NEWS: JEREMIAH WRIGHT SPEAKS
Tuesday, April 29, 2008
On Sunday, Sen. Barack Obama’s former pastor, Jeremiah Wright, told an audience of 10,000 at the 53rd annual Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner that despite what critics say, he is descriptive, not divisive, when he speaks about racial injustices.
“I describe the conditions in this country,” Wright said during the event held by the Detroit chapter of the NAACP.
Last month, during a media firestorm, Obama condemned Wright’s remarks, and on Sunday, Wright was introduced as the “hottest brother in America right now.”
“I’m not here for political reasons,” Wright said. “I’m not a politician. I know that fact will surprise many of you because many in the corporate-owned media made it seem like I am running for the Oval Office. I am not running for the Oval Office. I’ve been running for Jesus a long, long time, and I’m not tired yet.”
On Friday, Wright appeared on Bill Moyers Journal, his first broadcast interview since his controversial remarks surfaced in the press. Check out his interview and transcript. His NAACP speech is also available on YouTube.
Wright made an appearance at the National Press Club in Washington on Monday and said he will try to change national policy by “coming after” Obama if he is elected president: “I said to Barack Obama last year, ‘If you get elected, November the 5th I’m coming after you, because you’ll be representing a government whose policies grind under people.”
Wright, who was Obama’s pastor for 20 years and performed his wedding, also clarified their relationship: “I’m a pastor; he’s a member. I’m not a ’spiritual mentor.’”
During the most recent Democratic debate, Obama referred to Wright as “somebody who is associated with me that I have disowned,” but Wright objected to a question saying Obama had denounced him.
“Whoever wrote that question doesn’t read or watch the news,” Wright said. “He did not denounce me. He distanced himself from some of my remarks, like most of you, never having heard the sermon, all right? … He didn’t distance himself. He had to distance himself, because he’s a politician, from what the media was saying I had said, which was [portrayed as] anti-American. … He did, as I said, what politicians do.”

I live on the southside of Chicago, am a Black Christian, and have the utmost respect for Rev. Wright, but I genuinely wonder if he realizes the negative impact he’s having on Obama’s campaign. If he does understand his impact, why has he chosen NOW, such a pivital point in the presidential campaign, to actively garner so much media attention?
I agreed with some of Rev. Wright’s earlier statements, but after seeing his speeches today, I sincerely believe that Obama will have to distance himself from Rev. Wright in a more pronounced way.
The average American doesn’t make it a priority to be informed. The average American will not be able to differentiate between the remarks made by Rev. Wright and the personal beliefs, policies, agendas and platform of Barack Obama. Wright is doing an excellent job of alienating people by race and dividing Obama’s constituency along lines he worked long and hard to blur. This situation is getting out of control, in my opinion, and is hurting Obama’s image as a UNITER. He may lose the White vote because of it and because of Rev. Wright’s most recent comments, the Black Church vote as well.
Though I don’t completely disagree with all of Rev. Wright’s public statements and opinions (race is still a major issue in this country and we have a LONG way to go), I think he needs to be more conscious, tactful and considerate of the damage he’s leaving in his wake. Unfortunately, he’s coming across as either aloof and oblivious of his impact OR deliberate and opportunistic.
I hope and pray that this will all resolve itself decently and in order, without being a huge detriment to Obama’s chance at the White House.

Honestly, I support Rev Wright and his right to say what he does. I don’t have to agree with everything, but he has valid points on the issues. My problem is the impact this is having on Obama’s chances.
The American public is stupid. Yeah I said it. The same people that still think Iraq planned 9/11 are probablyu the same ones that think Obama is a Muslim and cares more about a flag pin than the real issues. Most of them weren’t gonna vote for him anyway, but his mainstream (WHITE) numbers are slipping mostly because of Rev Wright. They hear Rev Wright and they start to have doubts about Obama, they figure he must share the same opinions since he went to his church and was close to him.
I don’t think the whole thing is fair since Obama has not voiced those views in the past, but knowing all of that, this guy really should be laying low if he wanted to help Obama. Obama defended the man when he didn’t have to, and this dude comes out and undercuts everything Obama’s been saying. Somebody needs to talk to him and tell him to wait a few months before he ruins the only real chance we’re gonna have for a Black president for years. Cause if Obama is too Black for America, than there will NEVER be a Black president.

