NEWS ROUND UP: MICHAEL MISICK INFO / ALLAN HOUSTON’S YOUNGPRENEURS / KILPATRICK UPDATE

Michael Misick, husband to LisaRaye and Premier of Turks & Caicos, is “seriously considering” stepping down following sexual assault accusations, according to TMZ.
Earlier this month, Misick issued a strong denial of the allegations:
“A few days ago, an American female, after leaving the Turks and Caicos Islands, made a false report to law enforcement officials in the United States that she had allegedly been sexually assaulted by me. I strongly and categorically deny these false allegations.”
The case is being investigated by the Royal Turks & Caicos Police Force, but U.S. law enforcement officials are involved because the complaint was made by a U.S. citizen.
ALLAN HOUSTON’S YOUNGPRENEURS

Former NY Knicks shooting guard and Olympic gold medalist, Allan Houston recently presented three exceptional ‘youngpreneurs’ with the Allan Houston / Lenovo Small Business Incubator Award.
This year’s recipients, Dennys Franklin of Daidae Clothing and Georgianna Pinto and Errol King (of IQ Bytes), received $20,000 and office space for a year so they can build sustainable businesses with lasting economic benefit to their families, neighborhoods and larger communities.
On April 17th, Allan Houston’s Business Education and Development Program graduated its second class of 28 new ‘youngpreneurs’ in Harlem. Each of the graduates completed the rigorous five-month course that includes instruction, mentoring and the writing of business plans in preparation for launching their own businesses.
GETTING RID OF KILPATRICK COULD BE DANGEROUS

Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick said he should remain in office otherwise the city and even the state would be in economic turmoil. Sounds like someone is awfully full of himself.
“There’s a danger of unplugging. There’s been such a knee-jerk reaction of leave, leave, leave. But what happens the next day?” Kilpatrick said at a forum with the region’s top elected officials last week. “You’d have a temporary mayor and an election in 90 days. You could have four mayors in 15 months.”
Kilpatrick is currently facing 12 counts of criminal charges, but he noted the progress that is under way in Detroit:
“What you see on television every night is not what’s happening in the city of Detroit,” he said. “We’re closing deals, fixing streets and solving crime.”

Brothas in position of leadership, are always going to be under a microscope,on any level.I don’t want to get up on a soapbox, because we all have slipped at least once.I feel like these brothas should be smarter about what they are doing. If you keep things tight with your wife and family,on top of leading a city or a country, you won’t have time to do anything else but to be a good husband, father, and role model. If you want to chase women, cool just be single Brotha Kwame, and don’t try to take it Brotha Mike.. damn! On a more positive note, glad to see Brotha Alan put some water back in the well, like that in ya bruh!

If the law says you have to be convicted of the felony, why would he leave before he is found guilty. I do not know the evidence they have against him, other then the testimony tapes presented in the media which shows that he initially denied communicating with the young woman but okay can we have a trial first and what do the people of the city say are they up and arms or just the media and politians that want to take his seat. I do not care what you do in your personal life, as long as its leagal, When did America become a moral code for anyone. The adult sex industry is a billion dollar a year business, and I know you people do not think that is international sales only. We need to stop pointing figures and start asking why is it eve relevant. Now if if is against the law like the prostitution situation in NYC then yeah I agree you need to be prosecuted like anyone else, but ever since Bill C we have lost our damn minds. Good gracious…what if we were to pull everyone’s card and reveal all the skeletons then what no one could run for office. I am a firm believer that as long as it doesn’t effect how you run the office or is a crime your business is your business. Period…

And another thing, the T & C issue, I really hope he did not sexually assualt that woman. Now in this case I think he should remain in office until charges are brought against him. If he cannot handle the investigation or indictment and run the country he should step down, but until there is a conviction I do not think people should require him to step down. I do believe that had Lisa and her hubby not tried to be the it couple all over the media he wouldnt be in this mess now. Not to say that the women is lying but has anyone ever noticed that once you become well known that is when the trouble starts…I just hope the truth which ever it is comes to light because no one deserves to have the dignity, life and body violated.

this low life has been charged with a serious crime. Rape is a terrible act and no human being should be subjected to it. Are you people that nieve to think that because he is sleeping with “Diamond the stripper” he is not capable of commiting this horrible crime. The U.S. is involved because the accuser is an American citizen. Do you think T&C local authorities would prosicute him? No. The local authorities are his croonies and would have covered up and dismissed these allegations. T&C local authorities was informed of the alleged rape and nothing was mentioned by Mr. Misick. Not until the F.B.I. got involed, and U.K. authorities did he even acknowledge this incodent. When this fool married Lisa Raye I knew he was trash. What respectable man in his “position” would marry this known ghetto, ignorant whore and give her a title of “First Lady”. Would Obama have this tramp on his arm? Hell no! Where there is smoke, there is fire. This is not the first time he has been accused of rape or being a womanizer. You think Lisa Raye didn’t know about this? She did and didn’t care as long as she benefited. He should step down, he was an embarrasment to T&C and the U.K. And if he was innocent, he would not be considering resigning.

NUMBER 14-YOU ARE SILLY!

I HAVE TO AGREE MAYOR KILPATRICK,IS A HANDSOME MAN,I HAVE ALWAYS THOUGHT THAT,TOO. *(unfortunately-he’s STILL A “MAN”) THIS IS IN REFERENCE TO THE AFFAIR. Hope they work that out!

Bravo to Allan Houston. It nice to see athletes doing positive things, as opposed to that dumb-assed Pacman Jones. They should make his ass work at Walmart for a years.
Kwame needs to step his degenerate ass down. I don’t know that, after it took us so long to achieve these levels of success, we think it’s okay to play the “good ol’ boy game.” Out here in So. Cali, the Compton, Carson, Lynwood areas have had so many crooks in office, I think they just trade jail cells, coming and going. Most are black, some are latino. It’s just nuts.
Detroit has been broke for years, and he thinks he could just give away $8 million hush money, and it wouldn’t get out. Just stupid.

I heard a while ago that Lisa Raye and her husband were getting a divorce anyway. Was this misinformation? Kwame knows he needs to step down, brother is holding on for dear life. You can’t make this situation look good for you so please stop trying.

Bravo to Allan Houston…
@Dubai I agree with nearly everything you said except for him being “charged”…He was accused, not charged…So technically, he’s still innocent until proven guilty…But I definitely will not put this past him. Marrying Lisa Raye made me wonder about him. At first I thought he was some naive fool, but now it’s all making sense.

Why should Kwame step down? He has not been convicted of anything , he has the right to due process, let’s just wait until the trial and see what happens!
