After doing the horror flick One Missed Call this year, looks like Meagan Good can’t get enough of these gorey flicks and will be stepping it up in Saw V.
According to Comingsoon.net, the actress will play Luba, a city planner who comes from an extremely affluent family. Will she be a victim of one of jigsaw’s many traps? I don’t know, but the costars of these movies don’t always end up too good. I also know some of you would oddly enough – like to see Meagan go through that.
Miss Good is working on a number of projects this year, including the film The Love Guru with Mike Myers and Justin Timberlake. Saw V is set for release October 24th…
Check out the preview stills for this upcoming film starring Keke Palmer and Ice Cube. The Longshots follows the true story of Jasmine Plummer (Palmer) who, at the age of eleven, became the first female to play in Pop Warner football tournament in its 56-year history.
The movie is due for release July 25th and also stars Jill Marie Jones, Tasha Smith, and David Banner.
Indie director Melvin James announced to Blackfilm.com at the New York Comic Con that he has an all star cast for his upcoming film Caramel. Lauren London, Chingy, Meagan Good, the singing group Cherish, and Teyana Taylor are some of the folks who have been confirmed. James explains the film’s plot:
‘Caramel’ is a story that I wrote. It’s about two high school friends that grew up together in Jamaica Estates, Queens. They are best friends, and the coolest in school. It’s sort of a love story, a throwback to a film called ‘American Graffitti’. It’s about teenagers and their cars, and their cliques. It’s an all around coming of age story.

Saw is the only scary movie sequence I can appreciate. This is a good look for Megan.
Caramel should be a good movie but I’m a lil skeptical about Chingy and Teyanna being in it. I have a hard time picturing them as good actors and actresses. Lauren London is my girl though. So I will be checking it because of her.

as an avid cheesey horror flick fan, i’m happy to see megan getting her horror film esque roles on
she was good in this movie about snakes down in N.O. that’s online too…there’s a cute young black girl in Prom Night that looks like Gabby w/more top lip and less celeb styling (give her a few years though). I’m all for anything Ice Cube related (Oakland in the house!) and Keke Palmer 
Okayyy….so the whole “Cherish” group is gonna be in the movie. How random. So is Teyana. But it sounds okay, I’ll go and see it just to support a non stereotypical black film.

I’m a huge fan of the Saw series, but with Meagan in the next one, I HAVE to see it. I actually think she’s a pretty good actress (she was good in “House”), but it’s like she refuses to pick good movies for some reason.
Oh, and supposedly there were six Saw movies already planned. Will there be more? Who knows…but it looks like “Saw” may be the “Nightmare on Elm Street” of our generation.

Keke Palmer is a good actor, it’s so natural for her.
I used to like Megan Good. She came out swinging in Eve’s Bayou and just fell flat after that. Although the Saw series is a step over from the typical He Got Served kind movies, Megan’s still playing the same role…pretty girl in distress. The jogging scene in Stomp the Yard is the extent of her acting now.

Caramel sounds very fun and interesting, especially with its cast. I just hope it doesnt fall flat and generic like most coming of age movies these days. I’ll be keeping an eye out for it.

Meagan was great in Brick an indie movie that got excellent reviews. She’s Black and it’s hard for Black actresses to get decent roles and when one comes along her name isn’t the first that’s going to be mentioned for it.

The last film Caramel appears to be a straight to DVD film. They need to do a girlfriend movie so I can see how the ish was supposed to end. And yeah months later I am still mad about that too.
At 23 I said the same thing before reading these post. Can any of those people really act, okay Lauren London and Megan play the good looking sassy chicks, but that is just them being them. Any real black movies with substance damn, I need to start writing some scripts since everything appears makeable these days.