That dude did say that blacks and whites use different sides of the brain to learn. This mofo is crazy, I’m sorry, we’re trying to eradicate that mentality of “genetic predisposition to act/learn/be” a certain way based on race and this idiot — i tried not to call him that but — this idiot is releasing these retarded statements. I AM TOO THROUGH with him.

It’s too bad if the general public doesn’t want to hear the truth.
Why vilify this man and try to make him sacrifice his beliefs and what we all need to hear, in order to give Barack a “better” chance? As Rev. Wright said, he’s a pastor and Obama is a politician.
Everyone who’s against what Rev. Wright said needs to look a bit deeper.
I personally wouldn’t want Obama in office with a populace that chooses to still live in ignorance and shuns the defining part of him.

Go Hillary…..She will most definitely win the nomination! Reverend Wright’s prejudice ass (i could care less what anyone thinks…..this dude is a racist) just wished Obama’s campaign away!! Go take a look at the current national polls (She leads Obama and Mccain)! Yes, he’s leading in delegates….but their is no way in HOT HELL this man will be Commander In Chief of this country. He’s lost nearly every white vote, which will be needed in the general election.

As most of you have stated I agree with Rev. Wright and a lot of the issues that he talks about, however I don’t think he understands that he is hurting Obama and his chances of being our next leader. His opinion of politics could not come at a worse time. We all know the media is playing right into this, but we as voters need to seperate these comments from Obama. Rev Wright is not the one running for office, Obama is.

Folks judging this man and acting like he and Obama are one in the same….the media just wanna bring Obama down. The oppression continues…

Rev. Wright is a powerful speaker! I think that if he was going to choose a time to give this speech, it should have been after Obama won the next big states. This may have a serious outlook on what his future is going to look like with trying to become the next President. Wright made the comment that if he was to become the front runner for the Democratic party, that he was going to come after him with all of the issues that were disturbing him! And I think that would have been the best time for him to come out and show the world his stand on everything!
GO OBAMA!

I understand some of Wright’s comments but, to come out at this time when u got North Carolina and indiana on may 6… only thing he could do is hurt Obama’s campaign for those future contest. I’m pretty sure he new this, he’s a smart man, he know Obama need white america to get in the white house and alot of whites don’t like Rev wright and his views on america. so with that said, the man needs to go back under a rock and stay there until the general election.

I understand that we all have the freedom to speak but what is the real intention behind Rev. Wright’s decision to speak now.
Barack looked so defeated yesterday responding to the media and the racist pundits took to the perverbial streets yesterday with their “he looks bored” “defeated” “this is going to hurt him,” can he be elected by “white working class America” all of this ish because his former paster wants to be in the forefront. I think its a mess.
I am really hoping that Barack comes back and tells everyone Wright is Wright and I am Barack Obama.
And the black pundit last night on CNN, his name escapes me is right , Barack needs to call it like it is. Rev Wright is an individual he cannot control nor does he control him (Barack). He cannot solve the housing crisis, rise in unemployment and gas prices, loss of wages and increase in the cost of our standard of living or better our educational system so to focus on him only defeats what I (Barack) an trying to be do which is looking at the issues head on. Its my belied this will deflect Hilary’s jabbs and McCains.
He needs to be upfront and get back to the issues instead of focusing on the ramblings (although somewhat correct) of his former pastor. Fight Barack Fight!
A And I am out….the one has spoken shut the back door, get on the gloves and lets strat swinging.

