Actor Wesley Snipes was sentenced to three years in prison and fined up to $5 million on tax evasion charges on Thursday. It was the maximum sentence possible under federal sentencing guidelines. He didn’t have to turn himself in immediately. The judge ruled he could surrender at a later date.
“The law is very clear: People must pay their taxes,” Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Douglas Shulman said. “There is no secret formula that eliminates a person’s tax obligations.” [READ MORE]

I seen this on CNN, he told the court his advisor told him he didn’t have to pay taxes. I want to know what made him believe that and then repeat it. I had to pay taxes this year. I hated writing that check to the IRS. But you know what…I did it? It doesn’t matter if I think taxes are unfair or too high. That is irrelevant at this point.

Marc Anthony was in trouble with the IRS last year. I think he owed $5mil. He said he THOUGHT his accountants were filing his taxes. But when he found out they weren’t and that he owed the IRS…he paid them. He didn’t try to get out of it like some people. As a result, Marc Anthony is at home with his wife and newborn twins!!!
