ghetto and he sticks to that formula. I can barely tell the difference between Tank and him though. He might make it but I doubt it the music industry is really about whistles and bells and this is content with a message. Appreciate the real R&B I will buy his cd

I like it, but his voice sounds too much like Tank. Either way, I feel like the whole narrative, street stroy was done all ready and very well, might I add, by Lyfe Jennings and Jaheim. I understand it’s his life but he’s gotta come with something new if he wants to get attention. If he don’t then he may as well just stick to some love ballads…cause everybody can’t be hard! LOL
He’s okay…glad his talking about other things. However, this reminds me of Anthony Hamilton’s first single “Coming from where Im from” which slaps hard. But it’s nice to see fresh faces in R&B.

I’m feelin’ it, first off he don’t sound like so many artists out there, he in that “Grown RnB” group to me lol, along with Tank n Jahiem, still thats only two other artists, and his material is different, long story short really like the song, the videos alright, but again emphasis on the material its not a love making song its a bout friendship, n anyone with good friends can relate, so loved the song.

Nashville stand up, Glad to see someone from my home doing something. He is a talent. However, I am soo tired of this subject matter. Get locked up to get out to do music and now you got credibility. I’m not feeling this song AT ALL. It is very boring. I get where he is trying to go lyrically, but who is he trying to connect with? Those that went through his “struggles” are probably not checking for an R&B artist to sing about them. I only listened to about 2 minutes or so, but the song was going nowhere vocally. I think anybody could make a record where the melody and chorus only utilize 3 notes.
I don’t mean to sound harsh for any of his fans out there but seriously. He’s going to have to do much better than this unless he just wants to get lost in the mix. And PS: I hate when singers use the N word. At least bleep it out. It throws off the whole vibe.

Sounds a bit like R. Kelly. I will give him a chance. At least he is really talking about something vs all these other songs that just give me a migraine and gas. I mean, do I need to make an album? I like it. To some of the comments that stated that it sounds like Tank, it sounds like him because it is. At the end of the track Tank is singing the background vocals. Keanthony has a completely distinctive voice from Tank. Good song nonetheless, : )