I am disappointed and saddened by the reaction of black people to Reverend Wright. The Reverend is speaking the truth. But it seems like no one wants to hear it. People say they agree with what the Reverend is saying but now is not the time to say it because it will hurt Obama. When will it be the time to do so? The comments he made about black children learning differently, is true. For thousands of years the African culture went uninterrupted, until they were brought to America in chains and forced to learn the way of the white men. That being said, it takes thousands of years for evolution to happen. Black people have only been in this country for a couple of hundred. Our psyche is not the same as white people. Like the Reverend said at the NAACP conference, “Different does not mean Deficient” People of color and white people having different psyches, has been proven in Dr. Francis Cress Wiesling book “The Isis Papers” You half to ask yourself why are so many black children labeled as having ADD, why is the dropout rate for high school at 50%. If now is not the time, when will it be? Barack Obama is about change, and Reverend Wright is laying the problems out on the table so we can have change. It seems like black people are saying to hell with the message he is trying to deliver. At what cost are you willing to sacrifice the truth for. Don’t worry about what white America has to say about it, our children are suffering and we are ignoring the call to do something about it.
God blesses those, who protect the innocent, the children. Now is the time to do something about it. I don’ t know about you but I am tired of hearing about our black men killing each, about black women knocking them down. People are so caught up in the prospect of having the first black president they are forgetting the issues in the black community. Obama will not be able to snap his fingers and change things for the black community, although he probably wishes he could. Change will come when the black community realizes what time it is, we cannot depend on the government. We all know that from seeing what happened in New Orleans after hurricane Katrina. I love my black people and I want the best for all of you. At this rate the revolution will never come, please listen to what the Reverend is saying. I truly do not believe he is coming out to hurt Obama or to make himself look good. If we half to sacrifice the truth in order to appeal to the white voters, than it is not worth having a black president. If he doesn’t get the nomination because of Reverend Wright than just lets me know further that white America is not concerned about the black issues. Because the Reverend said nothing bad about white America, so what really is the problem? White America threatened by black anger.
I just heard Travis Smiley on the Tom Joyner Show and he summed it up perfectly. Black people are scared to wake up the sleeping giant. That sums up this situation perfecty. Also check out the Pat Buchannon comments that he made on MSNBC. Why were his bigot comments about Obama and black America ignored for over a month now, by the same corporation that fired Dom Imus.

I ahave heard Jeremiah Wright speak on numerous occasion from little girl to a grown woman. I salute him for going out and speaking up for the things he felt. Even though at times I did not agree with some of the things that he said. AT times he can get waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy out there but he alwyas bring it back to the sermon. He spoke up, in spite of his family is being threatened with death. In spite of FOX news showing pictures of his home. With all that said, I feel that he having a huge impact on Obama election chances. I feel that he is not doing maliciously but he reality he is.

You know I was talking to parents about this yesterday. I am all down for freedom of speech but I really think his actions were very selfish. I mean he knew for a fact that Obama was in the spotlight and that he was already getting scrutinized for every ltttle thing. And yet he still decided to say such things knowing (I believe) that people would be listening to it. As Obama’s former pastor he should have taken a moment and said ok one of my congregation members is trying to do something monumental in this country, maybe I shouldnt be so over the top. Thats just my personal opinion on the whole matter. Either way im still OBAMA all the WAY…YES WE CAN!

Jeremiah Wright needs to bounce back for a while. Some of the stuff he says may be true but not all of his opinion is true. It doesn’t matter who is in the White House, the Black community is going to have to change these key issues themselves. One man can’t change everything.

It amazes and astounds me that as a people we are more devisive than any other race. Rev. Wright was a pastor and leader in his community long before Barack Obama came along and if you listen to both men it was Obama who came to Rev. Wright for guidance when he was a community organizer. For years Rev. Wright has spoken the truth no matter who it hurts and who it offends. Right is Right and Right dont never wrong nobody. What he has said and will continue to say is the truth. Rev. Wright has been a pastor and a community leader for over 30 years. He has the right to defend himself now not when it is comfortable to others.Obama’s chances do not hinge on what Rev. Wright says it hinges on how the super delegates vote. When the Clintons needed the support of the black community who do you think they came to. We as people must not let the media trick us into falling for the okeydoke. They know all you have to do is spice up a sound bite and throw it out there and we will go crazy and divide ourselves. Such as we are doing now.

