Irreplaceable video starts with Beyonce in the house just doing things, rihanna does it to, while the guy is begging to be there. Even down to the silhouettes in the room look the same, lighting everything the same. I’ve said it time and time again, if you want to hear good music listen to 90’s R&B or go on youtube and watch old performances of Aretha, Patti, and Gladys. The music today (R&B in particular) lacks the emotion and passion it once had.

Ne-Yo is a talented writer but he just doesn’t have much of a voice and his music gets boring after a while to me.

take a bow is an amazing song and its true R&B….. but yet it is such a shame that the Urban stations in the US are not spining it like the other R&B songs out there. Artists re-release albums b/c the record company hasn’t recouped it’s investment yet. The record company foots the bill on the albums. When the album under performs in sells, the record company doesn’t make its money back. So, they opt to re-release in attempts to re-coup the money they lost on producing the album. The artist does not get paid off album sales UNLESS they wrote or produced the album. If not, then they have to grind harder in other areas just to make money. The record company, producers and retailers get paid off album sales, not the artist.

By no means is it selfish on the artists part to re-release an album. In this day and age, it’s a necessary evil. Not only that, even if the record company did break even or make money on one album, they have to find a way to recoup their investment for the other 10 artists’ albums that DID NOT sale.

if people would support the artist and actually buy the album and not download, then you’d probably see less of the re-releases and over promotion of some artists.

I think its good that Rihanna has a unique voice, its distinctive. So many women try to sing like Christina Aguilera, or Whitney or Mariah but they are forgettable because they sound like immitators.

People who have distinctive singing voices tend to standout from the bunch, you might not like Rihana’s voice but it is distinctive and thats why she sells. When you listen to a song you should be able to tell who is singing it from the voice alone, thats the sign of a more original/unique artist and Rihanna imo does that.
