The long awaited track from Mariah Carey’s 11th studio album, E=MC² has finally leaked. Chicago’s B96 had the exclusive premiere of the song, and of course now it has found it’s way to the world wide web. “Migrate” is produced by Danjahandz, but T-Pain lends his vocals on a portion of the song. And Mariah’s delivery is aided by the vocoder effect. “Migrate,” however, is not slated to be released as the follow-up single to her current #1, “Touch My Body.”
I love and hate “Migrate” all at the same time. It is very radio friendly and I think would be great for Mariah to put out as a single, but something about it just leaves me cold. I think I still have the bad taste of that live performance from Saturday Night Live in my mouth. The new album will hit shelves April 15th.

Mariah is undeniably a musical genius, a superb vocalist (when the conditions are right lol) and she seems like a fairly decent person who carries herself in a respectful way (she does no harm). She’s a living legend, still doing the dang thing and trying her best. I was disappointed with TMB, Migrate does the job for a club bange. And quit wid the “I want her to do Vision of Love’ songs. Being #1 doesn’t mean shit in today’s industry. You can be #1 and have absolutely no talent. Good music really doesn’t need chart validation. At any rate the song sucks just like TMB.
yeah i agree there use to be a time where #1 meant something but Low was #1 for like 20 weeks, so being #1 doesnt mean anything anymore. Its hard to think of mariah songs like emotions, dreamlover, fantasy, and then think about these last two songs she put out and think how shes stunted her growth as an artist. She never goes to any new heights musically, she never tries anything new this is why she wont be remembered 50 years from now. People will remember Whitney, Madonna, and even Janet because they always stood out from the crowd, but Mariah just continues to go with the flow. she use to sound like a black girl and now when she belts she sound really white to me, Christina A has her beat by a far nowdays.

I am not convinced with Mariah anymore. After seeing 2 live performances, I am starting to think she is a studio singer now. I think she should do more age approriate songs. And put some clothes on.

Like they said, people hated on Touch My Body and now it’s #1 and passed Elvis for 2nd place of the most #1′s. There will always be Mariah haters and she’ll just continue to sell records. For the record, I love Migrate; actually a bit more than TMB. If you want ballads all the time go to Anita Baker or somebody. She’s allowed to sing up tempo songs, yall dont control her.

Mariah said she will probably release a ballad as her next single. She recognizes that a large portion of her audience likes her for the “old Mariah”…the ballad singer. But she also needs to keep up with the times. Love it or not. Mariah’s next single will also reach #1 and she will continue to break records. You have to give it to her for originality, like with Touch My Body (you tube, etc).
And about her performances…Touch My Body is not a very easy song to sing to if you think about it, because it’s so fast.
And yes, anyone can get a #1 single…but not anyone can get 18 obviously.
But then again…I am a DIE HARD Mariah fan so I may be bias
I heard the entire CD. Personally its not that Mariah shouldn’t cater to young people or whatever and ain’t nothing wrong with going to the club at any age if you enjoy it. I think that after Emancipation of Mimi, people expected Mariah to evolve, not stay in the same place or review her last ten CD’s, which is what happens here. However, there is a KILLER ballad on the CD, probably one of the best she’s ever done.
But personally, that’s the only song I liked. The rest…we’e heard it all before. I think folks are just looking for people to evolve. If ALL you can write or think or sing about at 37 is the CLUB and hanging out, and that is your life…then that’s just sad, I don’t care if you are rich and famous. Seems like a pretty empty life to me.
This so is just as weak as “touch my body”. I’m not looking forward to the album
Mariah it’s time for a make-over. Please set an example for the younger celebs who think that if they wear skimpy clothes and sing about sex that they’re talented.

There are soo many haterz in CL that I don’t think the posters have an appreciation for talent.
Mariah is one of the most talented singers to have walked the earth and she has reached beyond legendery status. We’ve heard a million of her ballads, so I don’t expect her to release more of them because if I want to hear a Mariah ballad I can listen to one of her older albums. Part of evolving as an artist involves doing things that are unexpected/strange and thats what Mimi is doing, belting out more songs would be way too predictable and that isnt what Mariah wants. Some days I do thing why doesnt she cover up? or belt the song out, but if she did do as expected that would be boring.
I do intend to buy the album, but as a die hard fan she bettter not disappoint with this album! Either way I will still admire her artistry.

I heard the preview of the album and HATERZ sit down because it is brilliant. There are some fantastic songs on the album and as a whole its just as good if not better than emancipation!

How is Mariah Carey the only “real” singer we have? I am in love with Chrisette Michelle. She has a damn good voice, and her album is great. There are plenty of singers out there that have a better voice than mariah carey, but they will never get the props or air time they deserve. I’ve seen video after video of mariah carey singing live, and she sounds horrible in each one. Why can’t people just admit that she doesn’t have the voice she used to anymore and move on? I will be honest and say that I like her album, but I won’t front and say she is still the best. She isn’t. Something is wrong with her voice to where she can’t even sing properly. It always sounds off live and it also sounds like she’s out of breath and struggling to hit high notes. Mariah Carey has talent for sure, but I’m not going to waste my time on just one artist because she’s a so called legend. There are so many other singers that people choose to ignore because they aren’t mariah or whitney. Her singles are pretty cool and I like them, but I just can never watch her sing anything live anymore. It hurts my ears.