I see a lot of posts saying that Rev. Wright needs to lay low. Have u guys considered that maybe all of these functions he has been speaking at were already in his schedule long before all this chaos began? The media might be the one’s who just happen to show up at every function. Believe me, they can definitely find out what they want. And as for the interview he did on PBS this past Friday, I think any sensible person would want to come out and defend themselves after constantly seeing their image being torn down over some 20 second sound bites from a 7 year old sermon that I’m pretty sure NOONE (besides his members) would have seen if Obama wasn’t running for President. Just marinate on that for a minute. I grew up listening to this great Pastor. He was very good friends with my pastor here in Memphis and often spoke at our revivals. He’s a very awesome and powerful speaker and sincere man of GOD. I just wish everyone would stop crucifying him and look at the real villains in this case, THE MEDIA!

Although I have a problem with the theology of Reverend Wright I think he cannot be expected to keep quiet just because Obama is running for President. I think this will blow over because they will not keep going to run with this until October.
Wright was very wise to separate himself from Obama and say that he will be attacking Obama when he is President. It was a clever trick and diffused the situation. Hilary needs to find another weapon. This one is done.

I would NOT be surprised if some white republicans and dems paid wright a large lump f*n sum such that he could be magnified in his beliefs at this critical point in time during obamas campagin. This means that true, he seems to HAVE liveD by his beliefs for a long time, but why only know would it seem only so appropriate to be blown out of proportion? Slightly ironic that he is the Pastor of one of the most popular and deserving presidential candidates in running. He propally has a hidden saftey deposit box off the coast of El Salvador where Whitey is feeling it up with dolla dolla bills yall despite knowledge of the public and Obama. This whole incidence only verifies one thing to me: THE WHITE PEOPLE AND MEDIA ARE SCARED OF CHANGE AND PROGRESS MUCH LIKE THE THEME IN AMERICAN GANGASTER. BUT THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS OBAMA IS A OF COURSE NOT A GANGASTA…OR MAYBE A POLITICAL GANGSTA IF YOU WILL, AND HE GOT IT GOING ON AND WHITEY IS MAD AS F*k.

Shelby thanks for speaking the TRUTH!!!! I also grew up on the southside of Chicago and I am ashamed to see the comments by people on this site. One of our biggest issues is that we don’t want to know all the facts. We want to be spoonfed the truth instead of seeking the truth. You can not sit by and let the media think for you. You have to learn to question everything. If don’t question everything then what is your point of existing in this world. People seriously stop letting the media pull the wool over your eyes. Do you not realize that Rev. Jeremiah Wright has been speaking and will continue to speak the TRUTH, you should ask yourself where is your minister or spiritual leader on the issues of Race, Greed and Poverty. And if it is not for the people I advise you to look elsewhere for guidance. Rev. Jeremiah Wright has done so many things for OUR COMMUNITY, there is not a city block on the southside of Chicago long enough to sketch it all down on.

It amazes me that we spend so much time critizing one candiate (Obama) for the words/actions of someone else (Rev. Wright) when we have another candidate who is a “compulisive liar” and recently got caught in numerous lies…one being her lie about sniper fire in Bosnia…but we don’t talk about that!
I can’t for the life of me understand how anyone regardless of race can support such a person.
People need to wake up…you are being played by the media. There is a big case in CA courts right now and Hillary is a defendant but no one is talking about that! Stay informed and find out the facts for yourself, stop letting the media control what you think!

