@Elle no i think it’s the straining. i always preferred whitney b/c when whitney hit those higher notes (i don’t mean whistle register, i mean the loud belting notes), it was like water. completely fluid, natural, like she wasn’t even struggling that much. mariah’s a good singer but you could always tell that she worked to get those notes out (nothing wrong with that though b/c i work to get them out and they never come lol). same w/her whistle register notes. i think her voice suffered b/c of those things
