Kanye West pictured above during a ‘Glow In The Dark’ tour rehearsal set this week. Doesn’t it look like a dope painting of some sort? Anyway, I’m HELLA excited to see this shit (excuse my language).
The tour kicked off in Seattle Wednesday night (w/ Rihanna, Lupe, & N.E.R.D) and read what one reviewer said:
The headliner took his time, playing eighteen songs in an unbroken ninety-minute set. Half of the songs came from 2007’s Graduation, five from 2005’s Late Registration and the rest from 2004’s The College Dropout. Kanye stood alone on a stage that was made out to look like a spaceship, complete with a giant video backdrop that flashed psychedelic fractal patterns, bursting stars and moonscapes. Ostensibly, Kanye was trapped aboard a rogue ship piloted by a female version, dubbed Jane, of 2001’s HAL 9000. Kanye began with “Good Morning,” then touched on “Through the Wire,” the thematically inevitable trio of “Flashing Lights,” “Spaceship,” and “All Falls Down” and hit his climax for “Dear Mama,” during which he bowed forward on his knees and delivered an emotional monologue about following one’s dreams. The song that came immediately after Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believin’,” blasting over the PA before Kanye-in-space got his strength back to deliver “Stronger.”

I am so pressed for this concert! The week he is here in DC I will be in Vegas so me and my friends are hitting up my hometown of Philly on the 17th to see the concert. I am going to try to stay away from reviews of photos of the concert because I want to be surprised.

He’s unfortunately not coming through my area this time…hopefully the entire show is being taped for dvd release at a later date. Thank God I caught his last tour when it came through my area.

It was reported on another blog I read on the regular that Common is a part of the tour also. That line up is hot (well minus Rihanna lol). But I can see why they chose her, because of her mainstream success. Well anyway, whoever goes to the show is lucky. He won’t be coming to my area unfortunately.

A lot of REVIEWERS said RiRi looked good, but that her lip-synching was even off cue. How in the world does she think she’s an ENTERTAINER and she can’t sing even the simpliest song live? What a fraud and waste of a music career. There’s a girl out there somewhere that deserves her spot. Not surprised that she’s lip-synching since she can’t (her fans won’t even argue that), but surprised that she can’t even get that right – lmao.

this is what a reviewer from the L.A. times wrote about Rihanna:
Rihanna, the last of the three openers, can really sing, but she hadn’t found her footing Wednesday, struggling to stay in tune and project in the huge arena. It didn’t help that the bass was so distorted during her set that it shook the floor; Rihanna’s talent is for impressing without ever pushing herself, but when your own band’s amps are tuned to “assault,” you have to fight back.
The noise distracted from her troupe’s cute dance moves and shiny retro-new wave costumes, but that’s the kind of kink a touring artist works out in a few dates.
By the time she and her tour mates hit the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Monday, they should be on point and ready to push toward the ridiculous, beautiful heights of West’s heroics.

Was at the show last night in Seattle. P sucked in too much smoke from the machine, but they still KILLED it, shout out to their drummers, they did it big.
That said if you’re any soft of Kanye fan you HAVE to see this show. It’s 90 minutes of PURE Mr. West. Sickest thing I’ve ever seen.
Im going to the DALLAS show i can’t wait! bug Ye fan i saw him front row seats for my birthday in Dallas November 10th the day before his mom died ( RIP DONDA WEST).but he was amazing he’s the best concert giver hands down. :_