I like Rev. Wright and he does speak the truth, but fact is .. he’s hurting - not damaging Obama’s campaign. White people might see him as a racist and that’s not good no matter how you slice it. No, Wright doesn’t speak for Obama, but look at it this way - if HIllary were associated with a someone we felt racist (either a group or person), what would black america think of her? It’s unfair, but like the saying goes “birds of a feather flock together.” I hope Obama survives this because it’s not his fault or his responsibility to answer for Rev. Wright. But according to the polls, he is slipping and this is probably the main reason. Rev. Wright should have waited this out. Black america knows very welll what he’s been saying and agree 100%, but let’s be real, white america just can’t handle the truth.

If Wright’s words didn’t matter then this would not be up for discussion but the fact of the matter is that it does have a huge impact on Obama’s campaign. You can agree with 100% of what Wright says and still disagree with his methods and intent. I’m not a church person and he had me amening but something in the milk ain’t clean. Right now it seems really shady that at this point in time after all this time has passed that he would come out now. You have the right to defend yourself, you have the right to freedom of speech. But where I have a problem with Wright is the fact that he’s coming out right now. When Barack needs to prove himself the most because his chances are slipping and if they are as close as it seems they are then he should know how to proceed with his defense in a manner that would not harm someone who regards him as family member. He’s not running for city council this man is trying to be the POTUS.
He is harming Barack’s chances, Barack is a strong candidate on his own but its those undecided voters, those HiIlary and McCain supporters who he needs to attract and get them to vote for him and to a large majority of those people Wright will matter and stop them from casting their vote for Barack. He has
If the media hadn’t done XYZ then no his words wouldn’t matter but its out there now and we can’t just ignore it because it shouldn’t matter. Because to those who it matters to will effect the outcome and we’ll be crying and moaning about McCain or Hilary being in office and we’re living in the same bs we’ve been facing if not worse.

hhWHY? WHY? Who’s paying Wright to do this???? Why NOW??? This is heart breaking. This confirms the lack of unity in our community. This is exactly what white America wanted. Two theories: Wright is selfish and upset and wants the attention on him with his Negro Nonsense message, or this is a planned distraction from the evil forces. eg. the Clintons, Republicans… Hillary is going to take the nomination by force, which means, by any means necessary.

I still support Hillary Clinton. That being said…….I am impressed with Rev. Wright.
I watched his pbs interview with Moyers and the CNN coverage of his address to Detroit NAACP. This guy made a lot of valid points. Anyone who doubts whether they should continue to back obama because of his connection with this guy would surely give obama the benefit of doubt if they listened because Rev. Wright did not get his talking points from Obama’s camp so what he says is genuine, good and bad. That should relieve voters, wondering where Obama stands on race.
Rev. Wright did come off as hurt, defensive, but achieved a susbstanial level of clarity as to who he is and who he is not………..
I came away with a lot of respect for this guy and will continue to listen to him where and when I can. I think he is important and as relevant to the African American Community as the NAACP.

Jeremiah Wright is a fucking ignorant idiot for all of the shit he has said in the past couple of days. It kills me that people are going to see this fool and assume that all black people (or “Black Churches”) are this extreme. I understand that America is racist at its very core but this type of loud and lousy behavior does not help. It is sad that most black people in America are too dumb to realize that all that activist shit that Al Sharpton and the like try to pull only worsens race relations. White people are SCARED of us…also, most of them really don’t care that we still suffer from the effects of slavery. Therefore, screaming and shouting about racism does absolutely NOTHING….it just makes them continue to think of us as “loud” and “angry”.
I just wish we as a people would realize that constantly bringing up race hinders our progress…in a presidential race and even in the workplace. White people (no matter how liberal) generally get turned off by race being brought up…why should you care, right? Well, in the US….blacks are a MINORITY….in many situations, we will need to align ourselves with the majority to achieve certain goals (whether you like it or not).
Also, wtf was Rev. Wright sayinh about black kids learning with a different side of their brains? He should speak for himself and his kids (if he has any). I could go on and on and on and on and on and on and on about how that man wasn’t making any sense but I won’t. On that note, I just want to let everyone who left a comment praising this man know that they are just as stupid and ignorant. Thank you very much.

I actually think this might be a good thing, if you listen he took some personal jabs at Obama making some people think that the relationship is strained, at least MSNBC and CNN are reporting a strained relationship. Good! this will hopefully make some working class voters a little more at ease in voting for Obama. I mean in some of his comments he was somewhat throwing Obama under the bus, why now he could have done that weeks ago I think it’s part of the plan.

I have to say that I am shocked by how many of us are willing to sacrifice a voice that expressed the plight of what we as a people have faced and are now facing, for the thought that he is hurting Obama’s chance at the White House. If Martin, Malcolm or Evers were here today would we ask them to be quiet for the sake of politics? If you look at the civil rights movement, it was started out of the church. Rev. Wright, who I have had to hear many times over the years did not ask the media to create a ‘political sabotage” for Obama. The media is who we should be outraged at because they assume that Americans are ignorant sheep that can be led and told what to believe. This man’s name and legacy is being drug through the mud and we are asking him not to defend his own honor ? He spoke at my church on this past Sunday as he has done many times in the past and it amazed me that it looked like an Easter and Mother’s Day service rolled up into one. There were people there just to hear what this man had to say that were not members of the church. From whites to Muslims. Maybe that kind of curiosity can evoke a change in settling for the double-standard in America. If Obama has to play the game of politics then there will always be a compromise that he has to make, but don’t hold a pastor to the same rule.

Wow some of these comments seem like people are asking this Black man to shut up and kiss the master feet. Wow is that what we have become. I personally do not care for Pastor Wright but some of the comments from Black people are like we are stepping back into the slavery fields. A majority of the comments sound like they are telling a slave to shut up so massa will not get mad at the house negro so they can keep getting the gift they think we are going to get tossed. Or as if to say shut up pastor wright so whites will not think we are all like that because you know one negro they see as bad they will label us all like that so please lets stay on their good side for which they have the control. Just sad to see. Its like a minority bowing down to the master lol comical and sad at the same time. If some of the MINORITY as some say would have sided with the MAJORITY we would have never got some of the rights we deserved so some people need to speak wisely.
And no I am not siding with Jeremiah wright especially on the brain comment tip but it is sad to see some people step back into the scared position or as some may think the smart position who knows.

My husband and I both agreed that some of the things Rev. Wright said were truthful, HOWEVER, this man of GOD had to know without a doubt that his timing couldn’t have been worse for Barack Obama and his campaign and I believe it was done on purpose. He could’ve waited until later to speak out about his believes but chose to do it right smack dead in the heat of the campaign and when Obama is losing steam to Hillary.
I hate to admit it but I agree that it’s over for him. He will not come back from this scandal. He has Mr. Wright and the fact that he continues to dodge debates for that. I always thought that he should’ve let Hillary take it this term and run in 2012 anyway. That would’ve worked out much better for him.

I think it is pathetic that some people on here think exercising some tact means “kissing massa’s feet”…keep up the act and see how far you get in Amerikka. In case you didn’t know, you can make more changes when you’re at the top rather than the bottom….save the activism for later. I rest my case.

Jeremiah Wright without a doubt in my mind is a very wise man, i will not demean or belittle him in that aspect. With that being said though.. he damn well knows what his ass is doing using a historic time such as this to preach his opinions now!! I think it is plain selfish and my heart is saddened that Barack is actually being torn down and his chances weakening by his own kind. sadly, the republicans and Hilary are aware of this and played on the weakening ties we have in the black community. JEREMIAH WRIGHT sit down and shut up!!! it’s one more reason why i think we look ignorant always blaming racism for our shortcomings. Racism is still MUCH alive but we don’t need white folk to do anything to stop us, we STOP and pull down ourselves!!

Rev. Wright is cool and all and he said some good stuff because we know how some people do to get accepted by white people, it’s how black get accepted in the world by being “quiet.” Some will learn some day, lol.

you have effectively brought the obama run for the white house to a halt. why did you have to get on the stage at the nat’l press club and put on a show for the race-haters you fell right into the trap. it has also dug a hole for barack. see this is why i have disconnected from org. religion ;mininters , pastors , bishops are all over the place w/ your various messages. i can’t imagine DR. KING putting on a display of this kind.it was not your best work but i feel your frustration. but i don’t agree w/ want you did at that press gathering. a lady on the TJMS show spoke of how much you have done for the blacks and that we are harsh on you for this news conference. well my response is jim jones also did a lot for black people so i’am not drinking anyones kool aid. black people are showing these white folks that we are not even in control of our own destiny to me we are like a colony of FIRE ANTS and there is no unity in sight. the bible speaks of how the devil, even comes as an ANGEL of light. god told peter if you love me then follow my commandments. nowdays the people of the pulpit delineate from the bible and lean to their own understanding which is a dangerous path to take. who ever you put first in your life is your GOD and i’ll tell you now NONE OF YOU ON THIS EARTH FITS THAT BILL……… like the white man say’s in mississippi the racist south region of the US>[ the plantation south] that ‘dog won’t hunt’. its to late to tell the rev to sit down now the damage is done. i hope i’am wrong.

For me, personally, the issue here is not one that is black and white. I am a Christian and I don’t go to church to hear about politics. I go to hear the word of God. When i want politics, I go to CNN, Fox, MSNBC or whoever. In the context of being at an NAACP function, or the White House press dinner or some other “political” event, I think that Mr. Wright’s comments are his own, he is entitled to speak his mind. However, if I were one of his parishioners, at his congregation a Sunday morning, I can’t say I ‘d be a member at his church very long. As a pastor and someone who is responsible for shepherding the flock, I found some of his comments unacceptable. The Bible I read says that we are one in Christ. Jew, Greek, male, female - God has no respect of person. As Christians we are called to be peace keepers, we are called to be loving. SOME of the comments that Mr. Wright has made from the pulpit were not in the spirit of love (at least they didn’t sound like it). That’s what bothers me the most. I don’t do the whole “black” church / “white” church thing. Whoever professes Christ as their savior belongs to God plain and simple. It’s sad that even among Christians, we have racial divisions (still). To me, that is bigger than black and white because we’re supposed to reflect the love of Christ and be a light in the world.

This man is saying those things at such a wrong time, when we have a chance to have a black president, that I even wonder if he’s not a puppet that was given money to make Obama lose the elections. I don’t want to start nothing and I hope I’m wrong, but humans have weaknesses period. He knows GOOD AND WELL that the media has all eyes on him and is using him to sabotage Obama’s campaign. It’s okay to do and say the right things, but I’m sorry when you do and say the right things at the WRONG TIME that could lead to disaster. This can be applied for everything, even your personal life. There is a TIME for each and everything, this is not “kissing YT’s ass” this is being SMART ABOUT IT. First step : elect Obama, and then we can start the other steps.
JEREMIAH : SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!

HONESTLY, REV. WRIGHT OR “WRONG” JUST NEEDS TO SIT DOWN AND PUT SOME TAPE OVER HIS MOUTH UNTIL BARACK OBAMA WINS THIS THING!! WHAT HE DOESNT REALIZE IS THAT EVERYTIME HE GETS ON TV AND THINK HE’S DOING A GOOD THING, HE’S JUST MAKING THINGS WORST FOR THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN!!
THIS IS AMERICA AND WE DO HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH, BUT REV. WRIGHT NEEDS TO UNDERSTAND THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ALREADY DONT WANT BARACK OBAMA TO BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT, SO THEREFORE CERTAIN PEOPLE (HILARY CLINTON) ARE LOOKING FOR ANYTHING TO HOLD AGAINST HIS THROAT!!
SO THE KINDEST WAY I CAN TRY TO PUT THIS IS:
REV. WRIGHT SIT YO ASS DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BARACK OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT 2008!!!!!!!!!
BARACK OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT 2008!!!!!!!!!
BARACK OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT 2008!!!!!!!!!
